Yeah Capcom really did their part on the VC, they've almost done a better job than Nintendo, now that I think about it, they have done a better job than Nintendo has. That's just sad!!!
Splinter Cell was my first Ubi title for Wii so I can't comment on other stuff they've done as I played the lackluster AC III on PS3. I think the campaign on Splinter Cell for me has been pretty smooth but I know their online is just downright abysmal so I guess it's a good thing I don't usually play the online counterparts. Hopefully AC IV's campaign is as smooth as Splinter Cell for Wii U owners buying that version but I think I'm going PS4 on this years AC.
@ThomasBW84 Yeah, it's done very well on Wii U, It has a large Miiverse community & IMO was one of if not the premier launch title for Wii U. It got more play in my house than anything. When friends would come over we'd start with Nintendoland but it always seemed like they quickly wanted to switch to Racing Transformed. The 5 player aspect due to the Gamepad player getting his own screen was brilliant and helped demonstrate the Wii U's true potential for multiplayer gaming. Sadly, many games have not taken advantage of this fact. I'm looking at you Splinter Cell!!! Nevertheless it's a fantastic racing game & is more than worthy of being held in the same esteem as the Mario Kart series. I can't believe a sequel hasn't been announced yet!!
I've been avoiding Mii-verse right now. It's tough because I'm still playing Splinter Cell & Wonderful 101 & I like checking on the communities daily but seeing screenshots of Zelda was making me almost buy the digital version. I actually almost clicked purchase but then took a look at the cover art & knew I'd hate myself later for not waiting so I'm just taking temptation out of sight. = )
Edit, ok watching that awesome trailer didn't help any!!! LOL!! I'll just replay Link To The Past for a quick hit of Zelda awesomeness to tide me over then!
Just goes to show that Japan is moving farther away from console gaming & embracing portables way faster than the rest of the world. I've been to Japan so I understand why but I just don't see it happening in the US or Europe on the same level per capita speaking.
What a beautiful looking title. The art style & graphics really pop in HD. This looks like the 3rd great Sonic game in a row for Sega!!! My pre-order has been in long ago.
Just played Timesplitters 2 a few weeks ago on my Wii/Gamecube input. I think it has aged pretty well. Took me a moment to readjust to the controls but I was fine after that.
Nintendo just needs to keep being Nintendo but some things have improved with how they're now communicating with the customers directly. That was a big deal for them but I think they're now seeing the benefits of that instead of keeping everything so secretive. At this point, the Wii U probably will become just another Gamecube in terms of sales & I'm ok with that cause there's gonna be killer software for it and what doesn't come to the Wii U I will just play on my PS4.
@Alshain01 I agree whole heartedly except Final Fantasy 12 to me was the last great FF game. Everything else after has just been CG rubbish. THE SNES & PSone Squaresoft games were still it's Golden Age though. So many amazing games got churned out in those years.
@-KwB- It's been like this for a while now. They buy portables more than home consoles now. I mean I was in Tokyo for the 1st time right before the earthquake and everybody & I mean everybody was playing a 3DS or PSP. Adults, children, & Seniors. It's not like that here in the U.S. Everybody games there but they just do it on the go now.
@FMillman Yeah, the 3DS did outsell the bog 2 consoles here the last couple of months. I also never understood why the consoles never got a full fledged Pokemon game instead of the quirky spin-offs. A Pokemon Wii U version would push consoles.
I'm hoping GTA V keeps me occupied enough that I can avoid buying the digital copy of this long enough to make it to the physical disc release date of October 4th.
Yeah it's a combination of several factors. Reggie pointed out one of it's most glaring issues being a lack of software and he'd be right but the name issue & the system looking similar to the old Wii is still very confusing to some people. I think he overestimates consumer intelligence. If anything, I think they have learned to drop the "Wii" moniker on their next console and to have a steady stream of software.
@Emblem EXACTLY!!! There have been sales and bundles which brought the cost down to $299 but it's the internet & people wanna be compensated for every little travesty in their lives. It's quite sad actually, especially over $50!!!
NOBODY had a gun to any of these peoples heads forcing them to buy the Wii U at launch. Price drops happen after consoles come out, IT ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE internet crybabies!!
I'll get around to getting this eventually but there's just way too many games coming out right now that I need to play first. Had it come out in February when there was nothing to play I would have scooped it up but it's the fall season and I have my purchases mapped out for the rest of the year. I'm not intentionally punishing Ubisoft but seriously why would you release this game against such giant behemoths like GTA, Windwaker, Sonic, etc....
This game just exudes the wacky Japanese humor in every fiber of its being so why wouldn't they think it will sell well??? This doesn't bode well for the North American release. I'm definitely getting it but with all the other big titles hitting in September/October I have a feeling this game is just gonna be completely lost in the shuffle.
This will help sell a few more systems, that's for sure. Honestly at this point, they should go all old school & include Mario Bros U as the pack in with every console sold.
It's an endless cycle. The 3rd parties release half assed ports on the Wii U with missing content & features, then claim they aren't selling software because nobody buys it. Well DUH, your customer base aren't idiots.
@JeanOfmArc I agree completely!! The thing is Wayforward included 3 levels of difficulty and if you can't make it through on just the easy mode then you'd have problems with the simplest of platformers because it wasn't hard at all but great for newcomers. Normal is where the challenge comes around & even then it's more than doable with a little effort.
These Wii U articles are like broken records. The issue with these types of articles is everyone knows the Wii U is selling poorly and everyone also knows that there is a flood gate of software that started this month and will continue until December which will help boost the Wii U sales. Let's wait til after December for anymore of these.
I'm far from a Nintendo fanboy. I respect Nintendo but I don't worship every game they make. I get crap all the time for stating I didn't care for Skyward Sword & I can't stand how they screwed up Paper Mario:Sticker Star, I was merely stating that the game isn't that difficult if you pay attention to the clues & prompts & I don't remember anyone calling anyone a troll for what it's worth!
Well the game was created by Platinum Games, Nintendo is only publishing it but alas Nintendo gets dogged for repeating their franchises over & over & when a potentially awesome new franchise springs up people complain for them trying something new & different???? WTH?????
It's not that difficult of a game. Ninja Gaiden is a difficult game, this is nowhere near as difficult. I was able to start clearing enemies easily after 30 minutes & I would consider myself an average player.
Well the problem is alot of people just don't want to learn how to play games anymore. They want to be taught how to do every single maneuver in the game without trying stuff for themselves. Hence "why can't Metroid crawl?" The controls took me about a half hour to get the hang of but once I started paying attention to the prompts I was axle to pull off some cool moves & the game got easier & more fun too. Nobody seems to have patience to learn gameplay anymore. It's disheartening.
@MAN1AC Yeah I agree, the gameplay really just "clicks" after learning the controls. Stick with it people, it doesn't hold your hand but by experimenting you will learn some cool tricks & find secret areas!
Man after getting accustomed to the controls this game is a BLAST!! Took me about a half hour but now I'm kicking booty!! God this game is so much fun. Thank you Platinum for what's sure to be another stellar game!!

Re: Interview: Ubisoft on Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag's Place in the Franchise, and Returning to Wii U
@Warruz As would I just for comparisons sake but they've almost exclusively used the PS4 version in every single demo I've watched.

Re: Monster Hunter 4 Shifts Over 1.7 Million Retail Units In Two Days
Ok Capcom, the 3DS version sold extremely well, now it's time to focus on bringing it to the Wii U!!!!!
Re: Video: This Tokyo Game Show Sonic Lost World Trailer is Rather Impressive
That Emerald Coast inspired level looks AWESOME!!!
Re: Review: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist (Wii U)
OUCH, a 7??? This is the best Splinter Cell since Chaos Theory. Ubi nailed it for the most part, this is easily an 8 or 9.
Re: Hands On: Assault Android Cactus
This will not fly for most Wii U gamers as apparently The Wonderful 101 is just "too hardcore" for them. This might be too difficult. ; )
Re: Rumour: Wii U New Super Mario Bros. and New Super Luigi U Hardware Bundle Sighted
Takes me back to the Super NES days.....good times, good times...
Re: Video: The Wind Waker HD's New Features Are Shown Off, Along With Gorgeous Visuals
That's the best promotional trailer for Windwaker HD yet!!! The upgraded lighting is amazing. Gonna be so hard waiting on the physical copy!!

Re: Contra III: The Alien Wars Listing Points to Virtual Console Releases
Best Contra game in the series & one of the best SNES games of all time!!!
Re: Leaked Ubisoft Games Confirmed, but Skipping Nintendo Platforms
Very misleading headline, most of these are tablet titles. I hate these tactics sites use for clicks.
Re: TimeSplitters Rewind "A Possibility" On Wii U, But Don't Get Your Hopes Up

Re: Review: Angry Birds Trilogy (Wii U)
This should be a $9.99 or less downloadable title.
Re: WayForward Hopes To Release Wii U Version of Mighty Switch Force! 2 in October
Oh and WTH are "high definition interstitial screens"??Never heard that term used before.

Yeah, the software drought is definitely over!! Now the problem is too many games but I AM NOT COMPLAINING!!!! = )

Yeah, the 3DS is outselling PS3 & 360 in North America already so it's gonna EXPLODE when Pokemon releases!!
Re: The Wii U Continues to Struggle in Japanese Charts
Well on the flipside, half of those titles are Nintendo 3DS titles. So I guess it ain't all bad but man the Wii U is struggling something fierce.
Re: Sonic Generations Will Cost $29.99 On The North American 3DS eShop
Great Sonic game. One of the best ever actually but I got the console version for like $20 so this price does not compute.

@siddyp00h Well it's not like Konami is beating down their door for a Metal Gear Solid port either. It's not just Western Studios.

EPIC insight!!!! On a side note I have my Wii U version ordered along with some extra characters & playsets.
