@SuperBro64 for Nintendo having a highly polished experience they can stand by and control is the "better gameplay experience". They see fan mods as a risk to their brand
@koopababble very good points. Personally without any reward at the end for catching them all I didn't find the need to, but I understand others might differ
I think they should have at least made it so there's a fixed number of upgrade material available and if you lose it from damage there's a trader who'll charge you a good amount to get it back
@UltimateOtaku91 yeah you should go to gale cliffs (the bottom right area) first. From there you unlock an ability and have opportunities to get some money relativity easily
Oh and from memory no special rods are required to fish there
I loved Dredge at first, but on finishing it I felt quite underwhelmed. It felt like it was hinting at having so much more content but it just... Didn't come.
E.g. the amount of crafting materials throughout the world was well above what you needed. Plus you could just... buy it from the travelling merchant?
The number of fish you just don't need to catch at all was massive. And what was the point of trophy fish? Was I missing a massive part of the game?
So Nintendo shifted from including ROMs of previous games in whole (I believe animal crossing has them?) to thinking of them as full titles and asking people to pay full price (or a subscription).
There is absolutely no way they would release full roms again, especially for a game like this. This is designed to get some more value out of older titles for a low cost while reacquainting people with these titles to encourage them to subscribe.
They'll be looking at NSO subscription rates in the wake of this release as a test for future monetization - perhaps this is even someone at Nintendo's project looking at how the next iteration of NSO/virtual console might work
Edit: to add to this, we'll never see animal crossing (GameCube) offered emulated by Nintendo for this reason, or if we do, they'll strip the NES games out (or put timers on them)
As someone who played one pokemon game I'm overwhelmed with the differences between all of the spinoffs, not in a good way
I understand there are people willing to play a game because of a Pokemon label but I must be one of the few who feel the opposite, it feels too tough to properly understand where an individual game sits in the larger universe
Literally just learning that Pokemon conquest wasn't a mainline entry

@NeonMullet yeah I'd love to be able to afford both and have a dedicated TV but that's more and more not the case for people
Re: Review: The Plucky Squire (Switch) - Enormously Charming, But Not So Plucky On Switch
@Ironcore why is 30fps such a problem now? I understand 60 has become the standard, but I don't notice when a game is running at 30 (I don't think)

@Rozetta so what would you call the massive downturn in sales of video games in America in that period?

No reason for Nintendo to reduce the price and lose money on each console to increase the overall number sold given the mammoth sales

@Pod would absolutely buy the witness on switch!
Re: Braid: Anniversary Edition Sales Have Been "Utterly Terrible", Says Creator
The game is a one trick pony followed by horse jumping over an obstacle and crashing face first into the ground... No need to replay

Re: Reminder: Zelda Switch Lite 'Hyrule Edition' Pre-Orders Are Now Live, Will You Be Getting It?
Joystick drift is def a problem on switch lite so unless you're comfortable swapping out the stick(s) after a couple of years of heavy play...

@PinderSchloss why?

Re: Review: Braid: Anniversary Edition (Switch) - Exquisite Commentary Elevates This Indie All-Timer
I enjoyed it up until the "wait an hour and a half for a single collectible" bit which made me loathe it.
Have this fixed this for this anniversary edition or are we still praising this game as the pinnacle of myopic game design?

Guaranteed nothing else is coming, they're putting 13 art cards (one for each title) in the physical edition
