I logged into my account which I usually only do for directs for the sole purpose of saying: What are you even talking about? The series was dead and gone long before 3DS was ever released.

Not sure how I feel about this one. The guy definitely deserves prison time and there definitely needs to be a message sent out - it sucks for him that he was the one who got caught and made an example of, but like another poster said, if you can’t do the time then don’t do the crime.

However…it is a fact that people who have dealt drugs to children, or “touched” children (or adults for that matter) have gotten off easier than this! This guys whole life is ruined whereas people who do way more serious crime get off so much easier. Where are the examples being made of those people?

Would give anything for it to be a pseudo-E3 direct announcement!!

I think I read about this having the same producer as 428 Shibuya Scramble or something. Does it have a similar feel at all? That was my first and so far only FMV game and I loved it.

Oh I didn’t realize it was going to feature the same cast as the original. Hype through the roof now, the payoff will be worth the wait.

Does anyone else remember, years ago, some indie dev was making a football game “with no rules” featuring historical figures for characters? He made a big deal about posting concept art that wound up literally just being clip art that he treated like a masterpiece. What ever happened to that?

If you like Warriors or One Piece you’ll like this.

Especially if you like Warriors - the aerial combat is a freaking great addition to the core gameplay, and they changed keeps to being sections of the map instead of walled-in square areas. Makes for way more interesting map design, I hope this is a permanent change for the series.

This might be the best April Fool’s yet since it falls right in line with the actual leak about the HD remasters. Had me for a second, kudos to the author.

I’m so glad to see the series back in action after being in limbo for what felt like forever. I sure hope that it is here to stay this time.

I’m surprised, it looks like a fairly simple game. But there is a lot of stuff going on and with two shovel knight games coming up, even if they’re both spin offs, I can’t complain.

This is easily the best Mega Man collection that’s been put out yet. I don’t mean the quality of the games themselves (although I think it wins in that regard too) but in terms of filters, options, extras, emulation quality, etc. I can only imagine how great the BN collections that are totally coming will be.

This first pass was well worth it to me. Only character I didn’t really care for was Terry, and while I’m disappointed that they ended on Byleth it’s not an inherently bad pick.

Excited that the hype train isn’t even halfway over yet, only 5/11 characters are announced. Since it goes until next December that also means we get two more big E3 reveals, so that’s fun.

The whole censorship thing is hilarious. This isn’t some work of art by gifted visionaries, it’s a piece of work designed to sell. And guess what, pandering to the lowest common denominator sells. The creeps who won’t buy because they upped the ages and tuned out teenage girls in bikinis deserve every insult they get. It’s good to have a company who won’t compromise for these folks.

I didn’t like the idol crap any more than anyone else but the actual game play, dungeons, crafting, skills, and content was absolutely top-notch. This was my JRPG of the gen until DQXI came out and I will say with a straight face that I liked it more than Persona 5 (probably cause I’m a sucker for the more happy-go-lucky feel).

Got almost all of the achievements done on Wii U, now I’ll get them all done on Switch!

That’s pretty neat. This was my favorite turn based RPG in years (especially now that I just don’t have the drive for them like I used to) and I’m really hyped to replay it. Maybe I’ll go for all of the achievements/studio awards this time.

I just can’t get over how these eSports people and YouTube people think any big company “needs” them or owes them anything. These people make a damn living off simply playing games, no company in the world owes them a cent.

I have been dying laughing about this whole thing. If you can stomach the idol crap then there is an incredibly fun RPG here. I can’t even attempt to get into the mindset that one would skip it for covering up anime characters.

It’s a nice ego boost looking at people who get upset about that, if nothing else.

Have to admit, I way prefer this drip feed of info compared to the huge “reveal everything” we got in past games. We haven’t even seen the middle evos yet! As much as I have been disappointed with game freak lately, going into a Pokémon game totally blind will be a lot of fun.

While I’m enjoying it and the Copen gameplay is as fun as GV2, this game feels pretty cheap in comparison. Like there’s no materials, no level challenges, no equippable items, etc. Unless I’m somehow missing them all?

They’ve done a ton to upgrade the game since day one, I dropped around new year’s, then picked up again in April for the FEH collab and haven’t been able to stop since.

Also haven’t spent a cent since picking back up and I’m still able to keep up with the current endgame content despite my break. Very generous game. I always thought it was because of Nintendo’s influence but seeing Mario Kart and Dr Mario I wonder if it’s because of Cygames instead

I’m excited to try it. Hopefully the micro transactions will be light - between DENA and Nintendo it could go either way. Dragalia Lost has been incredible so far, and Cygames once went on record talking about how they could have made more money but Nintendo kept them reined in. So I’m not giving up hope until I play it tomorrow and see for myself.

Really excited to try this game out. Yes it has micro transactions but we know nothing about the pricing or the need to use them. The video explicitly says you can get characters and kart pieces from these world tour events, so we’ll have to see how the game actually plays out.

Fantastic. I’ve been working on 4 on my phone during downtime at work - but held off on 1-3 in hopes of a Switch release (I was thinking NES online app, but what the heck I’ll take em.)

I am so excited that these are finally here. And the selection is great! I just need them to start on DKC and get Kirby Super Star out and this will be perfect for me.

Not that this doesn’t look good but I really wish they would just get King if Cards out. By Deecember it’ll have been nearly three years in development! And originally they said they were working on it side by side with Plague in order to get it out faster lol

@VmprHntrD haha, people are crazy. Ultimately they’re just loud voices on a message board - the reality is that the majority doesn’t mind these practices considering that these games do fine. If you don’t like it, don’t play it. Personally I’m withholding judgment until I’ve given it a try and Dragalia definitely gives me hope that it’ll be a good game.

It’s not that I disagree in theory, but we really need to wait and see how the game is first. Also, Dragalia Lost provides an example of generous they might (stress on the “might”) be. I’m cautiously excited.

For any naysayers, just look at Dragalia Lost - the game started with nearly useless “wyrmprints” that give small abilities in the summoning pool and a cost of 1,500 in-game currency to summon. Due to player reaction they removed the prints and lowered the cost down to 1,200 currency without changing any pricing and the game is as rewarding as ever. Plus they’re always giving out free stuff.

I wasn’t big on Dr Mario World but I’m hoping Kart will impress.

Very good game, but with how poorly GfB treated PS4 players (horribly optimized with no patch in sight, no DLC, no communication) I absolutely will not be buying day one. Let’s not forget how they treated Switch players at the start as well.

Maybe I’ll buy on a good sale but they’ve ruined any goodwill in my eyes.

And it will be very effective for me. It’s sucked going on two weeks with my Switch in repairs but I’m glad I just got it done.

This is amazing, the end of the loot box era might finally be in sight. Once people see how bad the rates are hopefully they’ll stop buying them, and hopefully the concept will begin to fade.

Personally one of the reasons that I really enjoy and continue to play this game is because of how little fan service it has - even the two summer outfits we’ve seen so far haven’t been remotely fan servicey. Not the game is totally clean, which it doesn’t need to be, but not pandering to the lowest common denominator is something I can support.

Tons of Gamestop I’ll buy if this comes to the US

This was by far the worst in the series for me, the puzzles mostly felt like cheap tricks or stupid answers rather than real brain teasers and the story beats were just laughable. Not that the other Layton games didn’t have stupid twists, but this game is utterly filled with random plot points and childish cases.

I guess if you haven’t played this yet then maybe it’s worth picking up the iOS or 3DS versions, certainly not worth switch tax though.

My all time favorite Pokémon family, hope I can nab a shiny.

The only thing that it would really hurt to not hear anything about is SNES online.

Other than that it's all about B-listers like you mentioned in the article - Warioware/land, Mario Golf, Kid Icarus, Pikmin, Rhythm Heaven, and so on.

I think that this will be a solid yet unsurprising year. We’ll get more info on games we know about, maybe a couple new fall/winter releases (maybe Mario Kart 9 or Odyssey 2?) and hopefully start filling out the system’s list of b-list games - Mario Golf or Mario vs DK would be great for me.

Also SNES online please holy crap, since we know it’s coming I hope we hear soon. Probably won’t launch until September though.

EDIT: Lots of Mario in this post. What can I say, Maker 2 has me hyped.

This was such a good game, can’t wait to finally get the DLC. It’s a shame they didn’t mention any upcoming Katana Zero content though.

Oh man, I would have really enjoyed the first game if not for the technical issues. Hopefully this performs better.

Unironically excited for this, both it and the movie game (and Barnyard's game) were actually fun, well-made titles. Definitely not a common thing back in those days.
