Re: Romero Games Reportedly Shut Down Following Xbox Layoffs

Crono1973

@JS_Comics Nah, creativity has been dead for awhile. You are witnessing a reset in the gaming industry and it's needed. However, Xbox didn't need to do all of those layoffs, financially they are doing better than they ever have. Makes you wonder if Microsoft is preparing for a future where video game revenue decreases dramatically? Maybe they see the writing on the wall for this industry and are taking appropriate steps. Let's face it, the current model is not sustainable.

Re: Nintendo's Ability To Ban Switch 2 Consoles Has Landed It In Hot Water

Crono1973

@NFrealinkling No see you don't seem to understand how this works. The account is not banned, just buy a new console and log in. The hardware is banned and no account can sign in on that hardware. That means that if you buy a second hand banned console, you won't be able to log in with your account either. The console is severely limited and you may not even be able to set it up, in other words...bricked. Still on Nintendo's side?

Re: Fans Fight Back Against Nintendo Switch 2 Scalpers

Crono1973

@FlyingDunsparce If people wouldn't buy microtransaction, they would go away. Been saying this for years and it does absolutely nothing to change reality. You can only control what you do and the first thing you should control is to stop making meaningless statements and concentrate on something actionable like convincing ebay to stop scalpers. Individual people can do nothing except report them.

Re: Soapbox: The Trauma Of Giygas & Growing Up In EarthBound

@-wc- It's not about having 99 healing items. It's about knowing which items you will need to keep with you and which ones you can store and let's face it, the storage system is time consuming and irritating.

Don't let me stop you from enjoying the inventory system, I just don't like it myself and puts me off playing the game.

Re: Soapbox: The Trauma Of Giygas & Growing Up In EarthBound

Has to be one of the most overrated games. It would be fine, not great but fine with a better inventory system. By the SNES era, there was no need for a limited inventory system. Not even sure there was a need on the NES. I mean, it's only 2 bytes per item. Item number and quantity.

Re: Nintendo President Says Longer Game Development Cycles Are "Unavoidable"

Crono1973

These long development cycles are not sustainable. The longer a game takes to make, the more it costs and the more copies they have to sell. Customers will eventually get tired of ever increasing prices. Further, waiting 5 or more years between releases is also something customers will get tired of.

The long development cycle for a 2D Mario game makes no sense at all. The long development cycle to make Zelda in the same engine with many of same resources as the previous game also makes no sense. People saying 'it's ok Nintendo, take all the time you need' are not helping. Don't encourage these long development cycles.

Re: Nintendo Sets Its Sights On Switch Emulator Yuzu In New Lawsuit

Crono1973

@Dm9982 Emulators take time to make, they don't need to wait for a console to be dead before starting development on an emulator.

If a few people decide to play buggy games on early builds, that's their business and I really don't care but in order for the emulator to get better those early builds must exist. The sooner the better I say.
