The Pokémon Company has announced that it'll lift the lid on its upcoming mobile game Pokémon Masters in a video presentation this Thursday.
The presentation is scheduled for 6am PT / 2pm BST / 10pm JST on 27th June and will be approximately 8 minutes long, so we should get plenty more information. Announced at the end of the pre-E3 Pokémon Direct, the game will apparently focus on facing off against famous Pokémon trainers from the history of the franchise, but there are few solid details at the moment beyond that.
As you can see below, the countdown timer is already live on YouTube:
What form do you think this mobile experience will take? Can any smartphone Pokémon game possibly compete with the popularity of Pokémon Go? Let us know your thoughts below.

I'll check it out but it won't beat mainline games for me
I didn't know this was going to be a thing
I'm vaguely interested, but I imagine this will be heavy on MTX. But considering I enjoy Pocket Camp without having to use MTX, it might be ok.
Please Nintendo Forsake the mobile way
This will probably have a bigger pokédex than the mainline games.
I'm going to assume it's a Granblue Fantasy lite until I see more on Thursday.
No, thank you. resumes with life
Just for the record, this was announced at the Pokemon press conference and not during the Direct.
As for the game itself, it's certainly not a bad concept, but the execution doesn't appeal to me that much.
Everyone is here!
@Kalmaro Nintendo games on mobile are just little teases anyway
Oh look, again people seem to think that Nintendo are somehow skimping on first party games because they also make mobile titles. These mobile games have an audience and if it isn’t you, don’t play it and just play the games that do appeal to you.
I guess I'll check out what it is via articles once it's shown off. I rarely ever play mobile games but I'll keep an eye on it. Pokemon's simplicity works well for quick-play smartphone games.
For the love of all that is good, STOP RELEASING MORE POKEMON MOBILE GAMES GAME FREAK!
Mobile games are always inferior to real video games on console and PC. Simple fact. But I don't begrudge Nintendo or anyone else for making them. Profit is profit. So long as they don't stop producing good games on consoles, I have no complaints.
@KazooieTooie Mario run wasn't too shabby. The other games I pretty much ignored though.
I’m not that interested. I usually don’t play quick bursts of small simple games on the go because I don’t need to fill every moment with something. I usually even don’t like just casually playing small. I also hate full touch controls and the fact that smartphone batterylife is not that great.
Focus on the console games please GF.
I'm probably never going to play this, but I'm still excited for it just because the game looks visually amazing and we'll get to see a lot of high-quality character models and animations, at least if the ones we saw in the first trailer are anything to go by.
