Downwell for just £1.34 is awfully tempting, even with planning to get a physical copy.
SteamWorld Quest, Just Shapes & Beats, Iconoclasts, Enter the Gungeon, GRIS and Katana ZERO are all games that I've rated 9/10. Really great sale. Snapped up Ape Out as that's one I've wanted since it came out but just hadn't gotten around to buying it yet.
But what about the DLCs? I already have Mario + Rabbids. I'd like to be able to purchase the DLC with a discount.
And I was considering the acquisition of Starlink Battle for Atlas, which is 25 retail, but why don't they put the DLCs on sale too?
Ape Out is tempting, but if I hold out it’ll probably go lower.
Yesss, finally can get Enter the Gungeon in discount <3
Why does the UK price of Starlink always get calculated incorrectly in these posts?
€24.79 / £37.18 ???
@RupeeClock I would totally pick it up, I love the game. I suck at it hardcore but I have a great time playing it. And for the price of a cup of coffee you can't complain.
@Chunkboi79 Yeah, even at full price it's ridiculously cheap. I haven't played much of it myself (maybe about an hour) but it seems pretty cool. Main reason I haven't played more of it is because I'm holding off till I get a Flip Grip to play in TATE mode.
@BenAV
I have a Flip Grip on pre-order from Limited Run Games among some other games that are due to ship, so I'm looking forward to that too.
I’ll get Broforce at that price. Will wait for a bigger discount on Steamworld Quest. Good sale though!
@Moroboshi876 Got Starlink a month ago for £18. It is crap.
Part of the game is locked behind a paywall. You can't access some areas if you don't buy extra weapons (you need a specific element). You can't unlock all the skills for a pilot without extra ships/weapons.
And overall, you have seen 99% of the game within the first hour, the rest is copy and pasted gameplay and enemies with different colours. Most of it feels like a chore doing the exact same thing over and over again.
I can't believe the season pass for Mario + Rabbids never had a discount. It is more expensive than the game itself...
@JoeDiddley
Maybe if you wait another year you can save a couple of bucks... but is it worth it ?
@BenAV Yeah I'm pretty sure I only paid $2-$3 for it at max full price. However, I have never seen the flip grip before thanks for informing me! That would make the experience miles better!
@RupeeClock @Chunkboi79 I'm pretty happy to finally have mine pre-ordered. Started looking for one a couple of months ago but they just haven't been available at all till now. Such a simple yet useful accessory.
Almost all the Ubisoft games can be gotten physically for the same price .
My backlog is about to get bigger. I noticed 2 games on the home screen Id forgot I even bought last night but I can't help myself
Dang, that’s a decent sale, envious of you guys right now, I’d happily take one of these offers since there’s a Cadence of Hyrule sized hole in my heart right now!
Those Starlink numbers make no sense. The Deluxe is cheaper than standard, yet discounted less?
Aw crap, I just spent £40 on the PS store buying Vita games yesterday - what are these people trying to do to me?
I wish they would knock the price off the Donkey Kong Adventure DLC for Mario+Rabbids, as I'm actually planning to buy that soon. Looks like it's just the base game they're discounting though.
@Onion I think they make more profits from the DLC the more people are buying the base game. Still, I would love a discounted season pass too..
Then, I would like to ask you guys for advice about Starlink: i found it physical for 20€, but I don't want to buy all those expensive DLCs bc the base game seems very limited. Is the digital standard version enough to complete the game or will some parts still be locked behind paywalls? It seems to me that this game has been a commercial and pricing mess from the beginning. It triggers a psychological system that makes you think: "I should have bought the other version because it was cheaper/better". I'm still interested though. Thank you very much.
@Ricube I bought the standard digital edition of Starlink last time it was on sale and completed it about a month ago. With the cheapest digital edition you get most of the ships, pilots and weapons, much more than the physical starter kit. I enjoyed the game. I get why many found it repetitive but I enjoyed the look and feel of it and got a good 35 hours of gameplay from it. I’ve no regrets about not getting the deluxe edition, especially when the difference can bag you a couple of really good games in the current sale.
@Dromosus thank you very much!
@Tibob I know what you mean. But my backlog is so big I’m trying not to be tempted. It’s hard!
And I’ve bought a lot of Devolver Digital games full price, they get discounted quickly, and regularly.
So on this occasion, I choose to try and stop myself.
Heads up to those of us in NA. The same DD sale is going on.
I've been waiting for Enter the Gungeon to get back to 50% off.
I'll buy it after work and gym.
@Moroboshi876 the dlcs might be on sale also and if not they will be. Ubi bounces back and forth with their sales.
@Dirty0814 They're not currently, which makes no sense. And I think the ones I mentioned have never been.
Time to pick up Katana Zero and Moonlighter
They had the starlink Expansion 1 on sale about a month ago for 24 bucks. I picked it up as I got the physical for Christmas. Before that they had starlink and the deluxe on sale so for the EU I would wait and keep checking it for a few weeks. They might put it on sale.
Woop woop, RAYMAN® LEGENDS: DEFINITIVE EDITION for only £11.09 , that is a steal and downloading on my Switch right now! I had it on the WiiU and it was thoroughly enjoyable with alot of content.
If anyone hasn't played it, I highly recommend giving it a go at that price!
Is anyone else having issue purchasing a game through the Nintendo website? The purchase button is gone on my side. It was working fine a week ago.
@Rhaoulos Nope, just got Pikuniku
@Bunkerneath OK thanks. It must be a problem with my account.
Got my hands on child of light. Digital devolver does not have anything in their library that interests me (maybe katana but I will wait for at least 50% off)
@Moroboshi876 @Rhaoulos the game is not that bad really even though I did almost everything in about 20h. The battles scale with time and get way more fun to the end. It is true that to 100% the game you have to buy at least some dlc but that is absolutely not required to have fun with it (I bought one dlc element because I wanted one extra weapon to mix up a bit of the combat). Also I bought it for 29£ and trade it on game.uk for 25£ a month later...
@Balta666 I'm getting more and more interested in the game, it's really cheap and you get the Arwing. But I was worried about the DLCs, really expensive if you want them all. Someone told me, though, that the only story DLC is the one with Star Fox characters, and if that's the case I'm happy, because I don't want DLC for weapons. I want to be able to play all the story, all the missions. That's all. So can you confirm the only thing I need is the paid Star Fox DLC? Thanks
Will get Ape Out, Downwell, and Katana Zero for sure, and most likely The Swords of Ditto as well, but I haven’t totally made up my mind about that one yet.
Didn’t realize how many Devolver games I have in my collection until I purchased Ape Out last night, and there’s still more I want. What’s up with the Gungeon update? I looked around the Breach and didn’t notice any new characters. Didn’t spend a lot of time with it though as I was waiting for Ape Out to download.
@JoeDiddley - Ive been waiting for a sale as well, and I’m not disappointed. It’s a very intense game, but the soundtrack is incredible. It starts with a beat, and then every action you take with the gorilla creates a bee bop trumpet squeal. You create improv jazz. I think you’ll really enjoy when you do get it.
Nice sale. I got Gato Roboto, Minit, and Katana Zero!
@Moroboshi876 yes, you can finish the whole story mission apart from the Starfox dlc without paying anything extra (note also that there are some included Starfox missions in the main game).
However I would recommend to buy one pack with a magnetic weapon for about 2$ to fully enjoy the game
@bimmy-lee great, I’m on a bit of a Charles Mingus kick at the moment, so veeeery tempted.
Katana Zero or Ape Out or Bro Force . . . what a great choice to have!
Now, did I miss the UbiSoft discount for Steep?!?
@JoeDiddley - The man was a genius. I got Eric Dolphy vibes playing it for the first time last night. There’s a faint needle on vinyl noise on loading screens. It’s not a game that will take over your life. I can’t imagine playing it for more than 15-20 minutes at a time, but I’ll play it many times for that duration. Anyways, it will (probably) always be there, so no rush.
Haven't bought any switch games in ages. Decided to take a look because of this article. I got.
The Walking Vegetables: Radical Edition
GunlordX
Downwell
GhoulBoy
Enter the Gungeon
The Long Reach
Hyper Sentinel
Ding Dong XL
Dream Alone
Planet Alpha
Broforce
Might be steering me into games I wouldn't normally buy good or bad we'll see. Might be some shovel ware there.
@bimmy-lee I’m listening to a Mingus live album with Eric Dolphy as I read this.
It’s definitely moving further up the wish list now!
@JoeDiddley - So good. I have the Cornell show from 1964. I think that’s the year Dolphy left the band. Fortunately for everyone involved, his break out was a much less violent affair than our large Silverback.
Picked up Ape Out, Not A Hero and Pikuniku this morning. Was tempted by Bro Force but think those are gonna keep me busy enough for now, and hopefully that'll go on sale again at some point.
Waiting for the Fractured But Whole Season Pass to go on sale again. It's been on sale in the past. I have the base game from a previous sale, but held off on getting the Gold Edition.
