Untitled Goose Game at $10 is a fantastic pickup for that price.
Wow, those are good prices on some really good games.
MONSTER HUNTER + SUNBREAK is 49.99
Recommendations: Now's the time to get Hollow Knight and Bastion if you haven't already. Both are incredible games, and Bastion for $3 is an absolute steal. Also, you're getting 50% off a $15 game that will give you 10's if not 100's of hours of gameplay (referencing Hollow Knight here)! What's not to love!
Purchases (aka what I'm gonna get (maybe)): Ok, with a budget of $10, what can I get? First off Celeste. That's an easy $5. Also, Dicey Dungeons is $2, so might as well! That brings it up to $7. What else? Might as well get Downwell, seems fun. Now I'm at $9. What to spend the last dollar on... hmmm... any new Toree games come out? Nope. If I bump it up to $14 I could get What Remains of Edith Finch. It did get a 9/10 and I'm always up for a good story... yea, I'll do that. Great! Now to ask my dad for $14 so I can get all these games for Ha- oh, the sale lasts until the 18th. And I don't want to spend my own money... oh wait it's only $14. Sold! Not gonna play them right now, as I don't have enough time or storage space, but I do want to play them eventually, so might as well get them now!
Wow some of these deals are better than the black friday ones! lol
Some great discounts there, though also some we've seen before. I might finally cave for Chicory since I need to use some My Nintendo gold points anyway. Disco Elysium is also tempting, but I'll wait on it. I'll still likely give my wish list a browse.
Out of this list, the games I've played/can wholeheartedly recommend are Ori and the Will of the Wisps, What Remains of Edith Finch, Monster Hunter Rise, and Untitled Goose Game.
Edit: I'm also currently playing through 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, though it's the physical version. Those who like mysteries and VNs with some strategy elements (not too challenging on Normal) should look it up. The story is completely bonkers and fragmented, but I suppose that's part of the fun.
Only things really standing out to me here are 13 Sentinels, which I've seen at better prices physically (and have on PS4 anyway), Hades which I'd kind of rather have on Xbox, and Celeste which I already have so probably end up passing on this one. Maybe Dicey Dungeons, it's on Gamepass but that seems like a good price for a game I hear's pretty solid.
Should I buy Stardew Valley for a second time???
WHAT A SALE. Finally going to pick up hollow night, wish i had more money to spend too
Portal and Portal 2 - my favourite series of all time, now playable on handheld for around $15? Done!
I don’t see Dragon Ball fighterz on the store? Is anyone else having this problem?
EDIT- I had to search for the game separately but I found it!
Portal companion collection is a must have if you don't already have it on PC.
Does anyone think Hyper Light Drifter is worth it for that price?
Chicory: A Colorful Tale is one I've been waiting for a sale on but I don't really want to load up funds on my US account just for that so hopefully this is a sign that we'll see it go on sale in other regions soon too.
Might be time to give Hades a try.
Looks like it's finally time for Axiom Verge
Celeste? Hollow Knight? Portal? Holy cow my wishlist gonna be clear after today
@Arckadius I found the game to be a mechanically shallow one-trick pony that ran out of gas about halfway through…But it IS extremely pretty.
@Kirbyo Yeah, Hollow Knight is already criminally underpriced at $15. If you like metroidvania games, it's a steal at $7.50. They're almost giving away what should be a $60 game.
Agreed with most of the comments on here, some great deals!
Just pointing to Death’s Door, which for $9.99 is a steal. It’s a gem of a game.
Also, for those like me who never got into Monster Hunter games, Rise has been an amazing entry point. I’m having a blast, especially when playing w a friend.
@Arckadius It didn't hook me after an hour or two, is all I can tell you.
Ah, the first wave of discounts to note down for the month's second payday as they stretch safely into the holida-
"Until 18th December"
...What.
EDIT: eh, screw it, guess Goetia 2 and Coteries of New York will wait some more. Celeste, come to papa.
I still can't bring myself to pay even 20 bucks for a Tetris. I really want it!...but it still seems too pricey.
I really want Tetris Effect. But there is no way I am paying $20 for Tetris
Hollow sh*t!
some deals are like insults.
People who never played Celeste and still don't buy it for 5 bucks obviously hate gaming, mankind and pizza.
Hollow Knight and Hades also almost hurt. And the fact that all of them together will cost you just 25 bucks is just a cry for attention from those devs bleeding hearts. How can gamers just be so cruel and let this slip? I wish I'd live in the states. I wish I wouldn't already own these gems.
Hades at $12.99 is a must buy
@Arckadius It's one of my all time favorite games.
I'll grab Tetris Effect for sure. Incredible Terri's game, but I suck at it, and it was $40 for waaaaay too long. $19.99 seems right to me.
@Mando44646 it has been $40 for ages...
I think it's time for me to pick up Stardew Valley.
Hollow knight is the BEST! for $7 it's SO GOOD.
I might have gotten doom if you were allowed to turn off all the gore.
Was hoping for the Diablo Prime Evil Collection, wasn't on sale in NA for black friday like it was in other regions for some reason, but diablo ii was, now diablo iii is, what gives?
Lots.of great games on this list! I own over half of them. I am very tempted by 13 sentinels but my backlog is soooo long already. Anyone who doesn't own bastion, axiom verge, Ori, Rayman, or tetris effect already should definitely think about snagging them at these prices.
Had my hopes up and thought I would see a 1st party game on sale, why did I even bother?
@iLikeUrAttitude Half these games are better than many first party titles.
Awwww, was hoping to grab Ultra Street Fighter 2 at 50% off ...and will hold out for it too. Missed it by a few minutes on the black friday sale.
If you don't have Dicey Dungeons get it! I promise it's well worth your 2 dollars
@Arckadius I found it dull as dishwater and the graphical flash wore off after a couple hours of wandering through poorly laid out maps and annoyingly abstract interactions. The comparisons to Zelda 1 were way off.
Portal games for 13 bucks? That's a steal of an already low price! Disco Elysium is also beyond amazing, and 19.99 is awesome!
@LikelySatan yeah thats crazy to me
@Mando44646 same. Great game though.
Y'all hit on a bunch, but if you haven't played Undertale, now is as good a time as any to give it a whirl.
Tetris Effect Connected 50%... That's what I was waiting for. It's time!
I'm trying to show restraint and only pick up things on my wishlist. But some of these just seem like oversights not being on the wishlist...
Is Axiom Verge approachable for some who loves games but is meh at them? I have heard it is great, but if it is in any way old school difficult, probably not for me
@RentedPanda I'm only one opinion, so hopefully someone else will chime in. But I feel this game has its challenging moments where it might be a bit much for casual gamers, so its "get gud" scale might push some away. But gamers of average skill might be challenged a little, but get past parts with only a few retries. I personally fall into the above average skill level (who can slightly go hardcore skill at times), and I had little trouble dispatching this game. I hope that opinion helps.
Thanks, that is helpful!
Merry bad sales!
@Arckadius Yes absolutely. Hyper Light Drifter is one of the best indies on Switch. If the visuals of the game do it for you, the game absolutely will. There’s a lot of visible storytelling and gameplay based storysensing. The world is a visual marvel and has remarkable depth as pixel art. The gameplay too is fluid and somewhat similar to 16-bit era classics like A Link to the Past, though significantly more challenging. The game drew me in. It’s an excellent game for a winter weekend or two. As long as you don’t mind a bit of a challenge and silent storytelling, you’ll love the game if the visuals draw you in.
@Tasuki
lol I've bought it on three different platforms but I only ever really play it on switch 😅
I guess I'll finally take the plunge and get Axiom Verge. I either have or have no interest in the rest of the games on the list.
For that price it's kind of tempting for Rayman Legends. If I cannot find its physical version, I'll bite for the digital version the next time it's for that price.
So in the end, I didn't spend $14, but $5, which was spent on Celeste. I got Downwell and Dicey Dungeons for free using gold points, and the other games I didn't get. That's $5 spent on what would otherwise be $38 total, which is a total discount of... 87% off! Nice! Fun fact: if I had gotten the $2 games with money instead of gold points, the discount would be 76% off instead, which is still pretty good! I would say this sale was a success! Well done me!
Not surprisingly, a bunch of those games are on sale right now in Japan, too, but at much smaller discounts. 30% off of Hades is probably about the best I'm going to get (I have no way of easily adding money to my American account), so I guess I'll pretend I didn't see this article and be happy.
@Arckadius I really enjoyed my time with that game! Worth it.
@MeloMan totally agree with this assessment.
I keep trying to get into hollow knight but can’t. No respect for the player’s time.
@solarwolf07 GODSPEED
I picked up another copy of Diablo 3. Wtf is my problem 😊
