Re: Dredge's Next Expansion Update 'The Iron Rig' Launches This August

I loved Dredge at first, but on finishing it I felt quite underwhelmed. It felt like it was hinting at having so much more content but it just... Didn't come.

E.g. the amount of crafting materials throughout the world was well above what you needed. Plus you could just... buy it from the travelling merchant?

The number of fish you just don't need to catch at all was massive. And what was the point of trophy fish? Was I missing a massive part of the game?

Anyway long story short I'm not getting this DLC

Re: Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Estimated Switch File Size Revealed

So Nintendo shifted from including ROMs of previous games in whole (I believe animal crossing has them?) to thinking of them as full titles and asking people to pay full price (or a subscription).

There is absolutely no way they would release full roms again, especially for a game like this. This is designed to get some more value out of older titles for a low cost while reacquainting people with these titles to encourage them to subscribe.

They'll be looking at NSO subscription rates in the wake of this release as a test for future monetization - perhaps this is even someone at Nintendo's project looking at how the next iteration of NSO/virtual console might work

Edit: to add to this, we'll never see animal crossing (GameCube) offered emulated by Nintendo for this reason, or if we do, they'll strip the NES games out (or put timers on them)

Re: Best Pokémon Spin-Off Games Of All Time

As someone who played one pokemon game I'm overwhelmed with the differences between all of the spinoffs, not in a good way

I understand there are people willing to play a game because of a Pokemon label but I must be one of the few who feel the opposite, it feels too tough to properly understand where an individual game sits in the larger universe

Literally just learning that Pokemon conquest wasn't a mainline entry
