Developer Crows Crows Crows has announced that its acclaimed off-kilter first-person hit The Stanley Parable is coming to Switch on 27th April in the form of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe.
Described as an "expanded re-imagining" of the fourth-wall-breaking original game, it's getting a (re)release across all console platforms, plus Steam. A tweet put out by Nintendo of America promises "new content, new choices, and new secrets". Check out the trailer above.
Here are some more details about the celebrated indie game from the PR blurb:
You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will make a choice, and you will have your choices taken from you. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. You are not here to win. The Stanley Parable is a game that plays you.
Let us know below if you played the original and if you'll be picking up this new expanded version at the end of April. Well done, Stanley.

I can't wait to get the press a button for 6 hours straight ending
Again
I will, don't test me
Same narrator as Void Bastards - I knew that voice was familiar.
@PBandSmelly
You, my firend are a true artist.
YES IVE BEEN WAITING FOR 4 YEARS AND ITS FINALLY HAPPENING!!! THIS IS GONNA BE MY GOTY
I played the Steam demo years ago and it was entertaining. I will most likely buy this on Switch assuming it's a reasonable price for a one time experience sort of game.
But when is Portal coming!?
This looks brilliant! No idea what is happening...but I like it!
Oh my days! I’m so buying this game! Had the original so I was super stoked when first heard about this!
It's a masterpiece, one of the early walking simulators — along with Dear Esther, another Half-Life 2 mod — and still one of the best. Curious about this new version of it. This'll be my third go-around. (First the mod, then the commercial release, and now this.)
One of the few PC games I have ever purchased. Stoked to hear about this and will definitely buy it.
When I played it I thought every ending would tell a piece of a much larger story, was dissapointed that everything that happend was just random stuff with no meaning whatsoever.
OH, WILL U GET THE BROOM CLOSET ENDING? THEB ROOM CLOSET ENDING WAS MY FAVRITE!1 XD
Can't wait to make my girlfriend play this
I say this with so many multiplats coming to Switch, but please run great on Switch and get a physical release. Loved the original.
I will be grabbing this Day 1. The Stanley Parable is a true genius of a game in storytelling. And now with added content??? Day 1 for Switch indeed. I've wanted this on Switch for ages!
Still never played this, though there's a fair chance I've bought it on Steam at some point. Will very likely get it on Switch as been expecting/hoping it would come. Pricing will determine whether I go early or hold off for a potential physical.
Nintendo, about that last line... is it the time for an '80s Soviet Russia joke?
Maybe.
I'm sure this is a ploy to break my progress on the don't play for five years achievement
I wonder how they will handle the five years thing?
@Luminous117 @NOOBiSH is right though, the Broom closet ending is the BEST part of the game.
YES! y’all had enough time to get the “Don’t play for 5 years” achievement
...I got this on Steam and never played much of it, think I stopped after one ending. I'll actually keep an eye on this, I'd rather play my games on console than PC. >.<
Ah, I’m excited to see this! It will mess with your mind if you aren’t prepared for what lies in store…
Oh, and never stop at just one ending. That’s like stopping at the tutorial level.
I wonder how the endings that require hacking will work?
@valharian I think the larger story was you driving the narrator insane as you destroyed his “masterpiece”
I've been wanting a port of this for so so so long now. I can't believe it's finally coming! That's what she said
I don't normally play these sort of indie games that are more about the experience than the actual gameplay. Not sure if you'd classify this as a "walking sim" or whatever. But, I played it with an old buddy of mine a few years back who got it on Steam, and it was definitely a unique experience. I thought it was pretty interesting. I'll probably pick this game up if it isn't too expensive, as I think it's one of those games worth pulling out to show to company, even if there isn't a lot of replay value for myself.
