@mariomaster96 We aren't talking about buying every game that releases (just 2 that are months apart) but your hyperbole demonstrates the weakness of your argument.
@NinjaWaddleDee Right, a Pokemon fan can wait months or play Pokemon now AND in a few months. We are talking about Pokemon fans here because non-fans wouldn't be waiting for the next Pokemon game anyway.
I do prefer the older games to the newer ones and I do prefer a more linear experience. Exp share is fine with me and having access to the boxes at all times something I can take or leave. The effect of the moves being shown is also a take it or leave it thing.
@13AM_Alex It's a video game. Stop losing sleep over a video game- one that's for kids!
I bet that if they did a survey it would be found that most Pokemon players are NOT kids. Especially where a remake of a 14 year old game is concerned.
Also, why do you think kids deserve lower quality products?
@westman98 I don't see how this Pokemon Day 1 patch is any different from Day 1 patches in other games. If the general public didn't complain about those Day 1 patches, they won't complain about this one.
What's different about lootboxes in most games and the ones people made a big stink about in that EA Star Wars game a few years ago? Nothing, that was just the trigger.
@westman98 Those were examples of how the masses don't always react to things immediately. A better example might be when people finally made a stink about lootboxes in that EA Star Wars game, that was a trigger or when Cyberpunk released in a severely broken state, people finally got upset.
@anoyonmus a bigger question is why people are complaining that Pokémon does this day 1 patch while practically every other franchise does the same exact or similar thing for a long time
The masses don't generally complain as much about things the first time they happen. It takes a while before enough people get upset with a thing to make a stink.
For example, you may see male suicide rates getting alot more attention lately. 'Why now?', you may ask since the stats are nothing new, it's always been this way. It's just the way things work with the masses. It wasn't too long ago that homosexual rights were frowned upon by the masses and then everything flipped. Why? It's just the way the masses work.
Sometimes it just takes the right trigger. Something that has been a long time coming shouldn't be frowned upon when it arrives just because it didn't arrive sooner.
@SwitchForce Seems like alot of NintenDoomed has come out of the wood works now with this latest news.
I know right, don't people know that there is only one acceptable opinion and that is Nintendo is the greatest and most successful company now and forever? /s
@JustMonika The Switch is the first Nintendo hardware I've bought since the Nintendo 64 in the 90's
Holy cow, you missed out on many great games between the GBA, DS, 3DS, Gamecube, Wii and Wii U. Well, I guess you get many of the Wii U games on the Switch but not all.
@Teksetter I'm sure Nintendo understands there will be hell to pay if their next console does not have backwards compatibility with the Switch.
I'm sure that Nintendo knows there will be hell to pay if they overcharge for the N64 games and the emulation is bad. That is why Nintendo didn't overcharge and the emulation is perfect. /s
Remember that time Nintendo released a hybrid that wasn't backward compatible with any previous console or handheld and then they got people to buy the games from previous gens again for $60 each. LOL...good times.
@Munchlax I would say that you should atleast wait until release to get a full review from other players (not the corporate reviewers) before determining it's just a direct Diamond/Pearl port.
They thought they could duplicate the success of the Wii with the Wii U. The Wii U had everything that the Wii did and then some but people were tired of motion controls at that point.
They made the Wii U look similar to the Wii and focused on the Gamepad on the box leading some people to believe it was just another iteration of the Wii with a different controller. Reusing the name didn't help with the confusion either.
If they try to capture the Switch lightning in a bottle two gens in a row, it will fail too. The hybrid concept is not new anymore and it's compromises become more apparent as time goes on as the competition brings much more powerful hardware making it hard to port games down to the Switch or it's successor.
@Munchlax Improved on Dp, but it makes no sense to use them as the base when a superior version already exists.
They did this with the remakes of Gold and Silver and Ruby and Sapphire. They didn't remake Crystal and Emerald so why would you expect them to remake the third game now? Were you just not aware that they are being consistent here?
@doodlewhizz To anyone thinking this is just a nostalgia driven made for TV- quality film chucked onto a subscription service for the sole purpose of QUANTITY, you're absolutely correct. Prepare for a lot of 'tech bad, family good' messaging.
I got one on the first restock, it comes in today. They should have limited them to one per account initially. That would have gone a long way to slowing down scalpers.
I don't understand the goal of this game. To collect 30 fruit and move on to the next level? To collect only melons or only lucky fruits? To unlock all the levels just to collect more fruits?
The thing that makes Mario 64 superior to all the other 3D Mario games is that you can go into a level and quickly get a star for atleast half of the game. The pace is just better and it makes for a more enjoyable experience. You don't even need to take advantage of shortcuts to quickly grab a star even though there are plenty of shortcuts. You can beat the game in a matter of hours if you want to.
@FernandoMachado I got one on a resupply a few days ago, blame scalpers, not Nintendo. The only thing more that they could have done is restrict the number bought from 4 to 1 for a few months.
