@Trajan But it would lessen, I think, the rate of such atrocities. If people were more educated, they wouldn't so readily believe a fascist's racist ideologies. By having the knowledge, for instance, that this approach had been utilized in the past that led to disastrous consequences, people would be more equipped to recognize and fight against bigotry and discrimination.

But you are correct in pointing to the fact that corruption is a problem, if not the biggest. We need to get money out politics. Maybe then our representatives would actually represent us, the people, rather than those who line their pockets.

@Anti-Matter But the thing is, not everyone will like the same Pokémon as you. You may like the cute or pretty ones, but I prefer the ugly and weird-looking ones. And that’s okay.

But you know what’s great? That we are given the option to play with any and all Pokémon, however cute or ugly or strange, should we have PokeTransfer and/or PokeBank.

The point is, we have less options in the pool now. Less diversity. And that’s a negative from the consumer point of view.

Ever since that Treehouse, there hasn’t been one day when I didn’t think about, however brief, being unable to transfer any Pokémon I wanted into Sword and Shield, Pokemon’s first proper console game. As an OG Blue and Red player, that news was (and still is) extremely disappointing. My hype level went from an 11 to about a 2.

I hope that Game Freak not only notices but actually considers this massive backlash. I, too, hope they learn from it and make the necessary changes to make it right.

The fans, from casual to veteran players, got them to where they are. So, to me, GF’s decisions from here onwards are going to be telling of how much they respect the community that made them into a multi-billion-dollar brand.

@Dragonilm Actually, there is an ability that one of the GFs, Diablo, could learn that halves the encounter rate or eliminate it altogether.

As for the magic-stat situation, yes, if that magic is junctioned and you use it, that particular stat where the magic is junctioned decreases. You just draw that particular magic again from specific enemies. So I would say, from that standpoint, the stat change is not permanent.

Late game, though, assuming that one has a solid understanding of the junction system and one has done the necessary weapon upgrades, one must learn not to rely on using magic and summoning GFs to cripple or defeat enemies. (Although Doomtrain is excellent for causing status effects like Meltdown which turns enemy vitality to 0.) Limit breaks are preferred.

It sounds like you didn’t get accustomed to the finer mechanics of the game. Which is cool. Your points could be important to players about to play the game for the first time.

However, my point is that FFVIII is not as much of a mess as some people claim for it to be. In fact, an argument can be made that the game mechanic is actually well thought out.
