@nessisonett The thing is how well cloud gaming works varies based on the game. Some of the earlier cloud games weren’t very bad, so there’s not really any reason they shouldn’t review them, especially if they’re mini reviews like this.
@Slinkoy1 I don’t think he sounds bad necessarily… just always the same. He always has the exact same tone in his voice, and it just sounds sort of bored. It’s not bad, it just doesn’t really fit Mario in my opinion
Mario still looks chubby, but Peach looks good enough
@SonOfDracula With the exception of it being made by Illumination, there’s been no sign of this movie being a train wreck, and Illumination’s recent movies have been somewhat ok actually…
@victordamazio I just read every one of the 39 comments and not once did anyone say that. They said code in a box is stupid (it pretty much objectively is, it’s the same as purchasing the game digitally but wasting more plastic) but nobody said digital games were bad or that physical games are superior
@victordamazio What? Nobody said physical games are superior, but if you buy a physical game, you expect a physical game, not a download code for a digital game. Also most of your points don’t make sense. Here’s counter arguments:
True, everyone agrees with that.
Neither do digital games… at some point any game will stop working.
Switch doesn’t use discs so…
If the hardware doesn’t work, it doesn’t matter if the game is digital or physical?
Digital games also take space, just a different kind.
Not related to Just Dance 2023 in any way
Not related to Nintendo Switch in any way
Only true in certain scenarios, usually not. Also if you buy the game digitally you can still play it offline.
@Sisilly_G Cardi B is an extreme example, but if you chose one of the other artists from this game, like, say, Harry Styles or Dua Lipa, then ask someone if they’d rather dance to one of their songs or Beethoven, most people wouldn’t pick Beethoven, especially the core audience of Just Dance.
Also, there’s a lot of modern songs that have compositions equally good or better than some older pieces. I think most people complaining about modern songs opinions are about pop stars’ vocals (which is personal taste) but based purely on composition, I would argue quality hasn’t dropped that much over time, just styles have changed.
I agree though that variety is low in Just Dance. I think Fuser did a really good job having songs for anyone, and I’m sure most other music-based games are okay, but Just Dance specifically is terrible at variety.
So I agree about the personal taste and quality/artistic merit thing, but I’ve seen many people on this site complain about the former, but act as if it’s the latter.
@Sisilly_G I never understand why people have to criticize games like this or Fuser for the songs in it — songs are a preference, they’re not objectively “rubbish” or “crappy”, you just don’t like them personally.
That said, Just Dance is a terrible franchise because of its subscription service.
I still really want Genshin on Switch, because even if the hardware can’t fully handle it, it’ll be better than mobile (probably). I feel like when it is released, it won’t be announced, it’ll just be an “oh by the way” alongside some big update.
Metacritic User Scores are so wildly unforgiving, it’s hilarious
Based on what I’ve seen from people who went into the game wanting to enjoy it (so the minority of the Pokémon community) it’s still an enjoyable game.
@StarPoint Doug Bowser will be voiced by Jack Black as a reference to Jack Black playing Bowser in the animated Super Mario Brothers. Movie from Illumination in 2023 all those years ago
@Rayquaza2510 How is that animal abuse? If the cat was born like that, owning one isn’t hurting it. Unless you think the cat should be put down, but as far as I can see on the internet, they don’t feel pain from their ears… correct me if I’m wrong though
@DripDropCop146 I think you misunderstood what I meant… I never said it was an excuse, but if you can’t afford any other console and have a Switch, that’s your only way to play it. That’s just an objective fact, not an excuse
@benmalsky198 Okay so if you’re goal here is to convince people to play the game, why do you have a comment directly attacking the writer of the review? He did nothing wrong, he just shared his opinion, same as you.
@benmalsky198 If they made all their employees play every game, then whoever had the most positive opinion wrote it, this would be a very poor site… people are allowed to have opinions, just like you.
Also, you’re the only one who’s “fired up”.
@Benjamin_K I mean, to be fair, user reviews on Metacritic with series like Sonic have quite a bit of bias, especially in the first few days of release. Most of the people who want to give a genuine review would post it once they finish, so in a few days that score could go down.
I think Metacritic is a lot more helpful than some people on this site do, but that’s mostly for critic scores, not user reviews.
I haven’t played the game (nor do I plan to), but based on the review it seems like it should be a 6, not a 4…
Ok to be fair, my Switch broke and can’t read SD cards, so I have to have half of my games deleted at a time, and the DLC for this game was included in that. Otherwise I would be playing it more often, because I thought it was really fun.
I haven’t been following this game very well, but I remember when the first trailer released people thought it didn’t seem like there was a clear objective. Has anything changed about that, or does it still look like aimless wandering?
@popey1980 I believe Hitman 3 and The Forgotten City ran good enough, based on the reviews of this site. They actually got an 8 and 9 respectively, so they must have been pretty good.
@Shepdawg1 You can’t really say it’s a slow news day if it’s only one hour into the day and the one news story so far happens to be related to something you consider uninteresting. Especially since this happens to be a lot more important than people seem to think, you’re all massively underestimating how much verification ticks mean

Re: Poll: Is Zelda: Wind Waker's Hero Called 'Cat-Eye Link'?
@Polvasti That doesn’t really make sense, because “cat-eye Link” is in quotations, implying they go together…

Re: Review: Resident Evil 2 - Cloud Version - If This Is Your Only Way To Play, It's Not A Bad One

Elon Musk is so stupid, Twitter somehow got much much worse… I knew this would only take a couple days to happen…

Re: Sonic Frontiers Lead Composer Upset By Leaks, Says It's "Ruining The Experience For Others"

Re: Site News: So, Where's Our Harvestella Review?
@SwitchedOn_Games Needy means needing something… you act like you need this review more than you do, so that’s the definition of needy.
A delayed review is eventually good, but a rushed review is forever bad.
Re: Site News: So, Where's Our Harvestella Review?
