@GoldenSunRM Yeah, because that point is irrelevant. You're saying those games can just be ignored so my point is moot because "they don't count"
And I'll reiterate, FF mainline used to drop yearly w/o fuss. It's just normal for them to take forever now, So it's an issue when other companies can actually stay on track with development?
@UltimateOtaku91 Google said it's at 105 last time I checked. I'm not reading the rest of your deflection.
My point is back in the day, Final fantasy games used to drop every year. And nobody complained, but now when some other smaller company does it, It's oversaturation.
The scales for Final Fantasy are always lopsided.
Like the excuses for final fantasy 15 being in development hell, but the impatience with silk song, which is like 3 people and an indie project.
@Princess_Lilly There are over a 100 different final fantasy games. that's oversaturation. Especially when most of them are throwaway titles they had to slap the brand on to make them palatable.
I have a weird take about this whole thing. And it's that the original Suikoden team went to Konami with this pitch, and they were turned down, so they went to Kickstarter... where it blew up massively to the point that Konami's like "OK. Well, we need a slice of that cake, so we'll just release a remaster. (of the IP we still hold, but isnt good enough to back for a new project.) " And that really makes me just hate everything corporate that much more.
I don't like LRG because everything they do has a scam element to it. After some research, i found they've been all about the scams since day one... or is it game zero? Now that they're an embracer company, I expect it to worsen.
Man, I was really looking forward to this one. I didn't back this one, so i'm not angrier.
Plus i'm going to delude myself into saying it sounds like they just want to rewrite the story to make it better, and i'm okay with that. There are too many mediocre stories in JRPG's, and too many that get passed off as better than they are. Where are the bangers at? (Besides Automata)
I like how they gave you an option to get the digital code on a different platform than the physical. Multiplat day one is cool. Even if I'll be waiting for the physical copy.
Yeah, it was a dark era where Nintendo power was gone so I didn't have a gaming publication. I've seen these under the glass at like Funcoland.
I wasn't about To pay that mark up so I guess the time is now. I usually play earthbound every summer, and haven't checked that box yet, So it's time to grab the NSO for a minute.
@-wc- Yeah the fandom turned me off to ever playing undertale as well.
Yeah, I didn't play games for a good portion there and came back at the pandemic. And it's kind of culture shock, seeing thirty year old games still on the top.
I thought the earthbound cult was just because of undertale. I've been playing this game since it came out in 94. I love it and revisit eagleland every summer.
I don't think that this documentary is for anyone other than the people involved.
Kind of getting nervous seeing Sakaguchi around the squeenix offices these days. Because I know they're not gonna give him free reign or a new IP. I fear it's CT remake related.
I don't think this art style gels with my idea of what double dragon looks like and it's enough to keep me from purchasing. Call it Death by Chibi - your game is too kawaii for me.
@Arawn93 I don't think this game is even related to the legend of heroes, the title is just that deceptive. Different companies though, NIS does Disgaea and Falcom does LOH.
Looks fun. I'm currently playing Trinity Trigger, and this seems similar combat wise. Must be a bigger budget title from NIS... there's English VA. Last few titles "spared that expense".
I'll keep eyes on it, but that's a loaded time of year. It's a wonder how loaded Q4 is.
Yeah, outside of the great NL score, my dude at eurogamer gave it a perfect so I have to check this out. They align with my confirmation bias the most, so I trust them! Game looks like pure fun though. And I need that in my life!
@CharlieGirl Is it really an unfair consumer practice, though? There are tons of products that offer a deluxe version right alongside the standard version, not just video games. I'm really hungry so the only examples I can think of off the top of my head are food but you know what I mean. DLC is like that upgraded deluxe burger. You don't need the pretzel bun, but it's worth paying extra for.

Re: It's "More Difficult Than Ever" To Collaborate With Nintendo, Claims Picross Developer Jupiter
@larryisaman Oh I didn't mean to imply they were asking for money to help with development, I meant actual sales money.

"It's getting harder to get nintendo to give us money for the same damn game over and over again."

Re: Front Mission 2: Remake Showcases Features In New Switch Trailer
@Cashews Yeah plus I don't really like giving square enix money. If I want one of their games bad enough I'll wait for a sale.
Re: Video: 14 Exciting New Games Coming To The Nintendo Switch In August 2023
@somnambulance Oh yeah brother I think I can dig it. Woooo!
Re: Video: 14 Exciting New Games Coming To The Nintendo Switch In August 2023
I'll be playing Sea of Stars but I don't think it'll live up to the hype or even exceed Chained Echoes. I just want a fun throwback rpg anyway.
And WrestleQuest (Aug 8) which is CRIMINALLY MISSING
Re: Front Mission 2: Remake Showcases Features In New Switch Trailer
Eh, I'm going with Armored Core VI. It's not a remake. 🙃
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Metroidvania Games
@thiswaynow Deedlit. It's easy and mostly linear. Get comfortable with the basics.
Re: New Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Reveals Geras As A Playable Fighter
@Lightsiyd indeed. Raiden is gone. It's why they reset the timeline.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Metroidvania Games
Also - bring Lone Fungus to Switch!!

Hi, this is slightly off topic, but does anyone know the status of these other throwback RPGs coming to switch?
Thanks, I want them all.

@Pupuplatter but PrEsErVaTiOn. Have to keep them away from digital to PrEsErVe FoReVeR pHySiCaL
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 29th)
Playing Trinity Trigger before Sea of Stars finally drops.

A metroidvania without combat? Keyblades not included?
Pass. Like Disney doesn't attack. Pff.
Re: Review: Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise Of The Dragons - Likeable, But Lacks Its Peers' Punch
@Guitario definitely yes

Re: Blasphemous 2 Is Looking Deliciously Gory In Latest Switch Trailer
I love blasphemous, but it's ALWAYS on sale. Sorry 😬 I'll wait. Usually throw in early for indies but... OCTOBER is coming.

I don't think this art style gels with my idea of what double dragon looks like and it's enough to keep me from purchasing. Call it Death by Chibi - your game is too kawaii for me.
Now I will go pet cats and listen to death metal.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy Color Library With Two Zelda Classics
.Cool. these 2 slipped through the cracks on me back in the day. Looking forward to this
Re: RIN: The Last Child Is Yet Another Promising Metroidvania Coming To Switch
My eye on this because it's basically sam from eastward the metroidvania
Re: UK Charts: Pikmin 4 Storms To The Top, Beating The Sims 4 And Zelda
@Jhena watch for sales. It's been slipping in and out of 25% off territory lately. Might even be on sale now.
Re: Poll: Final Fantasy IV - Do You Prefer The Original Or The DS Remake?
OG by miles. Those 3d remakes were terrible.
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Reveals Six Fighters In Official Kombat Pack DLC
@SpoonySpoons Except for maybe all that satire.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 22nd)
Ending stretch of the the absolute boring slog that is live a live and playing Trinity Trigger as well.
Probably start Octopath Traveler II when I finish that other one.
After waiting something like 30 years for live a live, I can see why it was a commercial failure in Japan. 😬
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Reveals Six Fighters In Official Kombat Pack DLC
Finally get to do Homelander vs. Omni-man. The MK team is genius.
Re: Get A Closer Look At 'The Legend Of Nayuta' Ahead Of September Launch
@Aiwen Oh my this is super confusing. Thanks.
Re: Miyamoto Considers Pikmin To Be Nintendo's "Most Global Characters"
This makes me wanna find some miniature pikmin and throw them in a geocache for someone to find. I gotcha back Miyamoto-san. The fantasy is real, now.

8 Eyes is my choice, regardless of Dev
PS - So I looked up the game after I made my comments And apparently someone acquired the rights in 2019 and it's on windows now?
Shocked

Re: Review: Pikmin 4 - Relaxed, Refined Real-Time Strategy, Ready To Crack The Mainstream
All the reviews of this are great. I haven't done any pikmin, but this looks really colorful and fun. I need something outside of dark metroidvanias.
Re: Brand-New Game Boy Color ARPG 'Far After' Is Now Up For Pre-Order
Pretty lofi font imaging for £140 per CE.
Re: A New Hellboy Game Has Been Announced For Nintendo Switch
@Smug43 no. You'll figure it out on your own. I believe in you.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Collections And Compilation Games
No offense, but these lists would have actual weight if it was an actual best of list, and not just like all of the ones you can think of.
Re: A New Hellboy Game Has Been Announced For Nintendo Switch
@Smug43 This is not the final fantasy sixteen thread my dude.
