@JS_Comics Nah, creativity has been dead for awhile. You are witnessing a reset in the gaming industry and it's needed. However, Xbox didn't need to do all of those layoffs, financially they are doing better than they ever have. Makes you wonder if Microsoft is preparing for a future where video game revenue decreases dramatically? Maybe they see the writing on the wall for this industry and are taking appropriate steps. Let's face it, the current model is not sustainable.
@Truegamer79 Except Panasonic had no hand in you breaking your microwave or killing your cat. All they did was sell you a microwave. Not comparable here because Nintendo is the one banning consoles.
@NFrealinkling No see you don't seem to understand how this works. The account is not banned, just buy a new console and log in. The hardware is banned and no account can sign in on that hardware. That means that if you buy a second hand banned console, you won't be able to log in with your account either. The console is severely limited and you may not even be able to set it up, in other words...bricked. Still on Nintendo's side?
@LuigiBlood 'It's been happening for years, why do people care now?' It's normal that things fly under the radar for a while before it finally hits a breaking point. Why don't people understand this?
@FlyingDunsparce If people wouldn't buy microtransaction, they would go away. Been saying this for years and it does absolutely nothing to change reality. You can only control what you do and the first thing you should control is to stop making meaningless statements and concentrate on something actionable like convincing ebay to stop scalpers. Individual people can do nothing except report them.
@nhSnork It's kinda silly to compare the Switch to the Vita. You may not this but the Switch and the Vita were made by different companies whereas the Switch and the Switch 2 are made by the same company. Why not just compare the Switch 2 to the Steam Deck or the ROG Ally?
Favorite sidequest on Switch eh? The double side quest of sliding the joy cons on. As a bonus, sometimes one of them slides up while your playing and you get to slide it back on.
@progx ...and in those days you got a manual, map and physical cartridge with lots of hardware inside. These days you get a little flash card, nothing else.
@-wc- It's not about having 99 healing items. It's about knowing which items you will need to keep with you and which ones you can store and let's face it, the storage system is time consuming and irritating.
Don't let me stop you from enjoying the inventory system, I just don't like it myself and puts me off playing the game.
Has to be one of the most overrated games. It would be fine, not great but fine with a better inventory system. By the SNES era, there was no need for a limited inventory system. Not even sure there was a need on the NES. I mean, it's only 2 bytes per item. Item number and quantity.
These long development cycles are not sustainable. The longer a game takes to make, the more it costs and the more copies they have to sell. Customers will eventually get tired of ever increasing prices. Further, waiting 5 or more years between releases is also something customers will get tired of.
The long development cycle for a 2D Mario game makes no sense at all. The long development cycle to make Zelda in the same engine with many of same resources as the previous game also makes no sense. People saying 'it's ok Nintendo, take all the time you need' are not helping. Don't encourage these long development cycles.
Time: whenever you like. Where to Watch: YouTube and various social media sites will have the highlights. What to Expect: Nothing! Allow yourself to be surprised instead of disappointed.
@johnvboy Ah so those of us who played the original should be happy to have half the framerate and pay current gen full price because the current generation gets to play it now?
I was hoping to see the ability to take on multiple troubles at once. Also, makes no sense why 3 generations later we can't get 60 fps and better graphics.
@spacely_sprockets Comparing PS2 to Switch, it’s worth bearing in mind that whereas people would only buy one PS2 per household, some households would have multiple Switches.
Also keep in mind that the industry/customers was much smaller back when the PS2 sold so much.
@johnvboy ...but a physical copy can be played on any 3DS or Wii U whereas digital copies are tied to one console. In other words, with digital copies, the games die with the console but with physical copies you need only replace the console.
@IceEarthGuard If they wanted to stay afloat they would have restocked retro games and consoles. It's obvious to me that they intended to go under when the clock ran out on them.
How long have they known this would eventually happen? Why weren't they restocking retro games and consoles for the last 15 years instead of going in the opposite direction and phasing them out? They did this to themselves.
@Dm9982 Emulators take time to make, they don't need to wait for a console to be dead before starting development on an emulator.
If a few people decide to play buggy games on early builds, that's their business and I really don't care but in order for the emulator to get better those early builds must exist. The sooner the better I say.
They are going to focus on bigger games and less on smaller games. I read it somewhere, probably D-Pad Life. That means fewer games because bigger games take so long to make.

Re: Shuhei Yoshida Says Sony Doesn't Really Consider Nintendo As Competition
Ok, you have neither a Switch 2 or a PS5. You have enough money for either one but not both. You have to choose one. That's called competition.

Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss On Switch 2's Name: Nintendo Created So Much "Brand Value"
@Dr_Lugae Let's try it this way: I suspect anyone who wanted Nintendo to abandon the Wii brand already don't want Nintendo to succeed.
How could a system that is very close to becoming the best selling game console ever not deserve a follow up?
How did that turn out?
Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss On Switch 2's Name: Nintendo Created So Much "Brand Value"
@Prizm Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series. Let's talk about bad names.

I was hoping for the name 'Not Steam Deck'.

Do away with pre-orders. Make people either go to the store to buy them or buy them through a store front at or after the release date.

Re: Nintendo Sets Its Sights On Switch Emulator Yuzu In New Lawsuit
@Dm9982 They would like to kill resale, emulators and flat out ownership of games so they can repackage and resell them to you over and over again.
Hopefully they never win that fight.
Re: Nintendo Sets Its Sights On Switch Emulator Yuzu In New Lawsuit
@Dm9982 Emulators take time to make, they don't need to wait for a console to be dead before starting development on an emulator.

Re: Talking Point: What Would Make You Happy To Give Up Physical Games And Go 100% Digital?
@Polvasti So you would be better off buying physical and reselling once you have played it once. Your argument favors physical, not digital.
Re: Nintendo Sets Its Sights On Switch Emulator Yuzu In New Lawsuit
@Toastmaster Maybe Xbox consoles get low priority for emulation because most people just don't care.
Re: Nintendo Sets Its Sights On Switch Emulator Yuzu In New Lawsuit
