I'm terrible at rhythm games and don't really enjoy them. This game looks awesome to me, but until they implement an option to play without the rhythm aspect, I think I'll pass
@xanderten50 from comparing the eShop pages, it looks like this version of the game has one more story path (5 instead of 4). This version is also over triple the size of the original and costs $2 more (without the launch day sale). I can't see any other obvious changes though
@SwitchVogel I couldn't believe the price of this on Switch! It's fun enough on my phone, but definitely not worth the extra price tag. Thank you for mentioning that it has no expanded features and really is just an accursed "Switch tax".
@Mattock1987 Akuto: Showdown is a lot of fun, unfortunately it's a multiplayer game that lacks online. So unless you have some friends to play with in person, it's not worth your time. The game would benefit immensely from online play, but the developers have stated they have no plans to support online.
Mana Spark is okay if you enjoy rogue-likes. Not great or anything, but worth $2.
Dungeon Top looks interesting to me, but the few Switch reviews I can find on it appear to be a bit mixed.
Yeah, sure, let's trust EA. They always put the health, safety, and care of people before profit... I fear for the future of gaming with loot boxes, micro transactions, and now NFT's
This really looks like a shined up port of a game called OK Golf. I have it on my phone and it's a lot of fun, with the secret courses being cruelly difficult.
@Jmjfrank Pyra and Mythra are first party (or maybe second party?) characters. So far, I think they're my favorite additions! For third party characters, I'm appreciating Sephiroth and Cloud a lot more while playing the FFVII Remake, but Banjo and Kazooie are still the most hype for me.
Basically all this does is add macros to the Switch. While these are complicated macros, that's still all they are, automated inputs. As long as it's not used in an online competitive game (say instant building walls in Fortnite or something), I don't see the harm.
Gonna have to try out the demo for this one. The combat is heavily inspired by Undertale, and I was not a fan of that... But everything else about this game looks good
@Fighter_Hayabusa I just prefer to play mine docked. I only ever play it portable if I'm going on a long trip or something (and even then, I have a portable dock for when I get to where I'm going)
I'm excited for this one! I could never really get into the original (on DS) because of the controls, but the story, art, and music all really appeal to me.
@Clod I'll agree that Soul Silver and Heart Gold are amazing games. I never actually played Fire Red or Leaf Green, but I did not like Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Compared to those, I would preferred playing the originals again with the updated battle mechanics (mainly the special split). I haven't really enjoyed a Pokémon game since X and Y (and those were still a little lackluster). That's 8 years. If Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are a full on by the books remake with graphical updates, I'll be happy, but I think there will still be quality of life updates and that makes me even happier! I can for sure say the thing that makes me most excited and hopeful is that GameFreak themselves aren't making this one. I just want a good mainline Pokémon game again
@spideyroxas Actually, I think these look great! Especially when compared to Sword and Shield. The chibi style looks good on Pokémon (in my opinion anyway).
What a terrible move by Versus Evil. Don't start selling a port on a console unless it can reliably run on that console. Is it at least playable or are bugs game breaking/significantly detrimental to gameplay?
I didn't even know Crackle was a thing. I see that it's free and ad-supported, so I'll be looking forward to the documentary! Hopefully this also comes to retail in some form
I've been fun having with this game! I'm really surprised it's scored so low here. The monsters I've been summoning have decent AI and do a great job of killing everything in the room for me. I've been a huge fan of the ranged weapons in the game such as the magic tomes and bows and prefer them over the melee attacks. This review also doesn't even seem to mention the co-op or IR codes...
@Samuel-Flutter that's Honey the Cat. She was an unfinished fighter in Sonic the Fighters who was fully finished and implemented in the 2012 console port of the game. Her inclusion in the picture makes me hopeful for some sort of Sonic the Fighters news
All the characters from Sonic the Fighters (including Honey the Cat!) with Mighty and Ray? Come on Sonic the Fighters rerelease with extra content! Or better yet, a remaster/sequel!
The only thing missing from this game is an online feature. It's still a lot of fun on it's own, and a great game with friends in person, but online play would make this amazing.
If this were a re-release of 1 and 2, I'd be jumping on it! 3 just wasn't very good when I played through it on Wii U. It left me feeling disappointed because it ended too soon and I wasn't a fan of the new characters and having to switch between 3 captains (as opposed to just 2).
