@electrolite77 We pay a subscription fee which includes free classic games. These games are not free. They come behind another paywall. They could easily put the 2D versions up for subscribers who don't want to buy into this peripheral madness that's going on.
Wow. Another money grab by Nintendo! Here's some "free" games for subscribers, but only if you buy this expensive controller. Everyone hated these games when they came out, so you pay pay pay to try them out! Motion sickness comes free of charge!
Text too small. Can't read it on TV and on Switch 2. Won't buy it. Sorry. I wish developers would stop doing this. It might work on PC but not on consoles or handhelds.
Sooo, the Switch 2 is already having performance issues barely a month after launch. And on a first party game, at that... What's it going to be like by year 1, year 2, year 7? Looks like Switch 2 maybe be underpowered after all.
I gotta say, I really hate the new pro controller. I find it extremely uncomfortable for my hands. After just a few minutes my hands are cramping. The controller is slick and slides all around in my hands. The old pro controller was maybe the most comfortable one I've ever owned. Obviously from the review, it's very comfortable for other people. I'm pretty distraught that it's so bad for me. $$ down the drain...
@FredBiletnikoff Ah, sorry. Didn't realize you were in the UK. I used it a lot yesterday and didn't notice that big of a difference. And I actually find the old controller more comfortable for my hands. I'll probably like it more the more I use it. Headphone jack, turn console on, HD Rumble 2 should all make it worth it I guess.
I mainly play turn-based RPGs and strategy games, so I think my old pro controller is fine. Never had a problem with it. Maybe I'll treat myself to the new one down the road sometime, but not now. Already broke from buying the console and a couple of games.
I'm wondering about third party games. Will other publishers issue performance patches or not. I actually don't play hardly any first party games, preferring games like Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, Monster Hunter, indie games etc.
I found the game to be really fun despite the graphical problems. If the game runs smoother with the upgrade, I'll gladly pull it out and finish up the DLC.
Bravely Default is great ...until it's not. The last part of the game is absolutely awful and I doubt it's been changed in the new remaster. There is no way I would play it again.. Stick to Bravely Default 2...
@Patendo It's getting a free Switch 2 update, so hopefully a lot better. We can only hope. I really want to finish the 2nd DLC but I'm waiting to do it on the Switch 2...
I don't like large handhelds that much, but as an older gamer, my eyes aren't the greatest and I need a big screen. Nintendo-made games are usually fine, but others often have ridiculously small text. I really want the Switch 2 so I can hopefully read everything on the screen.
Hallelujah! My biggest complaint was not having Welltris. I've always loved that game. A way better variation than Hatris. Now, I wonder if they will add Faces...tris.
@nkarafo You can get the Eye Of The Beholder games and the other D&D games like the Gold Box Series on GOG and Steam. I'm pretty sure the Steam versions have some QoL stuff added to them.
@Kulhy Lands of Lore was an excellent game, definitely my favorite dungeon crawler back then, too. I also loved the Might & Magic games. I played a couple of the Wizardry games and they were just so hard!
This game is okay. I play it here and there. I don’t think it’s a 10/10 game at all. It’s definitely not on the level as games like Slay The Spire or Dicey Dungeons. It feels kinda generic. Maybe I’ll like it more after the update.
@TryToBeHopeful Piczle Cross Adventure is still my favorite picross game ever. Like you said, the game has personality and a story. I'll take the clunkiness over the sterile Jupiter games (I've played all of those, too.)
If you like Vampire Survivors, download VOID SCRAPPERS now! It’s like VS in outer space. Very addictive! Super cheap, too! It’s my favorite game right now.
Looks a lot like Void Scrappers. I’m sure it will cost way more than that game though. If you haven’t played Void Scrappers, give it a shot. It’s an excellent Vampire Survivor-like. I’ve been putting loads of hours into it. It’s only US$2.39 right now, too!
Only one I would not recommend is Kemono Friends Picross. Almost every puzzle is a face that looks pretty much like the other ones. It feels like you are doing the same puzzle over and over again.
Just Dance income stream for them has to be taking a real hit. 2023 has Just Dance+ subscription service which is far, far inferior to their previous Just Dance Unlimited. Ubisoft already has the game 50% in the eShop, killing profit margins, and now their subscription income stream should be greatly reduced as there is so little value to consumers with Just Dance+. Personally, once my trial is up, I'm not subscribing until a ton more songs are added. They really shot themselves in the foot by virtually killing one of their biggest cash cow series.
I’m not happy about going from Unlimited’s 800+ songs to Plus’ 150 to start. I know it is a brand new engine and the old songs need to be converted but it is still disappointing to see Plus start with so few. I can see myself playing 2022 for a long time to keep access to Unlimited as long as it is around. Playing Just Dance is my daily cardio workout and I like having variety to keep my interest up.
@Anti-Matter Have you even played one of the more recent versions of Just Dance? It’s real dancing with official choreographies from the artists etc. unlike the early versions. It isn’t just stepping on arrows.
Yes, they really push Unlimited subscriptions, but to be honest, the game is way, way more fun if you subscribe. You can pick up Just Dance games greatly reduced on eShop sales. Adding on Unlimited still makes the game affordable. I play Just Dance every day for my cardio workout and never get bored with it due to the hundreds of songs in Unlimited. As far as the quality of JD 2022 versus other JD games, this one is a huge step forward in choreography, production values on the maps, etc. A lot of the opinions I see online sound like the person only played one of the old games on Wii. Those games had extremely simple, repetitive choreo, basic graphics at best, etc. I'd like to see some of these people saying you just have to shake your controller around and that DDR is much better, load up some of the extreme k-pop maps on 2022 and give them a try.
I've played almost all the Picross games on Switch and 3DS. Jupiter definitely has the best interface, but my all-time favorite game is Piczle Adventure. It's a full fledge, old school RPG with picross puzzles! Very fun.
