Re: Rayman Legends And Splinter Cell Blacklist Both Sold Less Than Expected, Says Ubisoft

Dreamcaster-X

Look at all these comments making excuses for why they didn't buy 3rd party games on Wii U!!!! THIS IS WHAT I'm TALKING ABOUT!!! You guys are the first ones to blame the software companies instead of blaming yourselves for not buying great 3rd party games. STOP!!!! JUST STOP!!!
Boycotting companies on a platform which is on life support for 3rd parties is the DUMBEST thing in the world!!! Well you'll show them won't you?? I won't buy any of their games unless their used or aftermarket.. BOY you TELL EM!!! That'll DEFINITELY win over 3rd party support!!

These comments are just ridiculous!!

Re: Rayman Legends And Splinter Cell Blacklist Both Sold Less Than Expected, Says Ubisoft

Splinter Cell is one of the best games this year too. It's a shame so many Wii U owners ignored it. 10,000 copies???? THIS IS WHY THERE IS NO 3RD PARTY SUPPORT on Wii U!!!!

I've done my part, I own several of the AAA 3rd part releases, I even bought Arkham City & Mass Effect 3 just to experience them again on Wii U but you can't candy coat these numbers folks. Nintendo system owners overwhelmingly buy Nintendo 1st/2nd party exclusives and VERY LITTLE else. History has proven this time & time again since N64.

I'm fine with this personally because I own the "other" consoles as well but stop putting the blame on the 3rd parties when Nintendo fans are the ones to blame themselves for the lack of 3rd party title purchases.

Re: Watch_Dogs Pushed Back to Spring 2014

I think there are several factors for the delay. I think GTA V's boffo numbers and the upswing in positive buzz for AC IV showed that they probably could afford to take the extra few months & polish it up more. No need in diluting the sales for AC with Watchdogs being released so close together. Now both titles will have more breathing room.

Re: Watch_Dogs Pushed Back to Spring 2014

Dreamcaster-X

@Mommar Naaaahh, they just realized that they would be cannibalizing AC IV's sales now that it has a ton of positive buzz. It wasn't doing too well when it was first announced but has now turned into a most wanted title for many. It makes sense. Nintendo did the same with Tropical Freeze. It was just TOO close to Super Mario 3D World.

Re: Watch_Dogs Pushed Back to Spring 2014

@Macarony64 Unfortunately that's the world of cross platform titles we live in. You personally may not like any of those titles but you can't deny they're not "mass market" titles that will please most of the general gaming public. I hear what you're saying about them being available elsewhere but it's still much better than the PS3's or Xbox 360's launch titles. Watchdogs is a new IP but will also be available on all systems too.
People always have short memories about system launches until they look back at what was available but both new consoles will have very solid launch lineups over past generations.

Re: Watch_Dogs Pushed Back to Spring 2014

Dreamcaster-X

@Macarony64 Now you're definitely joking...right?
COD, BF4, AC IV, NFS:Rivals, Driveclub, Killzone, Knack, Resogun, NBA2K14, Madden 25, Lego Marvel, Minecraft, etc etc....It's a solid lineup for any console launch with something for almost everybody.

Re: Watch_Dogs Pushed Back to Spring 2014

@Macarony64 It's the internet...hard to tell. You just said 18 are indie without any other words it's easily taken as a negative. Not saying it's you but alot of fanboys bash the PS4 for it's big indie support.

Re: Watch_Dogs Pushed Back to Spring 2014

Dreamcaster-X

There's just WAAAAAAY too many AAA games coming out this year and with GTA V still doing boffo numbers plus COD, Battlefield 4, & AC IV still to come this was probably a wise move for a new IP.

Plus there's not too much for "Next-Gen" after Christmas announced so it'll have prime real estate to itself!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Catch-22 With Retail Game Pricing

Dreamcaster-X

@StarDust You're joking right? You should check online prices more often. Amazon is almost always $10 cheaper about a week after new releases and after a month some Wii U games are nearly half price while the e-Shop games are still $59.99. The e-Shop is still selling launch titles at FULL PRICE. That's insane!!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Catch-22 With Retail Game Pricing

Dreamcaster-X

@Dogpigfish Yeah I mean Nintendo has made great strides in the e commerce area & I actually love the Wii U's eShop setup as it's well laid out to me but the cost discrepancy is just too high to solely rely on digital although there are tons of people on Miiverse that are all digital for everything. I still like the physical copy aspect as if I don't like a game I can sell or trade it, you can't do that with a digital copy yet. Plus the lack of a unified account system on Nintendo's systems is so archaic at this point. There is no way I'm buying a full retail game until that is rectified!!

Re: Talking Point: Pokémon X & Y's Grand Global Release Plan Has, Sadly, Been Undermined

Dreamcaster-X

This is true of anything on the net. When I don't want things spoiled I simply steer away from articles that may do that. I just started watching Breaking Bad so I wisely read nothing involving that show as not to ruin it for myself. People that want things ruined actively seek out morsels & crumbs so if they want everything spoiled it's their right but they are missing out on a lot of the magic of self discovery.

Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut Finally Dated for Wii U

Dreamcaster-X

I saw this last night & I was SHOCKED because it sort of came out of nowhere. I pre-ordered it back in March & just assumed it got pushed back to next year. Dunno if it's the best time for Square to release it but I'll take it!!! Looking forward to replaying it with the Wii U additions and DLC which I missed out on the first time around.

Re: Capcom Europe To Axe More Than Half Its Workforce Due To Major Restructuring

Dreamcaster-X

@Yorumi You're absolutely right! There's too many studios trying to release too many AAA games that have astronomical budgets. It's been a long time coming and unfortunately it's going to get worse before it gets better. You will see alot more of the game studios downsizing or closing altogether unfortunately. It's inevitable. That's why you see Sony & Nintendo aggressively going after the indy market, they see the writing's on the wall for some of those studios & know that indy games will play a bigger role in the next gen.

Re: Monster Hunter 4 Dominates in Japan as The Wind Waker HD Has a Modest Debut

Dreamcaster-X

@nik1470 Yep!! Nintendo 1st party titles tend to hold their value anyway but throw in fewer physical copies to the mix & late bloomers could be in for a rude awakening. Hell, even Splinter Cell for Wii U was hard to find at retail. LOL. Wonderful 101 is another game that I think will be tough to get hold of one day. They just didn't print that many copies & I'm amazed how many Wii U owners download titles. I never would have guessed it.

Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Delayed Until Early 2014

Dreamcaster-X

Yeah for all the Negative Nancy's & Debbie Downers out there, there's still PLENTY of new games out and coming til December. Wind Waker (physical) this week, Sonic 3 weeks later, Mario 3D World 3 weeks after that plus all of the 3rd party stuff. AC IV, Watchdogs, Arkham Origins, Lego Marvel just to name a few so CHILL out!!! = )
