Have to say I rather enjoyed RE: Revelations on 3DS. Especially with the Circle Pad Pro. I know it was an ugly add on but it actually felt great to use. One of the few 3DS games for me that rivalled home console games at the time. And actually it was a decent Resi experience. I'm mildy excited at the prospect of trying the second entry in the series on Switch. It might be a port, but the machine does need more diversity in its catalogue. Good news.

@AirElephant It is a shame - the hardware actually has great potential which I'm starting to feel will never be properly explored. This could be another generation of Nintendo home hardware for which support withers all to quickly.

The Switch simply needs better 3rd party support to look like a convincing alternative to the other home consoles for the mainstream market. More properly epic experiences are needed.

Ports of all their PS4 and Xbone games going forwards please...

I'm unsurprised but sorry about this. I particularly enjoyed Miiverse in the early days of the WiiU - it felt like a friendly community of Nintendo enthusiasts who were nice to interact with.
I'll be first to admit I have not used it much over recent years (no time!), so I understand why it is being shut down.

@MrGawain I feel the same - the switch just seems a bit delicate for regular travel use. But then I only just got a proper case for it now, so perhaps my view will change.

@Moshugan I'm in the same place as you. These are old games I have on other devices, but somehow this mashup is tempting. Just not quite at that price.

@DavidH I think maybe the Puyo Puyo Tetris discount might start tomorrow, running Friday to Friday?

Am I correct in thinking Super Bomberman R is still discounted at around £30 on the Switch store? Does anybody think this is worth the money (I have a couple of the TG16 titles on VC)? Or do I save the cash for Splatoon 2 later this month? :/

A Switch project seems less likely due to the lack of dual screens, but I suppose implementing connectivity with a 3DS (or even a smart device) would not be impossible.
I have the original and found it quite fun. Should probably dig it out to try with the kids...

@wiggleronacid I agree about MH on 3DS. MH4U on 3DS seems a great (better balanced) game, but I preferred playing Tri on the Wii. If I had enough time in my life I could be tempted to try MH3U on Wii U... Always like the idea of moving the save game back and forth between it and the 3DS version. Probably should wait for the Switch MH really...

It is a bit of a shame that Nintendo has not (so far) allowed the use of a WiiU pro controller on the Switch - I'm sure a lot of the early adopters will have one. I'm sure it would not take a lot of effort, but I guess it would cut into the sales of the Switch Pro controller.

Surely a third party company could come up with a far cheaper alternative dock, perhaps sold without charger and HDMI cable?

As he is an afficionado of such retro games I would trust @Damo fully in his assessment. Gonna be hard to resist a buy here.

I'm a loooooong ago lapsed PC gamer. Something like this could get me back on board to a limited extent. But will it be published on the eShop? I'm not sure.

Great game I enjoyed on Wii VC. And then again as part of the Wii Metal Slug Anthology. I won't triple dip on switch, but this would be great fun for impromptu table-top co-op when out and about!

There was an interesting flurry of new games mentioned (esp for 3DS), but I must say for me there was little that I am interested in, particularly having owned a Wii U.
I feel like a cliche saying this, but wider third party support for Switch is needed. And yes, a generous announcement regarding the Virtual Console would personally very welcome: if I could play (or upgrade for a small fee) all my previous purchases I would be there in an instant.

Ouch. This is not going persuade many people they need the new console.

Booted up my Wii eShop copy last week to remind myself. It is rather tough, but then I have never been great at fighting games like this.

@Jeronan I enjoyed this game on Wii U, but I agree that the Switch needs more big games announced, and quickly in order to look credible. "Triple A" third party support for the Wii U might have dried up pretty quickly after launch, but at least it was there in the first instance!

Great news for those with an interest in the game, especially if it gets translated and "Western" release. But this hardly seems like the kind of gaming title which will capture the imagination of the mainstream and shift the Switch. Just exactly where are they? And when are they inbound?

@Kayfios Must admit I don't like much getting the list on the day of download. Planning purchases was rather easier when you could see what software was upcoming, especially with respect to time limited sales. And it made Mondays more interesting!

Not really a compelling case for upgrade to Switch just yet.

That might be nice - the disc copy seems to fetch a high price currently. Perhaps getting one of the other HD re-issues on another console might be a better way to experience the game however. Though portability would not be something to be sniffed at. I really enjoyed MGS3 on 3DS.

I haven't jumped on the Switch train yet. It's expensive and I just don't think there is a compelling enough reason for a WiiU owner to need one just yet. In particular the launch line up is concerningly weak. The lack of 3rd party support that even WiiU boasted early on is a bad sign, though if it sells in volume hopefully that situation will be remedied. I'd hate to go through the droughts of software choice the WiiU had again. All that said, I'm very interested in the console form factor. It's killing me a bit, but I am holding off getting BOTW on WiiU as I'd rather play it on Switch due the portability.

@jswhitfield8 I wonder if these will be actual Virtual Console titles with all the usual VC trimmings? Or are they something different?

Mixed feelings about this - glad there is a possibility of touch gaming, but I feared the machine might be heading for this kind of inconsistent approach.
