NGL, I'm considering never coming back to this site after typing this, after seeing you actually cover this cringefest of an excuse of a human being. Like, no lie, this is probably going to be my final comment on this site, as seeing this actually being covered here...makes me reconsider how much I should care about this site as a whole. It's been...an alright ride I guess, but...yeah, I think I'll be going somewhere else for Nintendo news going forward. Bye...
Apparently I'm...REALLY in the minority when it comes to not caring about framerate unless it REALLY hinders gameplay (no, I can't even think of a good example right now), so count me as someone who's pretty excited for this! ^^
Okay but where is the Smash cinematic universe already? We have Pikachu (and Jigglypuff and Greninja....and Pokemon Trainer I guess), Sonic, Pixels had Pac-Man, Street Fighter has a couple live-action movies, and soon, everyone in the Mario crew...
If Pokemon can have three mobile games directly ported to Switch, there's no reason this couldn't have been playable on it too. Controller support would have been great, too, especially for a game like this.
I always thought this WAS legit a game based on the canon MLP franchise...just made with the worst art style possible. Definitely feels odd to know I was always half wrong about said observation.
Now that it's back on PC, surely someone should know...why it got temporarily banned by now, right? It seems to be decently popular, and will likely get even more popular after all of this went down...
My two roommates and I had a hearty laugh when we all realized that either YouTube or Netflix was the top 'game' on the Wii U for us. XP Smash and BOTW were the next biggest ones for me, though far dwarfed by the 1500 hours of YouTube watched on it. XD But...for a long time, I did use my Wii U Gamepad as a TV whenever I sat down to eat, so...
Well, that came out of nowhere...good thing both systems are stupidly easy to hack, but like...come on, Nintendo. Surely this will lose them money...right?
....Then why bother using them at all then, if our 'tiny brains' can't comprehend them? You don't see gaming companies putting quadratic math problems into games willy-nilly, after all....
I'm still mad that Panty and Stocking never got anything resembling a video game, either. Sure, it'd have to be rated AT LEAST M considering the tone of the show, but come on...you could easily make a Wario Land or Mega Man X kind of game featuring the duo. I've even fantasized about teaching myself how to build a game on something like the GBC or GBA to make my own for the series, but alas...
I've had money invested in Super Rare Games orders that might just take as long as this to fulfill (I'll have that LE release of Clockwork Aquario one day...probably)...definitely an odd decision to take, that's for sure. Glad I didn't fund this to begin with though?
As someone who lives in the US...yeah, this is bad. This should concern you no matter where you live, because if Nintendo can do this thing out of sheer pettiness, what's stopping other multibillion dollar companies from doing this kind of thing for even worse reasons?
@ValZ - Technically, no. LD had Modern Sonic and this has Classic Sonic. F*** everyone else though I guess, including the ones they already designed from LD...
...But I do find it funny that you'll have to rely on customs to get even the other characters that were shown in minifigure form in Lego Dimensions before. @_@ Not saying it was a good game, but it DID exist, and Lego put in the resources to make and animate other non-Sonic characters for that game...and Lego's usually good at officially making minifigures they feature in their video games.
Welp, Sonic finally truly bested Mario at something (other than TV and movies...Sonic has always done better than Mario there). His eventual Lego set looks miles better than any of Mario's. (Shh, I know that intelligent people would rather buy the K'Nex Mario stuff, especially since their minifigures are surprisingly compatible with the Lego system in general, and that would be a better comparison, but alas...IDK everything about that line, compared to the continuing disappointment I've seen of Lego's Mario line).
There's no way even eFootball should be labeled anything less than a masterpiece in comparison to the ACTUAL shovelware that was released this year. Like that Popeye game, for instance.
Rumor has it that Cartoon Network already has plans to buy them all just to hate on for no reason, like that one guy did with all of those Rosalina Amiibo from back in the day. Because that's how they essentially treated Sonic Boom when they aired it, despite everyone universally agreeing the writing was genuinely hilarious. But considering they also bullied Pokemon (...and Star Wars!), of all franchises, off of their channel as well...
This sounds like an update made specifically for me, due to me covering almost all of my island in custom patterns. But my island is literally Disneyland, so it's excusable.
@andykara2003 - So, someone named @RudyC3 on here made an excellent reply to me about the whole conundrum, and answered an additional question I had in the long run about why SMK tournaments use the PAL version. IDK why the comment is gone now, but here's what they wrote:
'In this case, the PAL version actually runs faster than the NTSC version, that would be why. SMK was a PAL optimised game, which is to say Nintendo actually did speed up the game to compensate for the other slower refresh rate. However in doing so, Nintendo made the PAL version a bit too fast by comparison.
However on MK64 the timer runs slower on PAL than it does on NTSC, whereas in SMK the timer was also adjusted to run properly even at 50Hz (seconds aren't "longer" on PAL in SMK like they are in PAL MK64). In MK64 the timer is tied to the framerate (30 on NTSC, 25 on PAL), in SMK it's calculated based on the console's clock speed I believe and adjusted on PAL to compensate for the slight difference in CPU clock. Bottom line is, comparing times between PAL and NTSC on MK64 is doable since it all boils down to how many frames it took to get to the finish line, but in SMK it really is time based and both version run at slightly different speeds.'.
Definitely nice to hear that NTSC and PAL times are seperated for SMK, instead of stupidly merging the two like the MK64 community does. Regardless, awesome time! ^^
Funny, alot of this article also perfectly describes my cautiously optimistic feelings for Legends Arceus. Except that stupid phone already has me way more worried about that game than Fronteirs at this point.
As if companies aren't making obvious moves like this lately for no reason. Wasn't Chrono Cross in that big ESRB leak anyway? This shouldn't be something you should write off at all.
Will it have all the content of both versions? Hopefully, because as of now, from everything I've read, there's no definitive version of the game, and a remaster should definitely be able to fix that issue.
@HeadPirate First of all, I am a girl, if you'd read my username.
Second of all, dead game is dead, even in its home land, Japan, which probably has more Gacha gamers there than America does....probably. I've played and enjoyed even more successful mobile games in the past that have went the way of the dodo, so forgive me for not having much confidence in this one... @_@
Level 5 killing this off in Japan doesn't bode well for even a Japanese-exclusive sequel at this rate. I guess that's what happens when you put all your Yo-Kai eggs into one proverbial basket...
So...they REALLY didn't add anything to this port, huh? The game originally turned me off from getting too far just because of the tutorial, which is sad, because I ended up REALLY liking the first game...maybe I'll just finally get around to giving it a real shot on the 3DS instead, as the 3DS IS still my favorite gaming console...
Judging that Capcom only decided just now that it would be headed to Netflix right away, despite there being a RE movie in theaters RIGHT NOW...yeah, this ain't gonna be good, and Capcom already knows it. ._.
