Re: 3DS to Continue as a 'Major Pillar' of Nintendo's Business

Dreamcaster-X

I've been around long enough to know when a Nintendo console is winding down. The flood of long delayed (In the west) JRPG's coming to the console shows that the development well is coming to a close as they start shifting to whatever the NX will be & I'm perfectly fine with that. There's a ton of RPG goodness coming out this year.

I don't think the "New" 3DS was designed to jump start sales this late in the generation but to merely provide a stop gap until the inevitable NX portable releases. 2016 is probably the 3DS's last hurrah. Just look at the releases this year, it's jam packed with JRPG's that have been out in Japan for over a year or more. (Not Complaining) I'm perfectly Ok with this, I LOVE my 3DS & will play it for years to come due to my backlog but the market is ready for their next portable.

Re: Natsume Suggests That Nintendo's Moving Away From SNES on Wii U Virtual Console

Their SNES games have pretty crappy emulation options & the screen area is smaller than the GBA games, WTF? The GBA games are by far the best looking emulated games on the system. The N64 stuff looks decent enough as well, too bad we'll only be limited to a majority of Nintendo 1st party titles for that console. It's a shame we'll never see Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, Conker, etc....

No arguments here. As you said, their Directs are absolutely wonderful but their use of FB & Twitter is abysmal. This Amiibo situation could be totally handled much better with both of those tools but they just remain silent in their ivory tower.

The problem is Kyoto, they just have too many old board members who are content to remain in the past where they kept uber strict controls on everything. That just doesn't work anymore....if you don't address issues nowadays people just move on.

Re: Hardware Classics: Sega Mega CD

@Quorthon Indeed!! If Nintendo had switched to the cheaper CD format for their next console after SNES they probably would have maintained their dominance but the 3rd parties ran to the Playstation in droves & you can't blame them, CD-Rom games were just much cheaper to make & you could include so much information on them vs cartridge at the time.
