The replacement for Club Nintendo is going to be an indicator of how Nintendo is going to approach their new generation. If the community doesn't like it, it could show signs Nintendo's still a bit out of touch.
The Wii U didn't have this feeling I'm getting from the NX. I can't help but think the NX is Nintendo's big console after the Wii, and the Wii U was merely a stepping stone/place holder console until the ideas and structure for the NX could become a reality.
