Re: Ubisoft: Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag's Team Has "Worked to Improve" Overall Performance on Wii U

Dreamcaster-X

Splinter Cell was my first Ubi title for Wii so I can't comment on other stuff they've done as I played the lackluster AC III on PS3. I think the campaign on Splinter Cell for me has been pretty smooth but I know their online is just downright abysmal so I guess it's a good thing I don't usually play the online counterparts. Hopefully AC IV's campaign is as smooth as Splinter Cell for Wii U owners buying that version but I think I'm going PS4 on this years AC.

@ThomasBW84 Yeah, it's done very well on Wii U, It has a large Miiverse community & IMO was one of if not the premier launch title for Wii U. It got more play in my house than anything. When friends would come over we'd start with Nintendoland but it always seemed like they quickly wanted to switch to Racing Transformed. The 5 player aspect due to the Gamepad player getting his own screen was brilliant and helped demonstrate the Wii U's true potential for multiplayer gaming. Sadly, many games have not taken advantage of this fact. I'm looking at you Splinter Cell!!! Nevertheless it's a fantastic racing game & is more than worthy of being held in the same esteem as the Mario Kart series. I can't believe a sequel hasn't been announced yet!!

I've been avoiding Mii-verse right now. It's tough because I'm still playing Splinter Cell & Wonderful 101 & I like checking on the communities daily but seeing screenshots of Zelda was making me almost buy the digital version. I actually almost clicked purchase but then took a look at the cover art & knew I'd hate myself later for not waiting so I'm just taking temptation out of sight. = )

Edit, ok watching that awesome trailer didn't help any!!! LOL!! I'll just replay Link To The Past for a quick hit of Zelda awesomeness to tide me over then!

Re: Talking Point: With Calls for Nintendo to Follow the Crowd, It Faces a Dilemma

Dreamcaster-X

Nintendo just needs to keep being Nintendo but some things have improved with how they're now communicating with the customers directly. That was a big deal for them but I think they're now seeing the benefits of that instead of keeping everything so secretive. At this point, the Wii U probably will become just another Gamecube in terms of sales & I'm ok with that cause there's gonna be killer software for it and what doesn't come to the Wii U I will just play on my PS4.

Re: The Wii U Continues to Struggle in Japanese Charts

Dreamcaster-X

@-KwB- It's been like this for a while now. They buy portables more than home consoles now. I mean I was in Tokyo for the 1st time right before the earthquake and everybody & I mean everybody was playing a 3DS or PSP. Adults, children, & Seniors. It's not like that here in the U.S. Everybody games there but they just do it on the go now.

Re: Wii U Name Isn't To Blame For Poor Sales, Says Reggie

Dreamcaster-X

Yeah it's a combination of several factors. Reggie pointed out one of it's most glaring issues being a lack of software and he'd be right but the name issue & the system looking similar to the old Wii is still very confusing to some people. I think he overestimates consumer intelligence. If anything, I think they have learned to drop the "Wii" moniker on their next console and to have a steady stream of software.

Re: Review: Rayman Legends (Wii U)

Dreamcaster-X

I'll get around to getting this eventually but there's just way too many games coming out right now that I need to play first. Had it come out in February when there was nothing to play I would have scooped it up but it's the fall season and I have my purchases mapped out for the rest of the year. I'm not intentionally punishing Ubisoft but seriously why would you release this game against such giant behemoths like GTA, Windwaker, Sonic, etc....

Re: Review: DuckTales: Remastered (Wii U eShop)

Dreamcaster-X

@JeanOfmArc I agree completely!! The thing is Wayforward included 3 levels of difficulty and if you can't make it through on just the easy mode then you'd have problems with the simplest of platformers because it wasn't hard at all but great for newcomers. Normal is where the challenge comes around & even then it's more than doable with a little effort.

Re: The Wonderful 101 Demo Coming to Europe Today

Dreamcaster-X

I'm far from a Nintendo fanboy. I respect Nintendo but I don't worship every game they make. I get crap all the time for stating I didn't care for Skyward Sword & I can't stand how they screwed up Paper Mario:Sticker Star, I was merely stating that the game isn't that difficult if you pay attention to the clues & prompts & I don't remember anyone calling anyone a troll for what it's worth!

Re: The Wonderful 101 Demo Coming to Europe Today

Dreamcaster-X

Well the game was created by Platinum Games, Nintendo is only publishing it but alas Nintendo gets dogged for repeating their franchises over & over & when a potentially awesome new franchise springs up people complain for them trying something new & different???? WTH?????

Re: The Wonderful 101 Demo Coming to Europe Today

Dreamcaster-X

Well the problem is alot of people just don't want to learn how to play games anymore. They want to be taught how to do every single maneuver in the game without trying stuff for themselves. Hence "why can't Metroid crawl?" The controls took me about a half hour to get the hang of but once I started paying attention to the prompts I was axle to pull off some cool moves & the game got easier & more fun too. Nobody seems to have patience to learn gameplay anymore. It's disheartening.
