A small step in the right direction at least, but it's still putting a bandage on a brain tumour. The fact we have to rely on the console manufacturing corporations to regulate this, not the government, is tragic in itself.
@Cynas I didn't even notice that until you said! I agree, by Zelda's standards they weren't anything amazing but they made interesting use of the touch screen, they're still worth a play. It speaks volumes about the quality of titles on the DS overall though.
@Metal_Gear_Mark You're bang on there, as much as I'm a huge fan of both series, Intelligent Systems have done a much better job of updating Fire Emblem in order to bring in new fans to the series and just generally improve the experience. Pokémon will always shift units because it's Pokémon, but Three Houses at the moment is much more worthy of people's money and attention, it feels like a culmination of all their 3DS efforts into a much bigger and better game. I want to be proved wrong about Sword and Shield, but I'm anticipating a very similar experience to X/Y and Sun/Moon.
As amazing as it is they went the extra mile to fit the whole game on the cart, I've been stung recently with Bloodstained and Mutant Year Zero being poor ports. Will hold fire until the reviews/gameplay videos are out post launch before deciding I think.
There's no hyperbole when I say this was one of, if not my most anticipated game this year. Day 1 purchase, could not get past the start screen until the patch launched later in the day, to then be met with some pretty horrific textures and resolution. The game is still 'playable', and as I don't have any other options I will power through, but I'd recommend everyone else either wait for a sale/patches or get it on XB1/PS4.
In a world where Doom/Wolfenstein/Witcher Switch ports exist, I don't see why this game in particular looks this darn bad. Hopefully like Bloodstained they can address it post launch.
@DarkLloyd patience is difficult when developers/publishers artificially stretch out the grind by drip feeding you the rewards to push you towards spending real cash.
I called this from day 1. Lay the groundwork with good reviews and get the player base in, then shoehorn in the microtranscations. Don't see why anyone expected any different from Craptivision.
It's great they're supporting the game post launch with so much content, but with it being Activision I'm wary this will turn into a lootbox/microtransaction situation... all this 'seasons' style unlocks is very suspicious. Especially with their track record (looking at you Black Ops 4)
I'm honestly fine with them not including every Pokémon, we're now fast approaching 700 overall, and it must take a huge amount of time and resource to programme all the animations. Even if they have the base models, they still have to update them in some ways to work on a newer, more powerful system. If they ported over all the 3DS models, we'd complain they were low quality for what the switch is capable of, but we also then complain when they don't bring them all. They really can't win. I don't think we'll be missing any fan favourites, but I won't be losing sleep if they remove Trubbish from Sword/Shield.
I was always very confused as to why they didn't do more DLC, they could have easily kept drip feeding a cup or two every year. Don't get me wrong I still play MK8 Deluxe on a weekly basis because it's that damn good, but I would happily have paid out for another handful of extra cups as the Egg and Triforce cups we're both excellent.
@Jayofmaya I was more referring to the artificially lengthened grinds in a lot of AAA games, that you can in theory get by playing but takes so long that it encourages you towards premium currency and/or lootboxes to unlock them quicker. Yea Mario Kart 8 can take a while to unlock stuff but you can only unlock them via playing and not paying.
As long as they're all unlocked via playing (like Mario kart) and not through grinding ridiculous amounts of hours and/or microtransactions I'll be okay...but we're watching you activision...
I found out the hard way with a similar scenario (albeit in a different industry) in my last job. Ultimately I feel no job is worth sacrificing your personal life or mental health for, but @banemus point on just leaving is ridiculous. People have families to feed and bills to pay, if it was as simple as just upping and offing when the going gets tough then Epic would probably have no employees. Or any large company for that matter. Unionise, coerce and force the executives to value their workforce more, everybody wins in the long run that way.
I probably wouldn't support this game even if it did come to Switch, EA have had the Star Wars licence for around 6 years now and all we've had is 2 sub-standard, micro-transaction riddled online shooters so I don't hold much hope for Fallen Order. I still hope it's great and that people enjoy it, but I won't lose sleep over it.
I think a lot of people will have the same issue as me...as much as I can't wait to play it, releasing just after Hellblade and on the same day as Cuphead puts this one on the backburner for the time being
I loved this title back on the original Xbox, I always thought it was underrated so whilst extremely unexpected, I'm really glad more people will have the chance to play this!
I dont see why it's so hard for developers/publishers to just be honest with fans, instead of showing a sub-standard product that's not representative of what they'll get (in turn making fans, like myself, sceptical to pre order), surely it's better to now show it and just say: 'we need more time to optimise the port before launch' ? I won't be mad. Honest.
This is ridiculous. They would have all been day 1 purchases for me but there's no way I'm forking out 90 quid for decade old games I already own and neither should anyone else. There's no reason for this price point outside of pure greed, sort it out Capcom! There's far too much good competition on the eshop to be wasting money on these.
@subpopz I too was mainly concerned over that more than the graphical downgrade as different levels of acceleration are key in later levels... never thought of the analog stick approach so will definitely try that! Thanks!
It's been mentioned before but my money is on scalebound... Microsoft and Platinum supposedly clashed over creative elements of development (more than likely things like the shoe in co op mode) and with Platinum having a great relationship with Nintendo i cant see why they wouldnt be interested in reviving it. It looked well into development by the time it was canned.
After previous Kickstarters like Yooka-laylee and mighty no.9 getting mixed responses I was sceptical of Bloodstained, however after playing through curse of the moon recently it will be a day 1 buy for me! Very excited to have a true spiritual successor to Castlevania after all these years!
@Shepdawg1 the full trials games are very different beasts, I'd seriously recommend giving them a go, there's plenty of content and challenge to go at.
3 is where the whole series fell off the cliff for me, I really had to force myself to finish it so I wouldn't pick it up. I could be tempted by an ezio collection or AC1 though...
Toot toot! All aboard the lawsuit express! Just a load of irrelevant C list celebrities trying to force their way back into the spotlight by taking a piece of Fortnite's success. I really couldn't give a monkeys about Fortnite, I can take it or leave it, but this is getting beyond absurd.
We should be paying attention to actual issues in this world...like soulja boy.
I don't really consider value to be measured by it's run time alone... if I have a great experience I'll remember then I'll pay, can't wait to get hold of this one!

A really solid game and well worth the price, you can even ignore the plastic tat for the most part and just play with a regular controller.
