We've had our strongest indication yet that unique time-bending shooter Superhot could be coming to Switch.
Speaking to Destructoid at Poland's Digital Dragons convention, director Piotr Iwanicki revealed that a Switch port is actively being considered:
There are plans. It should be there.
There's a conflict with me because I'm the guy who will just say everything up front but the plans are there and we've done some preliminary work on it. It still has no date or anything. But I think it should happen. The Switch is a cool platform and it's an innovative platform. [Nintendo] rediscovered something that was already there. Nintendo is good with their stuff. Superhot would fit there well.
Superhot began life on the PC before finding fame as a VR title. It works well in VR, but is just as playable on a traditional screen - and would be an excellent addition to the Switch's growing library of indie hits. The hook here is that time only moves when you do, giving you the chance to assess incoming threats and deal with them accordingly before moving on and triggering the passage of time once more.

SUPER HOT SUPER HOT SUPER HOT SUPER HOT SUPER HOT SUPER HOT SUPER HOT SUPER HOT SUPER HOT SUPER HOT
More games the better, but this is so much better in VR.
@SmaggTheSmug
Chill
I could play this like I played Thumper: hold the Switch right up to my face and pretend it's VR.
So they’re super hot you say?
The game is great standard but mind blowing in VR. That said, it should be noted these are almost two different experiences.
@mauhlin12
I love the idea of this! Actually... with the joy cons being detachable, you could try just taping the Switch to your face! 😆
Wanted to play this for ages, sign me up!
The non-VR version is really well suited for a quick lunchtime session in handheld. Great fit for Switch.
Yes please!
For fans of a thinking man's first person shooter, this is an absolute must-buy. I hope that it comes to the Switch, but if it doesn't, you should get it on any other console that you have.
It's a wonderfully weird and mesmerizing experience.
IT'S THE MOST INNOVATIVE SHOOTER I'VE PLAYED IN YEARS
My one complaint with this game is that it's a little short for the $25 price tag (about 5 hours to beat the main game) but there is a lot of replay value with the challenges and the endless modes, I could see some playing it for way more.
@617Sqn couldn't agree more. It was the first VR game I had ever experienced and it blew me out of the water. Makes you feel like John Wick!!!
SUPER STOKED
The VR version is amazing.
Then do it?!
Funny thing is I just played this game yesterday. It is a neat concept but it is truly a game that only really stands out in VR. Playing this game without VR just feels stiff. My problem with it is how the game seems to revolve around learning the enemy spawn pattern, sort of a trial and error type of thing. It feels a lot better in VR though because you have a lot more control when you play it that way.
This game has been high on my list of games that need to be ported to Switch for a long time.
This would be a guarenteed purchase
I would definitely check it out!
Now that Labo VR is a thing and some third party developers are considering supporting it, it would be a good time to port Superhot to the Switch.
