It would be a good move to have made a stockpile of Mii Fighter Costumes that they could trickle release through the next year or two. When a multi-player heavy game stops receiving any form of content, a part of the excitement is gone. I know costumes don't change anything with the gameplay like a character or a stage does, but it's for that exact reason they could continue releasing them.
Renegade Kid needs to stick to 2D. The visuals and gameplay for his 2D games are great, and something fans like to see. Mutant Mudds was suppose to have a 3D game on the DS too, and it never turned out. Seems all the problems lie in 3D.
They could take a break from the fighting genre and make the next "Smash" a different genre. Smash is a really good game, but it also has the appeal of being a crossover of so many Nintendo games. Because of Smash, I feel Nintendo has held back on crossovers in other games to make that appeal more lasting to Smash.
I want a Smash MOBA on NX and have it be supported for years with new characters, amiibo support, costumes, and competitive play.
Not compete? What a stupid statement. Everyone making a game is competing for attention. People can only play one game at a time, Nintendo can do their own thing, but Xbox/PS will never not be competitors.
The post-release Smash content has been fun to get hyped over, but I refuse to buy DLC. I already have my mains, and the money could go towards new games instead of a character I will play with just a few times.
My DLC refusal is for all Nintendo games. I own all the games that offer it, but the good news is that I feel all of these games are completely 100% fine without it, and I am content with them. When you add the DLC and the price together with the actual game, the content per dollar ratio gets much worse.
@Nintendzoey I really wanted Banjo & Kazooie in too. Microsoft would want to use Banjo's appearance to drum up hype for his new game (if ever they decide to make it), similar to what Squenix is doing with Cloud. Even if Microsoft does all they could to make Banjo possible, it would still have to overcome the stigma of being a western character. Diddy Kong is the only character in Smash with a western background.
All this Newcomer art is fantastic. I didn't think I would get so excited over artwork! Link and Cloud don't appear to be making eye contact and it bothers me.
Bayonetta doesn't feel like the winner of the ballet. She feels like a Nintendo mandated DLC character. This isn't to say she isn't a good choice, but I don't get the feeling this character was the 'fan pick' we were going to get. Smash fans get to vote in a ballet for ANY character they want, and Bayonetta wins? It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Again, great character, great move set, but why would the FANS use their one time pick to choose her.
The sales of the game appear fairly low compared to other games out there, if so many fans want her in, why did the game not sell better? I think she was up there on the list, but I don't believe there wasn't a better option ahead of her. Nintendo can make an argument she is the top choice, and based on their motive they wouldn't be wrong, but I think a case could be made for another character if we were allowed to see the list.
For example the inklings might have been above Bayonetta, but they seem too big to use for DLC. The Inkings have posterboy written all over them for Smash 5. Bayonetta, to Nintendo, is the better DLC choice. Her inclusion will move Bayonetta 2 sales as well (and Nintendo would be smart to have a little 10-25% sale on the eShop versions soon)
Gen 4 is my least favorite. It felt cheap for a DS game. Previous Pokemon games have felt like they took advantage of the hardware the best they could while retaining the 2D image. This one did not and it feels ugly. They filled out the DS a lot nicer with Gen 5, including better UI and fully animated sprites.
This game looks incredible. The direction they took shows how talented they really are. Maybe one day they will be able to take the Steamworld franchise into 3D like what happened to Popcaps Plants Vs. Zombies.
They were certainly capable of making Mario Kart 7 DLC, but at the time it wasn't as common for Nintendo. Nintendo never gave the impression that anyone should have expected DLC from it. Things are different now, Nintendo has successful experience in DLC delivery. The next handheld Mario Kart will carry the expectation of DLC and won't be able to get away without it like MK7 did.
I get the feeling Nintendo saw how awesome the dual screens were for the DS and wanted to bring that experience to the living room. The problem is the 2 are not even comparable. With the DS you could look at the bottom screen without moving your head, or even in your peripheral vision. Switching focus between the 2 screens was seamless, It didn't work that way with the Wii U. Still, without the touch screen on the controller, a game like Super Mario Maker would not be as awesome as it is. Interesting to see if they keep a screen or not. I still think a screen would be great, but make it less of the focus and also more like those 'paper' screens on those ereaders.

The Pokemon games just feel like games you play when your bored and waiting. They are a complete waste of time that could be spent playing better games. Shuffle is made to be addictive and drive the player to keep collecting to feel a sense of accomplishment. It's a trap, Pokemon shuffle is a bad game.
This is horrific! They are censoring an entire race of people! They are making the statement that just having representation is offensive. Screw Square, and screw this game.
Not interested in either of them. In fact, I'm hardly interested in hearing about awards for games I already enjoy. I only care about any new content we might hear about from Nintendo. Sure, I want Nintendo games to win, but it's really not a big deal.
What also made this direct a success was the community had a real good understanding of what to expect. The hype was there of course, but it wasn't wild.
I want to see a new costume first-hand. Ever since this event thing went live I have been 'spoiled' by some online source for every costume. Not a big deal and I'm not upset with anyone. I know it's just the way it goes, but it would be nice.
Keep in mind this is a 2013 game being reviewed in late 2015. This game was originally released before Pokemon had 3D visuals, coming out a few months before Pokemon X & Y. Imagine reviewing this game before playing any 3D Pokemon games, then imagine reviewing this game after play 2 3D Pokemon games. Doesn't change Yo-kai Watch at all, but it may make such a visual spectacle less appreciated, even though it still looks better than ORAS.
Nothing wrong with the review, just worth keeping in mind.
The stubbornness against a new Pokemon Snap all these years irritates me. Truly a missed opportunity with the Wii U and 3DS. Thankfully we got a $15 Pokedex!
I want the draw to be a new pro-controller with clickable scroll-wheel bumpers so bad. It could be revolutionary for what we think of in standard controllers. The more I think about , the more I want it.
Also the NX jumping in as the only 4K console for half a decade would be bold.
Doubt it will be, but I hope it does make them reconsider the story formula Pokemon puts in every game. Pokemon needs strong competition and a sales dip for us to see some truly fresh ideas out of the main series.
McDonalds is pulling out all the tricks because of 7 straight quarterly declines in America. People are much wiser to the extremely low-quality and hazardous ingredients McDonalds puts in their food. This is why McDonalds just opened up their breakfast menu all day. Desperate times, desperate measures.
We know so little about this app. His brash statements are making him look foolish (again). He seriously thought Nintendo was going to move it's library to mobile where the standard input is nothing but taps and swipes? What a dum-dum.
So these points sound like they will be used to obtain things like Club Nintendo. And you can get them while playing? Remember when Xbox first revealed Gamerscore and people thought you could use them to buy games? It could be a similar to that, with achievements unlocking points. I am sure that these points you get in achievements will be pennies compared to what you get from a full-on purchase, but a penny saved is a penny earned.
@Nintendo_Ninja Which makes you wonder what was the plan for this year since they were working on it being a 2015 launch? The best explanation would be that they have known it would be delayed for quite some time.
So far it doesn't really sound like a game. Granted, we know VERY little about it.
@Xenocity Sell out gamers? What are you even talking about. Retro Studios isn't tied down in shackles to the Metroid franchise because of the success they created. They have an excellent track record and have every right to want to try new things. They are certainly FOR the gamer, in fact more so now than ever. They ooze passion.
@ShikabaneHime13 This is why sometimes demos can be a bad thing. Also your party feels like a 'rental' where as in the full game you care much more about your party and leveling them up. Demos for RPG games are tough, especially for ones where you capture and battle with 'minions'. The best demo I have seen for such a game was for Denpamen, which basically gives you access to the beginning of the game and everything carries over if you decide to purchase it.
The game didn't captivate me, but it looks absolutely beautiful. It made me want Pokemon to look just as good, and I hope it raised the bar for Pokemon's visuals.
I remember thinking after the Digital Event how I can't wait for the next direct to wash that horrible E3 out of my mouth. At least Super Mario Maker was a nice mint.
This is great news. It helped that SMM really took on with streamers. It Is still going strong too. People want to watch others take on notorious courses. This is why Nintendo eventually needs DLC to re-invigorate the community while also re-temping those who have yet to purchase.

Smash MOBA with amiibo unlocking exclusive costumes or even the characters themselves.
