@Whalehome buy a wired adapter, i have notice that certain wireless routers dont work well with the switch or i should say the switch doesnt work well with certain routers. myself i have a orbi its good but if i move from room to room the switch will not switch access points like every other device i have, i have to actually put it in airplane mode and back again when im done moving...but i bought a ugreen usb 3.0 usb adapter off amazon and it works great and before someone says theres no difference between 2.0 and 3.0 on the switch your wrong i have the hori adapter too and its about 21% slower im on gigabit internet too. the ugreen is also only 20$ at most.

@Tasuki i kinda hope they do but give us the option to turn it off as a nod to the SNES releases

@justin233 most disconections normally have nothing to do with speed your wireless router is probably either garbage(provieded by the internet provider) or not strong enough of a signal and its dropping off after its used for a little. either upgrade the router, or you can get a lan adapter and a usb-c to usb-a adapter that plugs into the bottom of the switch and will allow you to go wired while in handheld albeit a cord will have to run to the router.

@gcunit in all honesty every single game i own physical uses at least 3gbs of memory with updates, its gotten to the point that unless ninty makes it no reason to buy physical.

@JasonLee99 this reviewer is correct the game is nearly unplayable, and by nearly handheld as far as im concerned is dead for this game, its the worst experience ive had albeit i didnt own wwe, in docked mode its ok but it barely ever runs at 30fps and hangs it seems around 20ish with alot of dips into single digits when your running from something thats trying to eat you and the graphics dont load properly and look like ASS no textures just blobs everywhere

@TheGhostWhoWalks also check out the ugreen usb 3.0 on amazon its a 10/100/1000 and while people will say oh it wont make a difference i can prove that while doing speed test ten times with each my speeds were 21% faster with the ugreen over the officially licensed hori one.

@RushDawg arms got shafted i think they made a mistake of releasing it when they did they should have held back till about now when nothing is releasing before black friday of note...and no i dont think lets go was of note since you can breeze through the game in a weekend no challange sorry the most challanging thing was oplaying that game with useless motion controls(they added NOTHING)

@Dezzy all three games by sony are in the similar genre of action games, nintendo games are no where near the same, so they just need to release some new games im still hoping for metroid holiday 2019(wishful thinking) nintendo games dont directly compete with any other systems games there is no comparison on sony system to mario, zelda, or really anything in nintys library. still waiting on a new mario kart theres no way a port of mk8 is all we are gonna get this gen i would be shocked cause thats just lazy on ninty otherwise.

the biggest news out of this is Michael Pachter still has a job? ive never seen him correct about anything in gaming, if he was right the ps4 and xbox 1 wouldnt exhist if he was correct the ps4 would be streaming only, if he was correct nintendo would have went third party back in 2006 and then agian in 2011 and again in 2016. First off ive noticed he is a Nintendo hater and he is never correct about anything....everyone i know who owns a switch doesnt think of it as a hand held but thinks of it as a console that i can use away from the tv....

as for them missing thier goal sales i think SSBU will sell a many a system, i know they missed the black friday rush but i have seen just in my family both young and old gearing up to get a switch or buy ssbu if they already have one...hell two of my cousins both in thier 30s bought super smash bros switch editions already...my point is nobody knows how many systems SSBU will push when released.

@shani the motion controls were a mess and easily the one thing that made me not beat it, first and only zelda i just could not play through....give a controller option and all will be forgiven,.

if you want to make skyward sword better only one thing needs to happen...FORGET THE SWITCH HAS MOTION CONTROLS!!!!!

@Medic_alert we will see now... when i get it ill repost what i actually got, and it wasnt all that expensive was 25$ much for a 4gb or whatnot but not super expensive worse case scenario it goes in my 3ds

the game is very boring and extremely easy, wasnt even a remote challenge, and they just simplified way to many things to bring in a casual crowd for the game... would have been alot better if they didnt change the pokemon formula motion controls are fine but they just over simplified pokemon and for anyone whos played them in the past and isnt 12 years old will laugh at the ease they beat the game.

@sanderev i in all honesty would pay another 20 for a expansion pass for a year of more updates hell i would have preferred a splatoon 3 coming in 2019 instead of the octo expansion, i bought it played it for like 10 mins and havent been back it didnt add anything to the online experience and to me thats what splatoon has been about.

@bluesdance people are still playing the first one with no prob i just logged on it to play some og splatoon, i know 4 people who bought the game this week alone, so i do think they should have supported it till splatoon 3 comes out, and why cant we have voice chat with randoms like mario kart?

@Medic_alert nah i got it on ebay its by verbatim i figured worse case scenario ill use it in my wifes unit as she only plays mario kart and pinball fx so she doesnt even really need it, but if it does work and isnt slow as crap ill throw it in mine.

i bought the starter kit when it was on sale on amazon the other day for 40$ and i think i got a steal, that toys to live crap isn't needed so now i got a neat fox statue, the game is beautiful and fun as all hell, i thought it was gonna be dumb but its just a fun game that i think is under rated.

i already own this and filled it just bought a verbatim 1gb for 50$ off ebay class 10

@Dog its not a phobia its just pointless, it adds nothing and anyone who says otherwise needs to go outside and actually do things, gaming on a console is about relaxing not throwing invisible balls with a timing mechanism, im not saying dont have a motion control option but there was no reason for the excluion of pro controller or using the joycons as two controllers without motion or using the joycons connected to the joygrip especially since in handheld mode it works the way it should on those.

this game doesnt need to exhist i bought it then bought the poke ball for the "full Experience" and its boring, catching new pokemon without weakening them is so dull. and theres no need to throw all you got to do is a whip of the wrist so why not just let me push A and move on from motion controls they are a gimmick and always have been.

@carlos82 exactly what i have been saying this whole damn time theres no reason for no pro controller support, if they support button presses in handheld then they should give that option in docked, the pro controler does have gyros!!! so no reason.

@Spectra its honestly the why i think the game is joycon or pokeball only to try and get this add on sale, ive said it before theres no reason to force motion controls on us when weve been using a button for decades you can have motion controls but give us non motion control options.

@Abes3 never said i dont like what nintendo does im saying its a idiotic thing to not include standard controls as i havent seen the throwing mechanism do anything that a simple button push cant do...im not saying get rid of motion controls i think they are a gimmick but others like them, what im saying is theres NO REASON for them not mapping it to a button for those of us who dont want to throw a poke ball for 30 hours or more of gameplay. its gonna get annoying after a while i believe and its not for me.

@SEM theres no reason to not to thats the problem, pokemon has been find without you looking liike a idiot throwing a imaginary ball or waggling a controller....its doesnt add anything to a non vr game and only reason i can see this being this way is to try and get people to buy the poke ball thing....i dont like waggling or throwing my arms around to play my games its the reason i dont buy games like mario party that require me to do that...

@UmbreonsPapa its a cross breed its part pokemon go(not part of main series) and part pokemon yellow(main entry) this in my mind is what happens when someone goes lets remake pokemon yellow, then some kid is there and is say i like pokemon go, and the father decides we will combine both, the stupid idea of throwing a ball every time you want to catch a pokemon, with the remake of yellow..

the other reason why people say this including myself is cause nintendo themselves have said a "core pokemon game is coming in 2019" this was at the same time they announced pokemon go yada yada im sorry that name is to damn long for a pokemon game.

@Abes3 i did say theres no reason not to map the motion controls to a buttons on the pro controller none at all every pokemon game has worked with traditional controllers i like to sit back in my chair when i play not throwing my arms around like a idiot....i swear motion gaming is a just dumb it really doesnt add anything and is just another reason for nintendo to come out with a peripheral for one game. its not like i can use the 50$ pokeball controller for any other game.

@oji you say the switchs wifi is a joke but i can honestly walk out my door with switch in one hand and my ipad pro in the other and the switch will hold the wifi connection better....and before anyone says must be router for some reasn i got the netgear orbi with 3 satelites

will not have online multiplayer better mean will not be 60$ more like 40$ at most cause without that the game will get boring

@Abes3 your thinking is just stupid, first the pro controller has gyros and does work with motion, second if every pokemon game can be controlled with a regular controller why not leave that option and add the motion based option....only reason i can think is to try and bring in the pokemon go crown who i guess wouldnt be able to figure out on thier own that they could use motion or a pro controller. as for the two player part of your statement well one could use a pro and the other could use a joycon or how bout both can use pro controllers....if arms can figure out how to make a game that works great on motion to work equally good with a pro controller no reason they couldnt do this with pokemon go blah blah crappy name..i dont mind companies catoring to casual gamers but they seem to time and time again forgot there are people who would rather sit back and play a game without the chance of throwing it accross the room or accidentally punch your bud sitting next to you.

and with that im out!!!! wont be buying it, as i absolyutly hate the joycons they are to damn small for my hands...i dont even play in handheld unless im in a car or on a plane, if im in the house though its either docked or tabletop with a pro controller

i wouldnt buy this till we see how well it runs. if memory serves me right they were having issues with performance like 4 months ago...makes me wonder if they said ah its good enough...

@retro_player_22 i would almost litterally kill for a PSO on the switch.....favorite times playing a mmo was PSO on the gamecube....i hunted down the lan adapter for 2 weeks for the gamecube just to play that game

@Yasume with this service you can only play in portable mode if you have a wifi connection, so what if your traveling now you need to rely on a good cellular connection.

im just so happy i never got rid of my wavebirds have 4 of them in perfect working condition waiting for smash

@janpampoen my exact point only time i actually use voicechat is with friends and even then not normally.

you make the app out to be worst then it actually is. i just throw the app on IF i wanna talk to people, instead of on the other systems of having to mute everyone, here i can just say screw it dont feel like hearing 13 year olds dropping F bombs constantly thinking they sound cool when in reality they sound like idiots.. 99% of the time random people in chat is just horrible, for friends the only thing i think the app needs is a way to open chat without being in a game.. thats really my only gripe that and staying in a party when switching games.

@Bunkerneath hes on a pc its a rom, and your correct i watch it several times and he definatly hits a turtle or two and definatly hits a piranha plant but goes right through if you want the record play on original hardware, nothing else to me will count just for the simple reason you can mod the roms just enough to do it faster. i could be wrong but definatly feels like a rom to me.

@shani i lost mine after 210 hours when my niece at christmas deleted the whole system on me thankfully at that time that and zelda(which i beat) where the only two games i really needed the save files. sucked badly for splatoon 2

im sorry if people cant figure out that play while you wait will start a online session they probably should take a long walk off a short pier cause they are not smart enough to replicate the species. it wasnt rocket science took me maybe 30 secs before i was like ok lets try this

@Aneira well that doesnt answer like 75% of the things i said, doesnt solve teh wire issues doesnt allow me to play on the go, doesnt allow me to play theese games with friends across the country, and requires me to buy a 50-75$ devicethat i would now have to hack/mod to play roms that i can already play on my laptop.. your comment added nothing just made you feel superior to say hatchi. id much rather this then to go through all that and spend extra money, its litterally gonna cost me 5$ for the year of switch online and they will give me nes games that i do actually like most of them that have added online features to play with my friends who live all over now that we are adults....no brainer share a family plan with 7 of your buddies....shouldnt be hard.

@Aneira sorry but your wrong, if you love NES and SNES classics, then why would i buy another system that requires power and hdmi and either requires me to buy wireless controllers, use short wires, or buy extension cables for controllers. its not convenient in the least bit and was a flat out money grab to stop people from buying rasberrry pi and running roms with ANY bluetooth controller. i never bought the mini systems cause i saw what they were a money grab and in nintendo style they made sure they short shipped us so the demand seemed higher then it was...

i wish the poll had a second question after answering the first one age group question, cause im pretty sure all my buddies who are in thier mid 30 to late 30s(the age that grew up with NES) cant wait to play theese online or on the go...personally my friends are all over the country but with this i can bring back my old tournament brackets for exitebike, hockey, soccer, and the best tournament game out there for the nes balloon fight. I feel like the kids look at theese game and instantly get turned off to the graphics which is why alot of them like the SNES better

@MrGawain i bought last years fifa and 2k18 on the switch, i wont be rebuying eiuther on the switch , already bouth 2k19 on the ps4 cause i cant play in handheld on the switch those joycons kill my hands after about 15 mins. to small for my huge hands i guess. but i never buy fifa or madden in following years its every other.
