@Mauzuri Some people love Sticks. To each their own.
But yeah, you can put me squarely in the camp that thinks she's an absolute abomination. Unbearably unfunny, and downright annoying whenever she opened her mouth to spout some "the government is evil and lol im so random" humour. Go figure the best episodes of Boom are the ones where she took a backseat of was absent altogether.
I'm generally avoiding news for this game because I'm really looking forward to it and don't need to be spoiled on anything else pre-release. Superstars may not be coming from Evening Star (the Mania team), but I've seen enough to know that it's going to be good.
It's a special treat for fans that Trip was designed by Ohshima. Even though he's the man behind the original designs of both Sonic and Eggman, he didn't design any of the other characters. The fact that Arzest it's even making this game had me worried because their entire history is made up of forgettable titles, mediocre sequels to old favourites and... sigh Balan frickin' Wonderworld. I never wanted Ohshima to front a Sonic game again because CD was always the weakest of the Classics (it was the only one he directed) and the rest of Arzest's history just ain't great. But I'm so happy to have been proven wrong with Superstars; A new and fully original Classic Sonic game that proves that modernises the original formula without sacrificing anything.
Anyway, back to Trip... The Sonic series needs a few more mainstay villains to occasionally take the load off Eggman. The are even fewer who exist in the Classic games than Modern ones. Bringing back Fang (with a clever way to explain his multiple names and long absence) would have been great on its own. Getting a brand new villain with a a very unique design, personality and a touch of mystery is icing on the cake. I can't wait to have the game in my hands to see what she looks like underneath that helmet. Right now I wouldn't be surprised to see her and up siding with the heroes, and I'd be okay with that. But I'm also hoping she remains a bad guy. She's a goofball and not obviously a female character. Until now, Amy was virtually the only girl in the Classic Sonic brand (the only others would be Heavy Magician and Heavy Knight from Mania, if you even count them). And whilst she's gotten a lot more positive representation recently, she's still very much the "Girl the Female". Trip looks like a great addition!
@Jayenkai We knew the bad games were bad from the outset. Apart from 06, which is something of a special case, the red flags were waving from day 1. Sonic 4, Shadow the Hedgehog, Black Knight, Forces, Frontiers if you happen not to like it... They were evidently not good. Superstars doesn't have the same kinds of problems at all.
Sonic Team probably isn't the main development studio on the game. Arzest are credited, and this game doesn't look like anything Sonic Team have put out. The artstyle and attention to detail are far more in line with Arzest's offerings than Sonic Team's. Not that Arzest has a glowing track record, but that's not the point. We're seeing something here that looks at least halfway decent. I don't think we need to be concerned for something else.
Unlike Mario games which take a different approach to level themes, Sonic games have always emphasised new locations (and story context therein). Between the original game in 1991 and Generations in 2011, the games very rarely reused levels apart from where it serves some sort of narrative purpose. Throwbacks were uncommon and very special when they occurred, meaning that moments like Adventure 2's Green Hill for 100% completion and Advance 3's remixed music in Sunset Hill really stand out in a good way.
Sonic 4 in 2010/12 was made up almost entirely of levels from Sonic 1 and 2 with new names and the most insignificant of differences. It was a stark lack of originality when the series had otherwise always been so creative. Generations was the first time we went back to old stages en masses and that was the very speak of the game. It was an exciting trip down memory lane. But then Forces, Mania and Frontiers all did the exact same thing, even reusing some of the stages that had already been reused. Lost World was technically original, but it was still largely things lifted straight from S1 and S2.
Superstars goes back to the creativity we know and love. Bridge Island may have checkerboard rocks, but it's got a totally unique colour scheme and seaside cliff aesthetic to Green Hill. The problem is that Sonic was born of creative environments and that was somehow forgotten around 2010.
@Jayenkai Nah, man. We could tell from the 3 seconds of footage in the reveal trailer that S4E1 was running on a modified version of the engine used in Rush and that the physics were complete tripe. The fans knew from the outset that it wasn't going to be good. And it only got worse as more and more of the game was shown off (/leaked in its entirety). Superstars doesn't look perfect, but it looks like a damn good effort. I don't think it can be likened to Sonic 4 in that sense.
Frontiers is alright. Deeply, deeply flawed however and it does highlight little Sonic Team has actually learned over the years. It's worse on Switch than on more powerful hardware, but that's sidestepping that Frontiers biggest problems are in game design, not just performance.
Superstars is actually being developed by Arzest, at least in part. Their name appears in the opening credits. I think it's likely that they are the lead on this game and Sonic Team are just taking on managerial/supervisor roles ala all of the games by Dimps. Arzest are the guys who made... Hey Pikmin, Yoshi's New Island and... Balan ***** Wonderworld. Naoto Oshima, the founder and head Arzest, is the guy who originally designed Sonic as a character. Superstars is something of a homecoming.
The game looks decent. Really good in fact. It's got some issues, but by and large or looks like an excellent new and original Classic Sonic game. I can't wait.
This was the only thing in the entire presentation that was remotely interesting. I like the idea of having a simplified, pre-built set designed purely for playing. But I don't exactly want an OTT premium package, which is sadly what this looks like.
I remember the specific first time I ever heard a of the PokéBall trick, and in that case it was holding down and B from the moment the ball closed in Yellow version. I was doubtful at the time because it didn't seem to help me in catching Moltres right then and there, but it was a case of Pascals Wager: if there's any chance it might be real, you've got everything to gain and nothing to lose by pretending. So despite knowing that it's completely baseless, it's become a habitual thing in every Pokémon game since. I don't even think about it. It just happens, and I have to make an active effort NOT to hold down and B.
@ketrac and @everyone else asking about "full voice acting": BotW has full voice acting, meaning that entire lines of dialogue are spoken instead of being merely text with grunts. It's kind of confusing, but think of it like this:
BotW has full voice acting, but is not a fully voiced game at all times.
I got a perfect 16, but the last question threw me. Was it ever confirmed that BotW took place after Spirit Tracks specifically? The last I heard, it was just nebulously at the end of the timeline as we currently know it, but it wasn't clear which of the known branches (if any) that referred to.
Does "Squirtle" sound like "squirrel"? Not in British dialects at least. We pronounce squirrel as "skwih-rul", which is lacking the "er" sound you get in the American pronunciation "skwerl".
@Serpenterror BotW is pushing 6 years old. It's not going to get any patches fixing the elaborate glitches at this point. The didn't even fix some of the most minor things, like whistle-sprinting and climb-cancelling that were discovered literally on day 1. Yes, some things were patched out, but I think it's fair to set that the time has passed.
I do enjoy reading about and watching footage of these big new game changing glitches when they come about. And even things that are more exploits than glitches, like bomb launching.
But does anyone else find that they just don't have any interest in trying these out themselves? Breath of the Wild is a fantastic experience just the way it's intended. The glitches undermine what the game has to offer, or at least change it to the point that it barely feels like BotW.
I'll leave it at this this: this isn't about of gay Pokémon fans, it's about the market that exists to actually buy this product. How many LGBTQ+ Pokémon fans you know isn't exactly relevant. I'm categorically not saying that "gay gamers in love is too niche an audience" for any products to exist at all. It's a bit unfair to turn my argument that into that. This is a niche product by its price point, by the operating region of the company that makes it and by its potential audience. That's all.
Not that you said otherwise, but just to be clear I want to say that there's no hate here. At least not from me (can't speak for anyone else). This situation strikes me as purely logistical, or one that's potentially not even on the radar of the manufacture for a number of reasons.
Re-reading my first comment, I can see it being interpreted as antagonist towards you @KateGray, particularly because I directly quote what you only put in as a throwaway line. It wasn't supposed to be antagonistic, but I'm going to apologise for the fact that it was. Sorry. My comments were supposed to be read as general, not directed. I do have more to say surrounding this entire topic, but let's just go back to the subject at hand. This has spiralled way too far from the point.
£11k is way too much to spend on an engagement ring, especially when it looks so tacky. I'll keep my theoretical £11k and buy something I'm not in constant fear of damaging or losing.
@Lizuka @CharlieGirl My guess is that the figurines and stone casing are pre-sculpted to be fixed on to the band of choice. And if that's not the case because the bands and figures are one solid piece made entirely to order... I'd like to know how the figures are made in the first place. Moulds, perhaps? Again, I'm 100% just guessing because I legitimately have no idea about jewellery manufacturing. I don't know how the moulds would be made, if they're reusable etc etc. I can't assume that it would be easy or viable to go to the effort of creating the options.
And on a different note, let's look at the situation here. These are niche products made for the Japanese market. They're aren't officially available internationally. Japan has no legal recognition of same-sex partnerships and has lower numbers of openly gay/bi/etc people than the Western world. This product is appealing to biggest possible demographic and I'd wager that its unlikely to sell more than double-digits in terms of units. Hell, I'd not surprised if it only sold a single-digit number of units.
There is virtually no viable market in Japan for a same-sex Pikachu diamond engagement ring costing ¥1,825,000. There's barely a market for a mixed-sex equivalent. It's there any reason for the company to bother creating a luxury item that potentially won't ever sell?
Ultimately, I just think that on so many different levels it does not matter that this product lacks any gendering options. It's not even it's worth remarking on. It will either come down to the fact that the same-sex market will always be smaller than the mixed-sex one and this is a niche product to the nth degree, or that we're looking at different cultures to our own.
"although you can't choose to have the Pikachus be the same gender, so that's a little limiting"
The overlap of people who are able and willing to spend £11,000 on a single engagement ring and people who would want a Pikachu themed engagement ring is already incredibly niche as is. This is the kind of product that exists only for people with more money than sense. If that's you, you could probably afford to get something unique made to your exact specifications.
I can't for the life of me expect a product like this to come with gendering options. You really think the manufacturer is going to go through the time and expense of creating and producing different models of this ring which is only going to sell a a small handful of units? The lack of gendering not a problem. Sometimes markets are just too small for products to exist.
@TheMisterManGuy Shadow has been an angry Sonic-hater for a while now and it's annoying. He's been seriously flanderised as a character. And that's exactly how he is in Prime too. However, it actually works in Prime because Sonic is an insufferable douche that never listens and caused all the problems. That justifies Shadow's bad attitude (in Prime at least).
@Mana_Knight Nah, it's nothing like DK64 in terms of things to collect. It IS definitely a collect-a-thon, but not an absurd one.
1) Memory tokens progress the story, and can be found still over the map in abundance. You barely have to look for them. They're everywhere. 2) Field bosses drop gears, which unlock cyberspace levels (heavily encouraged, but technically not mandatory). 3) Cyberspace levels reward you with keys. Keys unlock the Emeralds. 4) Collect all Emeralds to progress to the main boss. 5) All collectables are available in infinite quantities. You can also get them as rewards for minigames.
The loop of the game is explore maps > fight field bosses > beat cyberspace (traditional levels) > repeat until all Emeralds have been collected. Despite my criticisms of the game and the abundance of things to collect, I'll say this: Frontiers does a very good job of creating a rewarding, engaging and balanced gameplay loop. It doesn't have you running around on a treasure hunt. You're free to just experience the game in any order that you wish and it progresses naturally. Although me and others I spoke to found it got a bit long in the tooth towards the end, and we all resorted to using the minigame to get keys for the Emeralds.
@Baker1000 From what people like Iizuka (head of Sonic Team) and Kishimoto (director of every 3D Sonic game from Sonic Team since Secret Rings, except Unleashed and Generations) have said before, the games would be divided up as such: 1st generation = 1991 to 1997 (S1 to SK for main games), 2nd generation = 1998 to 2021 (Adventure to Forces for main games) and 3rd generation from Frontiers/2022 onwards.
Lots of fans would disagree with that, myself included. I'd say that the second generation was from Adventure to 06, and the 3rd generation started with Unleashed and continues to this day. I can see the argument for Frontiers being a new generation, but it really does not feel that way to me. But most importantly, I don't think that you can put the early 3D games in the same category as the boost ones. They're incredibly different.
The introduction to third generation of Sonic is... Bitesize boost gameplay sections in the middle of an empty field, and awful boost levels that mostly recycle visuals and layouts from various games between 2001 and 2011? And they added some combat which is just okay at best, but the game would definitely be better without it. Yeah... Not a great start.
I don't hate Frontiers, far from it. It's the best 3D Sonic game in years. And I actually enjoy it, warts and all. But seeing SEGA tout it as something revolutionary rubs me the wrong way because once you get past some of superficial aspects, it's so very, very similar to what came before. Did they really spend so long working on just re-arranging their formula for the boost games? Considering how flawed the foundation of Frontiers is (subjective) and how much it got wrong (also subjective), I'm filled with more trepidation and dread for the next game than I am hope. I think they're heading in the wrong direction.
So from the charts and the fact that they announced all that free DLC, it's probably safe to say that Frontiers has sold well. And it's certainly pleased some fans and critics. Fair play to everyone who is satisfied with Frontiers. However, it's definitely not a home run when the average Metascore is around 70% by platform, and the SD of scores is so high. It tells you that people are mixed on the game and that there's no consensus that it's particularly good or bad. It's a game that players can't come to one conclusion about.
@ThePizzaCheese Yeah, I came here to say the same thing. Personally I'm not interested in this movie, but for anyone who thought that Nintendo Life wouldn't publish spoilers in plain sight... Ouch.
@sixrings Normally, Nintendo Life is very respectful of putting spoilers in headline text. And that's the way it should be. They shouldn't be turning readers away by putting up spoilers that can't be avoided. The movie isn't it for several months yet. That's a long time for people to stop visiting your website!
I'm sorry, but what's this rubbish about skirts? The game doesn't include gendered character customisation, which is a good thing. The school uniform that you wear simply doesn't include skirts. I'm pretty certain that if skirts were an option then any players would be able to wear them. The game is totally gender neutral.
@Nikhogan This is like... It doesn't belong in the game. It's supplemental. In the game, you see how Sonic, Amy and Tails arrive in the Starfall Islands. Knuckles is there too, and this explains that. I'm sure the game will also fall you hope he got there, but not in the amount of detail you see here. It doesn't really belong in the game because its a little side story about a side character. It's a bonus.
I've read some comments in which people say that $4k is a lot of money. $4k itself as a lump sum is fair but of money, but that's literally all she would ever get for Bayonetta 3. No royalties for sales or re-releases in the future.
She goes on to explain that actually she won't be able to afford to run her car for very long, implying that she doesn't have much more work ahead of her. Presumably recording all of the dialogue for Bayonetta 3 would have taken weeks if not months.
When you look at it with all those considerations, $4k isn't much. And for the third original release in the series (plus re-releases of the previous games on PC, Wii U and Switch), it's an even bigger testament to how undervalued her performance is. Each Bayonetta game has been a success. She deserves better post for a character she helped make a success.
I don't know why, but I'm just really not feeling Bayonetta 3 at all. I loved both the original and the sequel and bought them at launch. But I never really wanted to go back to them after beating them. And now the third game just isn't making me feel much of anything. It looks really good, but I also just don't care.
Good lord, the human characters in Pokémon just get more and more overdesigned every generation. Nevermind the Pokémon themselves, its the humans that are suffering the worst from the changing artstyle.
She looks awful and its probably the most annoying character that I've come across in any game for years. Couldn't even stand to watch the full video.
@Maulbert What @MalkynRei78 said is correct. SEGA had an advertising deal with SOAP so that they could include the SOAP logo in-game, but the shoes were designed by SEGA. That's why SA2 re-releases get rid of the SOAP logo but Sonic keeps the shoes, and also why they appear variously in comics, Forces and elsewhere.
I'm surprised this is deemed worthy of a minor news article. The game makes this especially obvious during the Naydra sequence, as its the only one where the game makes you attack the dragon to access the shrine as part of a shrine quest. And yeah, as @rupert_the_giantbear said, it actually sends mixed messages. I don't remember how I learned that you could get shards of claws, fans and horns, but by forcing a scale on the first encounter the game is actually confusing things because it breaks its rules about consistency.
Most people will be aware that you can source materials from the dragons. The Naydra side quest forces it, the Dinraal quest in the DLC forces it too and should you miss both of those then the game also provides you with some dragon items in chests. Not to mention the fact that the game generally teaches you to use your bow to attack anything. The dragons even show up in the monsters section of the bestiary.
@Drew250 The UK gets it at 4pm. The difference is that the live broadcast at 3pm will only not be aired on Nintendo UK's channels. You can still watch other versions at 3pm however, and most people just watch the American broadcast anyway. So you're not missing out.
It's really, really dumb that the whole "national mourning" thing is being forced upon us here in the UK. And why it should have any effect whatsoever on this is beyond me. It's a stream, online and has nothing to do with the Queen. People can decide whether or not they want to mourn for her. An online stream is unmanned and totally at the discretion of the audience.
"Armarouge — as the series' second Fire/Psychic-type "
Either Victini or Delphox is being overlooked here, and tbh I can't blame the writer. The first one is very forgettable, ant the second one is something we all want to forget.
This trailer did very little for me. I don't have many comments to make. Klawf is cool, but I'm not really a fan of the two suits of armour. I like the concept of them, but not the execution. They're not bad designs though. None of the new Pokes jumping out to me as something I really want to use on my team. Maybe Cetitan. It's pretty unique.
The rest of the trailer was just more... I dunno. It was totally whatever? Looks like more of the stuff I hated from SuMo/SwSh and less of the stuff that I loved about PLA. The abundance of characters interfering with your journey irks me. Pokémon is at its best when you're left to your own devices most of the time.
This is an open world Pokemon, is it not? I don't mind regrouping with characters to further the plot or whatever, but PLA's biggest strength was that you were entirely off the leash between story events. Nobody ever really accompanied you anywhere. I get the distinct impression that SV will have a damn sight more interruptions. By virtue of being open world it almost certainly won't be anywhere near as railroaded and hand-holdy as recent generations. I'm just disappointed by how much its returning to the boring, tired after PLA completely reinvigorated Pokémon for me.
Also from a purely aesthetic point of view, more and more of the human characters in this game look overdesigned, have terrifying eyes and proportions, or both. Geeta looks like hellspawn.
The dock is nice, but I'm not really much of a, fan of the system itself or the controllers. I'm very happy with my Splatoon 3 one. But everyone is right when they say that the inevitable Zelda one will probably be the best.
Points for originality, because it certainly stands out well from all other primate Pokémon. And it's a normal type without a fighting type weakness thanks to its secondary poison typing. But the design is pretty unlikeable for me. Its got that modern Pokémon trend out having a giant head on a skinny, tiny body. It's not as bad as some (Galar starters, Chewtle, Pikipek and many more) but nah, I'm not a fan. I feel like the concept could have been handled much better.
@Dilly-Mick It's been a bug bare of mine for years. Pseudo legendaries are a pretty clearly defined group, their main defining characteristic being their 600BST when fully evolved. There's only ever one new pseudo-Legendary line introduced per region, except Hoenn which had both Metagross and Salamence. Haxorus is not a pseudo. Its just a random, common 3-stage dragon line.
On a slightly related note, I think it's really cool that Hisui even has its own pseudo. Sinnoh already had Garchomp, so for Hisui they created a regional form of Goodra instead.
I've been wanting to upgrade to the OLED since day 1, and I'm glad that I waited until now. It looks fantastic with those multicolor joy con and the ink splatter patterns. I just ordered the Splatoon 3 model along with the game and the special Pro Controller. I already have a regular Pro Controller and the Splatoon Pro Controller, so I don't really need it. But I would like it for my totally unnecessary collection.
@Sam_TSM I'm not sure if you're versed on the series or not (or if you even care!), so feel free just to ignore this if you're already aware of what I'm about to say.
Mobius was only a brief part of the series' history in the West. As far as the original vision for the series is concerned, it always took place on a fictional Earth, which had humans, like Eggman, and humanoid animals, like Sonic. Mobius was a concept in the American TV shows and comics. It wasn't a part of the games. I don't really care what the world is called, but I've never been a fan of the TV show and comic canons. From Sonic Adventure onwards, the games were quite clearly set on Earth (or at least not on Mobius). But even the older games blended both somewhat realistic settings such as Star Light and Oil Ocean with checkerboard-hills and giant pinball cities.
The first episode of Tails Tube neatly ties everything together in the way that SEGA always intended it, if you look what the creators said years ago. Characters like Sonic usually live on small islands, such as the settings of the Mega Drive games. These places typically have the more fantastical designs that the series is known for. Human characters inhabit the larger continents which reflect the real world a bit more. It isn't entirely cut and dry about what's realistic and what's not, but this just gives a bit of character to the world. Take Sonic Adventure 2 for example; you've got a major city that's basically just San Francisco, and it neighbours a region of pumpkin-shaped mountains and an Egyptian dessert filled with echidna statues.
I'm not sure if your comment was about humans, realism or just the name of the world but... the Sonic seriws always been had humans, some level of realism mixed with fantasy and Mobius was just an awkward product of flippant localisation. When people think otherwise, it's usually because they weren't ever aware what the series had to begin with.
North American voice overs absolutely dominate English-dubbed video games and anime. It's always the same small pool of voice actors giving the characters the same voice archetypes. It's homogeneous and it's boring. I don't actually care one iota for Xeboblade, but the voice work always gets a smile from me when I see the trailers. It's something different. The characters don't sound like every other video game/anime out there and that's a good thing.
If you find the Cockney accents hard to understand (and there's a whole bunch of accents in there, not just Cockney), then the problem of with you, and not the dub.
30fps for Colors Ultimate on Switch is not unexpected, really. Plus it was inferred by product descriptions a while ago that mentioned 60fps specifically on PlayStation and Xbox system. It'll be fine, but also preferable to play it on any other system where it'll be 60fps.
@ShadowofTwilight22 lol dude, you sound like somebody hurt you. I'm more of Sonic fan than a Nintendo fan, and Sonic's favoured Nintendo ever since SEGA went third party (which has now been the case for twice as long as Sonic spent as a first party series). Nintendo Life covers almost any Sonic news as long as it doesn't pertain to a game that's unavailable on Nintendo systems, because Sonic is quite relevant to Nintendo. Plus it seems like several of the Nintendo Life staff are simply Sonic fans to. There's been a sudden influx of Sonic stuff recently because of the 30th anniversary and everyone's happy to get in on those festivities.
@Inaroomalone You'd be right in that assumption. Check out the product page for this game on various shops; they're quite clear about the face that only the PS4/XB1 versions actually run at 60 fps! https://www.game.co.uk/en/sonic-colours-ultimate-2859379
Wow. I'm surprised that so many people seem to think this looks good? Colours isn't a bad game, but IMO it's hugely overrated. It got all of it's praise for being the first 3D Sonic game without any major design flaws (like fishing or fighting), sloppy gameplay (as in Shadow) or bugs out the whazoo (as in '06), but entirely by its own merits it's just not that great. For a supposedly 3D game, well over half of your time playing is spent in 2D. And what little 3D areas there are tend to be wide, empty corridors. Sonic's controls are also really stiff, the platforming is bland and the Colour Powers are pretty intrusive to the overall flow. Colours isn't bad, but it's far from being "the best 3D Sonic game". It's BARELY 3D.
That said, there's absolutely no faulting the graphics and music of Colours Wii. The game really, really shone in those departments. It looked absolutely fantastic for a 480p Wii game in 2010. And the soundtrack was just sublime. It seems like they've remastered or remixed some of the music for Ultimate and I'm not sure how I feel about that just yet...
On to Colours Ultimate specifically though... oof. No, this doesn't look good. The lighting is dreadful, especially Tropical Resort. The bright, vivid colours of the original Wii game have been washed out by bloom, and shadows are so dark now that they make things appear black. Sonic's animations haven't been improved at all, and in fact now look worse because his eyes don't move even though they did in the Wii version. Even his mouth is is painted on instead of being fully modelled. Certain shadows are even missing in Planet Wisp (such as on the polluted river under the grind rail) and the level of pop-in is embarrassing. I encourage you all to look up some comparison images of the game and see how the two versions stack up. Like this here, comparing Planet Wisp https://twitter.com/LotteYanson_/status/1404197968480198665
Why is it do dark? The Wii version should not look this much better, but it does! It's shameful.
Does it look awful? No, certainly not. I'm so obsessed with Sonic that I'm going to notice and critique things that others may not bat an eyelid at. But it looks like an upscaled Wii game with broken lighting. And considering just how gorgeous the original was, this is a huge disappointment.
Colours paved the way most Sonic games that came after it, with Forces superficially resembling Generations but practically playing a lot more like Colours. And Forces was trash. SEGA learned all the wrong lessons from the success of Colours. I don't want this game to bomb or anything. But I hope that reviews come out and say "Colours is alright, but not as good as we remember it being". Cause I really don't think it's all that hot. It's just alright and nothing more.
This is awesome guys. Thank you! I'm not reading any other comments just in case some people are sharing spoilers accidentally or otherwise. So could I just make a huge request and ask that you also keep any any news out the headlines and thumbnail/header pictures until release day?
Am example of what I mean is this: a trailer is released for Galarian Caterpie ;just making this up) and you should put up a headline that only reads "new Galarian form revealed" rather than revealing what it is. Anyone who's interested is going to click and look, but those of us doing one last little media blackout for this week and a half could remain unspoiled.
But again, thank you guys for doing your best to avoid sharing the details of the leaks! It's great to have somewhere safe.

Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Sonic Superstars Are In
@Jayenkai We knew the bad games were bad from the outset.
Re: Sonic Superstars Won't Recycle Locations Like Green Hill Zone
Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Sonic Superstars Are In
@Jayenkai Nah, man.
Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Sonic Superstars Are In
Frontiers is alright.
Re: The Original Pokémon Trading Card Series Is Returning As A "Premium" Set
This was the only thing in the entire presentation that was remotely interesting. I like the idea of having a simplified, pre-built set designed purely for playing. But I don't exactly want an OTT premium package, which is sadly what this looks like.
Re: Soapbox: Gaming Superstitions And Rituals Might Not Work, But They Matter
I remember the specific first time I ever heard a of the PokéBall trick, and in that case it was holding down and B from the moment the ball closed in Yellow version. I was doubtful at the time because it didn't seem to help me in catching Moltres right then and there, but it was a case of Pascals Wager: if there's any chance it might be real, you've got everything to gain and nothing to lose by pretending. So despite knowing that it's completely baseless, it's become a habitual thing in every Pokémon game since. I don't even think about it. It just happens, and I have to make an active effort NOT to hold down and B.
Re: Quiz: Are You Ready For Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom? Find Out With Our Fiendishly Hard BOTW Quiz
Re: Quiz: Are You Ready For Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom? Find Out With Our Fiendishly Hard BOTW Quiz
I got a perfect 16, but the last question threw me. Was it ever confirmed that BotW took place after Spirit Tracks specifically? The last I heard, it was just nebulously at the end of the timeline as we currently know it, but it wasn't clear which of the known branches (if any) that referred to.
Re: Quiz: Do You Know The Meaning Behind These Pokémon Names?
Does "Squirtle" sound like "squirrel"? Not in British dialects at least. We pronounce squirrel as "skwih-rul", which is lacking the "er" sound you get in the American pronunciation "skwerl".
Re: Random: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Glitch Gives Invincibility And Unlimited Stamina
Re: Random: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Glitch Gives Invincibility And Unlimited Stamina
Re: Random: You Should Definitely Propose To Your Partner With This Gigantic Pikachu Ring
Re: Random: You Should Definitely Propose To Your Partner With This Gigantic Pikachu Ring
Re: Random: You Should Definitely Propose To Your Partner With This Gigantic Pikachu Ring
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Sonic Prime
@TheMisterManGuy Shadow has been an angry Sonic-hater for a while now and it's annoying. He's been seriously flanderised as a character. And that's exactly how he is in Prime too. However, it actually works in Prime because Sonic is an insufferable douche that never listens and caused all the problems. That justifies Shadow's bad attitude (in Prime at least).
They fixed Shadow... By making Sonic worse.
Re: Random: Getty Images Apparently Exists In The World Of Final Fantasy VII
I wouldn't exactly call it "garish" when it's almost impossible to even see.
Re: Sonic Frontiers Director Excited About Next Game, Promises Even "Greater" Experience
@Mana_Knight The only thing that Frontiers counts for 100% is the map. It's easy going.
Re: Sonic Frontiers Director Excited About Next Game, Promises Even "Greater" Experience
Re: Sonic Frontiers Director Excited About Next Game, Promises Even "Greater" Experience
Re: Sonic Frontiers Director Excited About Next Game, Promises Even "Greater" Experience
Re: An Unannounced Super Mario Bros. Movie Character Has Been Spotted In The Wild
Re: Feature: 30 Changes We'd Like To See In The Next Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Update
Re: Feature: The 10 Best Ace Attorney Cases, Ranked
This article is spicy and the comments seem to agree. That's all that I'm going to say 😂
Re: Sonic Frontiers Prologue: Divergence Animation, Starring Knuckles, Is Out Now
@Nikhogan This is like...
Re: Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Asks Fans To "Boycott" Third Game After PlatinumGames Wage Fallout
Re: New Bayonetta 3 Trailer Reveals 2D Infiltration Gameplay
I don't know why, but I'm just really not feeling Bayonetta 3 at all. I loved both the original and the sequel and bought them at launch. But I never really wanted to go back to them after beating them. And now the third game just isn't making me feel much of anything. It looks really good, but I also just don't care.
Re: Meet Iono, The Electric-Type Gym Leader From Pokémon Scarlet And Violet
Good lord, the human characters in Pokémon just get more and more overdesigned every generation. Nevermind the Pokémon themselves, its the humans that are suffering the worst from the changing artstyle.
She looks awful and its probably the most annoying character that I've come across in any game for years. Couldn't even stand to watch the full video.
Re: Sonic Frontiers Offering Free Sonic Adventure 2 DLC To Newsletter Subscribers
Re: Random: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Dragon Mechanic Makes It Easier To Unlock Every Shrine
Re: Nintendo Direct Showcase Confirmed For Tomorrow
Re: Three New Pokémon Introduced In Latest Scarlet & Violet Trailer
@Octane The one fire/psychic type that's actually kind of cool. I feel shame for my transgression...
Re: Three New Pokémon Introduced In Latest Scarlet & Violet Trailer
"Armarouge — as the series' second Fire/Psychic-type "
Either Victini or Delphox is being overlooked here, and tbh I can't blame the writer. The first one is very forgettable, ant the second one is something we all want to forget.
Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Trailer Introduces Us To Rival Team, Victory Road, And More
This trailer did very little for me.
Re: Nintendo Reveals Colourful Pokémon Themed Switch OLED
The dock is nice, but I'm not really much of a, fan of the system itself or the controllers. I'm very happy with my Splatoon 3 one. But everyone is right when they say that the inevitable Zelda one will probably be the best.
Re: Here's Your First Look At Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's Grafaiai
Points for originality, because it certainly stands out well from all other primate Pokémon. And it's a normal type without a fighting type weakness thanks to its secondary poison typing. But the design is pretty unlikeable for me. Its got that modern Pokémon trend out having a giant head on a skinny, tiny body. It's not as bad as some (Galar starters, Chewtle, Pikipek and many more) but nah, I'm not a fan. I feel like the concept could have been handled much better.
Re: Feature: Which Region Has The Best Pokédex? Every Pokédex, Ranked From Best To Worst
Re: Feature: Which Region Has The Best Pokédex? Every Pokédex, Ranked From Best To Worst

Re: Deals: Nintendo Switch OLED Consoles Are £25 Off In The UK Right Now
I've been wanting to upgrade to the OLED since day 1, and I'm glad that I waited until now.
Re: Random: Here's Why Nintendo Doesn’t Want You Using The Word "Nintendo" To Describe Video Games
I had no idea that Larry ever wrote for this site! I just watched this video on YT no less than five minutes ago. Big thumbs up!
Re: Random: Sonic Fans Are Going Crazy About A Mystery Character With Pink Hair
Re: Poll: Do You Have An Issue With Xenoblade Chronicles' Accents?
North American voice overs absolutely dominate English-dubbed video games and anime. It's always the same small pool of voice actors giving the characters the same voice archetypes. It's homogeneous and it's boring. I don't actually care one iota for Xeboblade, but the voice work always gets a smile from me when I see the trailers. It's something different. The characters don't sound like every other video game/anime out there and that's a good thing.
If you find the Cockney accents hard to understand (and there's a whole bunch of accents in there, not just Cockney), then the problem of with you, and not the dub.
Re: Sonic Colors: Ultimate Switch Trailer Removes 60fps Perk Of Original Video
@Fantasia It was 30fps on Wii.
30fps for Colors Ultimate on Switch is not unexpected, really. Plus it was inferred by product descriptions a while ago that mentioned 60fps specifically on PlayStation and Xbox system. It'll be fine, but also preferable to play it on any other system where it'll be 60fps.
Re: Celebrate Sonic's 30th With This New Line Of Official Merch
@ShadowofTwilight22 All good 😄
Re: Celebrate Sonic's 30th With This New Line Of Official Merch
Re: Celebrate Sonic's 30th With This New Line Of Official Merch
Nintendo Life's looking a lot more like Sonic Life right now.
Re: Video: This New Sonic Colors Ultimate Footage Looks Rather Good
@Inaroomalone You'd be right in that assumption. Check out the product page for this game on various shops; they're quite clear about the face that only the PS4/XB1 versions actually run at 60 fps! https://www.game.co.uk/en/sonic-colours-ultimate-2859379

Re: Video: This New Sonic Colors Ultimate Footage Looks Rather Good

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Are Leaking Like A Sieve, Be Safe Out There
This is awesome guys.
