I have to say I'd quite like one of these...

So... I have been trying Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty on my new Vita... it's only my second MGS title after Snake Eater on 3DS. Whilst I enjoyed that, I really find these stealth games do not come naturally. I'm all over the place with this one, getting shot to pieces! I'm actually missing the controls of the Circle Pad Pro - it looked awful but it was really comfortable and felt like a home console experience.

@nessisonett I have a similar play history of the series to you. I love the metroidvanias, and I'm less struck on classic Castlevanias. I have just got a PS VITA almost specifically to play the PSP Dracula X Chronicles, and then just specifically to play Symphony of The Night, which is unlockable within it.
Trouble is the remake of Rondo of Blood is still reasonably tricky and I haven't quite managed to unlock it yet...

If it makes it westwards even as a cloud based experience I would still be very keen to play it assuming it holds up. Not my preference, but the possibility of streaming games to Switch that don't get a dedicated port may well make financial sense for everybody in the future.

I can totally see why this is being tried. And Switch could be a great terminal for streamed games. This may even be the future of gaming whether we like it or not.

Not much grabbing my attention on the eShop of late. I think having owned a WiiU is one factor as I already have most of the 1st party "ports" there already.

The lack of exporting and MIDI support is very disappointing. Waiting for a sale if I buy at all.

If the online subscription heads for a Netflix style model it might mean that folks don't miss the VC. Personally I loved the shop window it gave obscure gems on systems I missed. I guess that may be a thing of the past now...

Ouch. Sorry to hear this, but honestly not surprised. I thought this might be the way things were heading. My poor old WiiU suddenly seems a lot more valuable now.

@Krull Good point about the development cycles. I also agree that some differentiation between consoles is welcome. I guess I should have learned from the Wii and WiiU eras that being chiefly a Nintendo gamer will exclude me from a lot of the AAA content other gamers enjoy.

@AcridSkull There are plenty titles not making it to Switch from major publishers. Far Cry 5, Burnout Paradise Remastered, A Way Out, Yakuza 6, Assassins Creed, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Monster Hunter World, Surviving Mars.....
I'd like to see these publishers invest in bringing them to Nintendo hardware. Bethesda have proven it is possible to bring recent releases to the platform.

14 months into it's life the lack of big budget third party titles for Switch remains a disappointment and a concern. I hope E3 will remedy this...

Would have been nice if it had been taken down for an update to retroactively fit the Funky mode to the WiiU version... I might stand a chance of trying it again.

I found this a bit too hard to be fun on WiiU. Glad there's a easier way to experience it now, but I won't double dip.

@YANDMAN Thanks! I did actually download the Steam demo a couple of years back when I realised it was on PC (cheaply in HD), but I don't really game on PC (I've never invested in a decent controller - silly, I know). I was talking about not finding the GC copy at a decent price. 😁

I'm sorry to hear there may not be Shenmue on Switch. Not necessarily surprised, but this is tge sort of project I'd hoped the console would be attracting by this stage.
Oddly I only heard of Shenmue about 3 years ago when it was exhibited as part of the Games Masters show at the National Museum of Scotland. After a brief play of it I was intrigued. Let's hope these remasters make the jump to Nintendo hardware at some stage.

The hype about this game has never died since its release. I never managed to find a reasonably priced copy. I'd like to give it a spin on Switch.

@SwitchVogel I'm starting to think that "AAA" major third party support may not materialise in a significant way for the Switch. Unless there are announcements in the next few months...

Great. I think it is actually a good call to reduce the features so the headline price can be lower. Makes it much more likely I would invest in this.

It is great the system exceeded expectations. I do find it surprising however that 1 year in there is no Virtual Console, and that it may not be appearing until September... 🤔

Metroid: Samus Returns reignited by obtaining a (squishy) amiibo. Breath of the Wild (I know I should have finished by now). Oh znd a bit of the lovely, relaxing Golf Story.
And really I should be working instead. 😶

@0muros Yes, Goldeneye is surprisingly fun to play still, even on the solo campaign. I keep getting lost in the statue park level. 🙃

Been thinking about Magical Drop II since it got reviewed for the Wii VC... Never tried that series.

A couple of hours later... Spectre of Torment is just that - pure torment. But I never want to give up completely, especially after making some progress on a level.
