Re: Nintendo's Share Price Falls Yet Again With A Lack Of Game Announcements Possibly To Blame

BigKing

Investors aren't emotional cry baby fanboys like most people here who parade each turd indie game like it's a triple A title.

@Knuckles-Fajita Prime, Bayonetta and Yoshi never sold a lot. Fire Emblem sells reasonably. Pokemon, Mario Kart, Mario, Smash Bros, Wii Fit, Wii Sports and Animal Crossing are triple A titles when it comes to sales. Those sell tens of millions, not a few hundred thousand or a few million.

@rjejr if you're B+/A- in Splatoon 1 you'll probably be at least S rank in Splatoon 2. It's way easier to rank up and way more difficult to drop in rank. They also rank you separately for each of the Ranked modes, so if you suck in one it doesn't affect the other rankings.

Re: Review: Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion (Switch eShop)

BigKing

Bought it and it's surprisingly good, though this should've been the regular campaign, because that one was horrible.

9/10 is too much though, especially for the €20 price tag. But it's a solid 8.

What's with all the copy paste reviews around the web? All of hem mention Zelda/Mario and act like it's really hard. It's not that hard.

Re: Shots Are Fired In This New Minecraft Cross-Play Trailer

BigKing

I would ban cross play too if I were Sony. Half of my Splatoon 2 matches has one player getting disconnected. I guess most Switch players connect their console to he web with a 14k4 modem or a Nokia 3310. For some reason, Nintendo players online always have terrible connections (same for Smash Bros on Wii U and 3DS)

Re: Unravel Two Switch Port Would Have Delayed Its Reveal By "Half A Year Or So"

BigKing

@PanurgeJr You still don't understand it. The whole point is that EA does nothing besides publishing when it comes to indie games, nothing more nothing less. The whole idea is that those indie studios work fully independent. EA does publishing and probably some promotion. I don't see any developer from that studio blaming EA for anything. They are free to do whatever they want. If they want to make a PS4 version, that's on them. If EA had more input, then it wouldn't have been an indie studio anymore. That's what everybody is trying to avoid. If a publisher invests more money, they demand more control. That is what everybody is trying to avoid. The publisher does not make bad decisions, they don't make any decision at all.

The studio obviously didn't even start working on the Switch version to begin with. But did they know there was demand, which is exaggerated any way, because I never heard gamers begging for Unravel 1 to be on the Switch. That was just an ok game. It wasnt that great.

But now all of a suddenly everybody is upset. And gamers are just bashing stuff for no reason. EA does a lot of things wrong, but not in this case.

I still don't see why they would delay an announcement until they ported both games to the switch. Sounds like a terrible business move. They don't even know if they will get it up and running on the Switch to begin with.

Re: Unravel Two Switch Port Would Have Delayed Its Reveal By "Half A Year Or So"

BigKing

@PanurgeJr It's built on a custom engine by two people, so if you put new developers on the job it takes months before they know the ins and outs of the engine. You won't speed up the process by throwing more money at it. Plus that money needs to be recouped. You think publishers are just going to throw money at stuff that won't earn them anything? That's not how they became a big publisher to begin with, that is how big publishers in the past went bankrupt.
Delaying the PS4/Xbox versions just for the sake of it does not make any sense businesswise. Unravel 1 was never on a Nintendo console to begin with.

Re: Unravel Two Switch Port Would Have Delayed Its Reveal By "Half A Year Or So"

BigKing

@PanurgeJr lol, you know absolutely nothing about software development. Just because you have more resources does not mean it will be done faster. If you have a custom engine, putting more devs on the job would delay it even more.

Gamers are quite dumb compared to developed, my God. And judging by the comments they think they outsmart them. Sad to see.

Re: Review: Chameleon Run Deluxe Edition (Switch eShop)

BigKing

@kobashi100 It's still annoying that the store is filled with crap and you have to search very hard to find the few hidden gems between all the shovelware and mobile ports. You're totally missing the point. Of course I don't buy them, but saying that is like me pooping in front of your house and saying: you don't have to step into the poop.

Re: Splatoon 2 Hackers Are Forcing Unreleased Content Onto Other Players

BigKing

@RadioHedgeFund Dreamcast is homebrew heaven, even Sega put some secrets in for he Homebrew community(Megadrive emulator, Puyo Puyo homescreen). Games are still being released. Xbox had Xbox Media Center other platforms had tons of unofficial translation and undubbing/uncensoring patches and so on.

And you're still missing the point: you think hackers are learning their skills from playing pirates games all day? Hell no, they hack all they. It are the other people who profit off it and play the pirates games. They usually just do it for the sports.

Re: Review: Chameleon Run Deluxe Edition (Switch eShop)

BigKing

@Dogorilla these type of games work on mobile because smartphones don't have any buttons, porting them back to consoles is a really dumb idea. Should never be a 7 because it doesn't feel like a console game.

@kobashi because they never feel right. They always feel like mobile games with short levels, dumbed down mechanics and terrible AI that is way too forgiving. And a lot of times you have too read into reviews before you find out it's a mobile port.

Re: Unravel Two Creative Director Explains Why The Game Isn't On Switch

BigKing

This is why I hate videogame journalism and communities. Everybody just copy pastes opinions these days without even thinking for themselves.

I'm pretty sure most of the gamers who complain about this not being on the switch didn't even play the first one, which was never released on a Nintendo console in the first place. Besides that, why does everybody all of a suddenly acts like it was a masterpiece and a must have on he Switch? It was a decent platformer with a fun gimmick, nothing more. Nobody cared about Unravel until this fabricated controversy.
