@ChameleonBros I could overlook the issues but they're all so stupid. It would take nothing to allow custom items or even just provide more options for the items. It would take nothing to add in a collectable list to make it more organized to find stuff. It would take nothing to add an option to have costumes under a submenu after you choose a character. It would take nothing to add a place to listen to the music tracks. It would take nothing to add in lap times to time trials.

We've had all these options before, I can't imagine any of it takes much coding at all. It's probably a weird situation where nintendo thinks "they have to play how we want them to play" and it makes the game feel so much smaller than it should

Not to sound overdramatic but I have fallen off of this game so hard. Not letting us choose no items or custom items, no 200cc, not letting us see lap times in time trials, the worst unlockables ive seen in a long time, stupid online track selection where we are limited to 3 intermission tracks, no music player, no easy way to see where missed collectables are located, a clunky character select and track select screen, an empty feeling battle mode compared to past entries...

It just sucks cause there is so much good about this game. I love being able to drive everywhere, I love the way it feels to race, I love the item system and the track selection we do have, there is just so much bogging it down for me that it makes me not want to play it.

Hope It gets updated to make it more fun but for now I'm probably done with it for now

I normally wouldn’t think this and I disagree when I see most people saying this about other games but… wow this game is really $50?! Unless they add something new such as a level editor or online multiplayer I really don’t see it being worth that price. $30 seems about right to me (maybe even 40) but $50 for a gba remake that (for all we know currently) has only added a local co-op mode seems a bit much. The game still looks really fun and I am considering picking it up but I may have to wait for a sale

I also just realized this means we will most likely never get this game on NSO which sucks since I love the pixel gba art style too

@QueenKittenWrite I didn’t grow up with the game. I only first played it two years ago and this review is spot on. I don’t know how you think this game has aged poorly as a bunch of the mechanics are things that some RPG series have only just started adding. Easiest 10/10 ever whether you grew up with the game, or only just found out about it a couple years ago like I did
