Niantic and The Pokémon Company have revealed that the next Community Day event in Pokémon GO will feature none other than Mudkip.
As always, you can expect to find plenty of the featured Pokémon available for a limited time in the wild, sitting there patiently waiting for you to come along and catch them. Mudkip is a Water-type Pokémon first introduced in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire as one of the three starter options, and follows other starters - Treecko and Torchic - in the Community Day line-up.
The event will offer three times the usual experience for catching Pokémon and users can benefit from three-hour long Lure Modules. Usual trends would suggest that evolving a Mudkip into a Marshtomp, and then a Swampert during the event, will give you a special move.
The Mudkip Community Day will take place on 21st July from 4pm - 7pm for your local time. The starting time has been pushed back owing to the potential for warmer weather during the summer months.

This is an awful time for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere. Many public parks are closed by that time, the sun sets around 5:15pm and it’s often not safe after dark especially in dark park areas. Not everyone lives in the Northern Hemisphere Niantic, why not just have differing local times for each region?

Finally a good one! The last several have been so lame I skipped them outright. Slakoth was so pointless. Slayking's shiny form just looks like he is sitting in a shadow, and he still doesn't have a fast attack that deals any damage. Treeko was okay I guess, but his shiny isn't great, kinda looks like toothpaste blue.
But shiny Swampert?! Heck yes!
Also 4-7 is a little odd. Usually it's 12-3 or 3-6.

@Heavyarms55 I might have to disagree. Gen 3 had the worst starters from any gen. treeko gets a free pass bus his evolutions aren’t great. Don’t get me started on Blaziken.
I wish they would do something a little rarer again. There are still plenty of players who missed out on things like the Dratini day.

@RadioHedgeFund Sorry to get you started, but what's wrong with the Kung Fu Chicken? Only problem I can think of is it started an ongoing trope in the series where the Fire type starter evolves into a Fire-Fighting type.
They just keep pushing that start time back. It’s gonna be in the middle of the night eventually
@KayFiOS it’s the ridiculous flares, taloned feet and weird wrists. I was genuinely shocked at the amount of love it got during the fave Pokemon vote last week 😂 It has nothing on Infernape.
And what the heck is a Swampert supposed to be?!?
