The Switch version definitely looks better in person. It's using better textures as well in many instances, the lighting system has also been overhauled. Frame rate is a different story though. If they can tweak the frame rate a bit, this will be a very good version.
Oh the drama!! It's the end of times!!! It's still a great game & if you don't want to buy it then don't. The old times never bothered me so any improvement is just a bonus.
Played it for 3 hours straight last night! Once you get past the controls which have a slight learning curve, it's highly addictive trying to 100% a level of all the collectibles!
Makes sense. There would be no way it could do 1080p without a fan. I have the Android TV Nvidia Shield console so that's in line with what I was expecting.
The parks by my house are overrun in the evenings with people playing it. People of all ages, races, etc are playing it in droves. It has to be unprecedented for an app to have taken off in such a phenomenal manner. IF they can keep the updates coming & stabilize the servers they could have a gold mine for a very long time.
@Krisi Yeah, I've seen that demonstrated on the Nvidia Shield emulator. You just press in on the analog & it switches the top/bottom screens on the fly.
It's so strange that the GBA & DS's library are not available on the 3DS. The GBA games look great on a TV but with the limited screen options they give for DS games & some that are heavy touch or stylus based I can't imagine them selling many titles from that system's library.
@Dakt Exactly what I was thinking too. And also too, the NintendOS emulating Android & iOS doesn't seem far fetched either. It would make for easy ports of those "casual" mobile games too. Most of these rumors on this list make a whole lot of sense. Definitely the most sound descriptions I've read of the device.
This is what's great about fan translations, they keep adding to the SNES/Super Famicom library for us non Japanese reading players. New titles get added every year for it, it's awesome!!
I've been around long enough to know when a Nintendo console is winding down. The flood of long delayed (In the west) JRPG's coming to the console shows that the development well is coming to a close as they start shifting to whatever the NX will be & I'm perfectly fine with that. There's a ton of RPG goodness coming out this year.
I don't think the "New" 3DS was designed to jump start sales this late in the generation but to merely provide a stop gap until the inevitable NX portable releases. 2016 is probably the 3DS's last hurrah. Just look at the releases this year, it's jam packed with JRPG's that have been out in Japan for over a year or more. (Not Complaining) I'm perfectly Ok with this, I LOVE my 3DS & will play it for years to come due to my backlog but the market is ready for their next portable.
@andrew20 I would buy all the GBA & DS Pokemon on Virtual Console with these features. Maybe if these do well, it will convince them to bring over the other games.
I love reading all the whiny comments, most are so typical. People let their OWN hopes get up about stuff & then cry when it's not what they envisioned in their head. You should know by now to never try to guess what a Nintendo announcement will be.
I don't get it...why are people "upset" & really who gives fug if they are?? People are so damned whiny & then the "media" perpetuates it by making it an article over what is probably a very tiny minority. Let them be angry, there's a lot more going on in the world to direct your anger at.
@GamePerson19 Because it probably is!! That's why they've been coy about a NA release. I'd bet anything it becomes an NX launch title, it fills in the "fighting game" category quite nicely for their new system debut.
Kids will love this!! Get over it "old folks", Nintendo is not targeting us whether we like it or not. They already have us, their marketing is about grabbing children to play just the same way they did with us in the 80's & 90's.
Their SNES games have pretty crappy emulation options & the screen area is smaller than the GBA games, WTF? The GBA games are by far the best looking emulated games on the system. It's a shame we'll never see Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, Conker, etc....

The problem is Kyoto, they just have too many old board members who are content to remain in the past where they kept uber strict controls on everything. That just doesn't work anymore....if you don't address issues nowadays people just move on.
When the hell are they gonna release more Wii VC games??? They always do this where they rollout a new system, release a couple of games & then it disappears for weeks at a time.
@Quorthon Indeed!! If Nintendo had switched to the cheaper CD format for their next console after SNES they probably would have maintained their dominance but the 3rd parties ran to the Playstation in droves & you can't blame them, CD-Rom games were just much cheaper to make & you could include so much information on them vs cartridge at the time.

Re: Australian Distributor Claims Switch Version Of RiME Has Been Pushed Back To Q3 2017
All the doom & gloom & we don't even know if the game is good or not yet. Typical internet reactions of course.
Re: Lego City Undercover Still Has Ridiculous Load Times on Switch

Great title to pick up & play for a few matches, all the characters what few there are of course are diverse & fun.
Re: Review: Shock Troopers (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)
I love popping this in & just blasting everything for dumb arcade action fun, ya just need that once in a while & it's now portable.
Re: Axiom Verge Team Still Awaiting Approval for Nintendo Switch Release
Seems like a no-brainer to bring it to Switch, I wonder what the holdup is...
Re: Feature: Ten Useful and Fun Little Details to Know About Nintendo Switch
Best feature of the OS is that it's super quick to use & navigate, a GIANT departure from Wii U's UI/OS.

Re: Yacht Club Games Reveals Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment
How about a new game? This free content is great & all but a sequel would be preferred at this point.

What if their next project is F-Zero NX? They'd be a great fit!!
Re: Video: Here's 15 Wonderful Minutes Of Monster Boy Footage

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo NX Deal Is A Vindication Of Nvidia's Shield Program
@rjejr It actually says "Roll on March 2017" & that's his personal opinion of wanting to get one in his hands.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo NX Deal Is A Vindication Of Nvidia's Shield Program
These are speculative articles. Do people even know what that means? They NEVER said it was a fact.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo NX Deal Is A Vindication Of Nvidia's Shield Program
@Zeldafanforlife Actually the Gamecube & Wii used an IBM Power PC processor with a GPU made by ATI. The only system they used AMD for was the Wii U.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo NX Deal Is A Vindication Of Nvidia's Shield Program
@kenrulei 2016 isn't over yet.
Re: Retro-Bit's Next System Aims To Challenge The NES Classic Edition Mini Console
@samuelvictor Well the Gamecube, N64 & Dreamcast games usually suffer from a myriad of issues. The 16 & 32 bit stuff is flawless.

It's still amazing that this was discovered in the condition it was. A rare piece of video game history that deserves to be preserved.

Remember that time that all your favorite websites only wrote articles on things that ONLY you want to read????
Yeah, me neither
Re: Talking Point: The Viral Reaction to Pokémon GO is a Surprise Gift for Nintendo
@Lady_rosalina Get used to it. The game is generating clicks on every site it is on. That is why everyone is reporting on it. It makes them money.

A unified account system where GBA games purchased on Wii U are now playable on the 3DS would be really awesome!!
Re: Review: Final Fantasy Explorers (3DS)
@H_Hunter It's at a 73 on Metacritic, his score is pretty much in line with the general consensus of reviewers.

@KeeperBvK What??? I never mentioned another platform in my post. Paranoia much?
Re: Elliot Quest Patch Fixes Bugs and Graveyard Glitch
It's a great game, glad to see a developer who is so public friendly & seems to care.
Re: Natsume Suggests That Nintendo's Moving Away From SNES on Wii U Virtual Console
The Super FX chip is not hard to emulate, Rasberry Pi's & Ouya's do it with ease & it can be done with far less computing power than that!!
