@GoldenSunRM Yeah, because that point is irrelevant. You're saying those games can just be ignored so my point is moot because "they don't count"

And I'll reiterate, FF mainline used to drop yearly w/o fuss. It's just normal for them to take forever now, So it's an issue when other companies can actually stay on track with development?

@UltimateOtaku91 Google said it's at 105 last time I checked. I'm not reading the rest of your deflection.

My point is back in the day, Final fantasy games used to drop every year. And nobody complained, but now when some other smaller company does it, It's oversaturation.
The scales for Final Fantasy are always lopsided.
Like the excuses for final fantasy 15 being in development hell, but the impatience with silk song, which is like 3 people and an indie project.

I have a weird take about this whole thing. And it's that the original Suikoden team went to Konami with this pitch, and they were turned down, so they went to Kickstarter... where it blew up massively to the point that Konami's like "OK. Well, we need a slice of that cake, so we'll just release a remaster. (of the IP we still hold, but isnt good enough to back for a new project.) " And that really makes me just hate everything corporate that much more.

Man, I was really looking forward to this one. I didn't back this one, so i'm not angrier.

Plus i'm going to delude myself into saying it sounds like they just want to rewrite the story to make it better, and i'm okay with that. There are too many mediocre stories in JRPG's, and too many that get passed off as better than they are. Where are the bangers at? (Besides Automata)

Yeah, outside of the great NL score, my dude at eurogamer gave it a perfect so I have to check this out. They align with my confirmation bias the most, so I trust them! Game looks like pure fun though. And I need that in my life!

@CharlieGirl Is it really an unfair consumer practice, though? There are tons of products that offer a deluxe version right alongside the standard version, not just video games. I'm really hungry so the only examples I can think of off the top of my head are food but you know what I mean.
DLC is like that upgraded deluxe burger. You don't need the pretzel bun, but it's worth paying extra for.
