@Rika_Yoshitake I just googled a couple Sony movies, and they exist too… they’ve been there for multiple years too. People do this for every movie, it’s not exclusive hate for Nintendo, just hate for the idea of purchasing things.

I was on Bilibili a couple weeks ago, and the full movie was uploaded there multiple times…

While I don’t think it deserves to be the highest-grossing animated movie, I do think it deserves it more than Frozen 2, and most of Disney’s other recent animated movies, so go Mario

EDIT: Just realized it was the best opening weekend, not highest-grossing… still, of the 15 movies ahead of it, 11 are worse than this one in my opinion

People I’ve seen wanting Zelda… this movie worked because Mario doesn’t have a story. An Illumination Zelda movie wouldn’t work.

I think Luigi’s Mansion would be best. I also like Super Princess Peach, but it’s less likely.

@Korsica_Is_Best_Girl I don’t know laws about making mods or monetizing off it, but I’m pretty sure paying someone to do something legal is legal in all cases.

As long as making mods is legal, paying someone else to make it for you wouldn’t make it illegal, no matter how much you paid. I could be wrong about this, but I’m fairly certain.

Why would an Illumination movie based on a video game with the most bare-bones story imaginable have a story? The visuals and voice acting is all that matters in this movie, and they seem good enough. Glad viewers are enjoying it (:

@OFFICIALMichi I hadn’t already made my mind up, I was genuinely curious (my original comment came off a bit hostile, sorry). I assumed the directors meant in the mainline Mario games, which was why I was confused (I forgot about Super Princess Peach though)

I do like Peach’s role in this movie, and it seems at the very least done in a different way than all of those examples.

I was mostly referring to 2021, but upon googling it, Nintendo was actually part of E3 that year.

Anyway, for actual direct, if they don’t have one in June, they’ll probably have one sometime in the summer, or in April-ish.

@romanista I just read that article, and personally didn’t really think most of that was homophobic? I don’t really understand why having a character that’s afraid to come out (like most people in real life) would be homophobic.
The only part I’d say is homophobic is that they never mentioned it again afterwards, but I’m sure that’s not the only storyline that doesn’t get brought up again.

@Herna I think we were comparing it to 4. Both games are good (7 is a good score), but 4 is rated better by everyone. Plus, 7 is still the most common score for P3.

@JokerCK It’s literally an opinion. You can’t say someone’s opinion “shouldn’t be taken seriously”.

Unless you wanted to, why would you play any of them? None of the games will matter other than Age of Calamity and BotW, but neither have a very complicated story. There’s no reason you’d need to replay the entire series before this game.

How can a game be delayed to “early 2023-24”? Is it only the early part of both of those years? What about late 2023?

If you think that’s a “sad year”, that’s an opinion and not at all a fact, because that’s more games than any first-party developer’s going to release in a looong time.
