As it's the middle of the week it's time, as always, to see what's hot and what's not in the Japanese market. Despite a much hyped PS4 release landing it's a hardy old franchise on 3DS that took number one.
Starting with that software top 20, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Professional has made its debut in top spot, seeing off the much acclaimed Nioh in the process. You have to go down to fifth place to find Pokemon Sun and Moon, while Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World is still in sixth but has dropped to four figures. A good week for Square Enix, in any case, though unfortunately there seem to be long odds on Joker 3 coming to the West.

Man, how I'd love for that game to come to Switch. It's not going to happen and I competely understand that, but it's getting harder and harder to dust off my New 3DS XL with the Switch so close to release...
To bad we won't be seeing any of the Monster titles.
@River3636 Especially when you consider that Monsters: Joker and Joker 2 did get released over here. After that, Square Enix simply cut us off. :/
Such a shame, love that subseries.
@Akropolon Those games on the DS were awesome. I guess they think it won't do well here.
What does 'long odds' mean? Good odds, low odds?
Can't believe Minecraft on psvita has been in the top 20 for over a year now. That's what u call having legs. Even the wii u version is still in there. Not the best of hardware sales all-round
How long will we be seeing GTA5 on these lists?
Time for Nintendo to step in & publish it!! One can dream...
I wish they could release this game everywhere else too. I liked the first 2 on the ds. This would be nice to have in my 3DS game library.
Sad that Nioh did not sell too well there. It is a masterpiece and a GOTY contender.
The more Dragon Quest releases the better, I still hope for this and Theatrhythm to happen. Also want to give a shout out to the new Neptunia game, despite the name of the title the new Neptunia game is a traditional rpg (not online) in the main series so it's probable that it will get a localisation and won't be another Dragon Quest X type of deal.
It won't happen but wow I want this localized.
@Akropolon @River3636 @Nintendo_Ninja I don't get why you guys would think Square Enix won't be bringing this game over to the west especially since Joker 1 & 2 made it. I know we never got the remakes of the GBC games of DQM (Terry's Wonderland and that other game) but the Joker games doesn't fall into that same situation. Remember DQM Joker 3 was recently released in Japan last year, it's not like they would rush localization quickly. Joker 1 was released in 2006 and then was localized everywhere else a year later afterwards, Joker 2 was the same as well, was released in Japan first in 2010 and got localized everywhere else in 2011 afterwards. It'll be the same for DQM Joker 3 as well especially since the Dragon Quest games are getting much attention in the west now, there's no reason Square Enix won't be bringing this one here. Maybe we won't get the Pro version of it but hey it's still DQM Joker 3 either way.
@retro_player_22 I will believe that when I see it.
I sure hope it comes over. along with all the other DQ games we've missed outside Japan....
What are the chances of this getting released in the western market.
If it does I hope they use 3D. I'm playing through DQ8 at the moment and I cant help keep thinking what a shame it's not in 3D.
And those XBOX ONE sales, wow, things are starting to heat up!
@retro_player_22
Like @River3636 said, I'll believe it when I see it. We didn't get Theatrhythm, never got X, and it's been more than a year since the original release of Joker 3.
I'm not ruling it out, but it just feels very unlikely at this point.
