A Sonic The Hedgehog Lego Set Has Just Leaked Online

It’s not even the same set as the one on ideas! Wasn’t it meant to be based on Mania? We don’t even get the hard boiled heavies and the death egg robot! THANKS LEGO

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there already a Sonic LEGO? I think it was for LEGO Dimensions.

@Jackpaza0508 Yup, it was supposed to be based on Mania, but it looks like generic green hill zone.

Look i'm going to get it anyway because I have been wanting a sonic lego set for years, but if this is really it, they just took the dudes Idea, and some how made it look worse, Why couldn't they make eggman look like he did in LD?

From how bland the box looks I can only hope that its just a really early version of it, because if this is the real deal, Its pretty underwhelming.

(And as other's have stated if it was meant to be based on mania it did a bad job at showing that)

The difference, is this one is classic sonic, and the other is modern sonic.

I am buying this as soon as it comes out no matter how much it costs.

@Snatcher the box is all black to fit with other sets in the "adult" theme, that they recently introduced, so that's why the box isn't cool

I'm actually really excited for this set, because this is the first lego ideas set in a long time that I've thought was a good decision to choose ( because 90 percent of what they choose is just dust collectors) I will definitely buy this day one

Welp, Sonic finally truly bested Mario at something (other than TV and movies...Sonic has always done better than Mario there). His eventual Lego set looks miles better than any of Mario's. (Shh, I know that intelligent people would rather buy the K'Nex Mario stuff, especially since their minifigures are surprisingly compatible with the Lego system in general, and that would be a better comparison, but alas...IDK everything about that line, compared to the continuing disappointment I've seen of Lego's Mario line).

...But I do find it funny that you'll have to rely on customs to get even the other characters that were shown in minifigure form in Lego Dimensions before. @_@ Not saying it was a good game, but it DID exist, and Lego put in the resources to make and animate other non-Sonic characters for that game...and Lego's usually good at officially making minifigures they feature in their video games.

lego snoc. We've seen Lego Dimensions, but this is a whole new level. Is the Sonic minifig the same one as in Dimensions?

@ValZ - Technically, no. LD had Modern Sonic and this has Classic Sonic. F*** everyone else though I guess, including the ones they already designed from LD...

Took them so many years to get Sonic into PHYSICAL Lego pieces. What were they doing during the time between Lego Dimensions and now?

That sonic minifig looks pretty good

Lifelong Nintendo fan obvi but, for some reason I am so much more interested in this set than any of the Mario ones I've seen. The clear plastic rods holding the rings up is next level. This thing's freaking beautiful.

If you look at the image on the box there are two little black pegs on the base of Green Hill Zone… Implying there will probably be other level add-ons you can attach to this scene.

That's more in line with what I expected out of the Mario sets. Good on them for making a nice Sonic set! Hope Nintendo does simple sets like this, geared more toward its adult fans.

It sucks it doesn't have the Death Egg Robot like in the Ideas campaign, but I'm definitely getting it.

@DarthXenos What annoy's me, is they got rid of the death egg robot, for that Snobby Looking eggman.

@Mikmoomamimocki I get they were going for the style of the original game but the fact it's so flat kinda makes it unappealing for me.

Not technically the first Sonic LEGO, as he got some LEGO for him with that LEGO Dimensions video game.

It says 1125 pieces, which seems a bit much when I look at the picture. It also states 18+. I don't think Lego has anything released for ages 18 and above. So maybe fake?

@ThaBEN "18+" is Lego's new branding for the adult collectors' market. That's been on a lot of boxes recently.

@ThaBEN nah, that definitely looks like it could easily be 1125 LEGO pieces. I've done enough builds in recent years to recognize that that number definitely looks legit from the image alone. Pretty sure the Friends set is the same deal too.

Man I was really hoping the set would be the original Sonic Mania set. I probably would’ve bought two of them for both builds if the other build it featured was an alternative build (I don’t remember if it was). This looks ok in comparison but my interest is lost.

I was hoping for the same thing, I wanted the two in one and was gonna buy two to have both built at once, now I’m giving them less money I guess. This has made me quite disappointed, but I still have to get it.
