2 questions: (1) Can one choose to play as the girl in the thumbnail art with the blue and red hair and the sword instead of the guy? She looks way better than his design. (2) Any info on pre-orders for the divine edition?
Make it in the style of Netflix's Castlevania as some others stated above.
If it absolutely has to be live action then the actress needs to be somewhat tall. "Elizabeth Debicki" is over 6 feet tall and may be a good fit. If it has to be someone better known then maybe "Blake Lively" who's 5' 10" or "Karen Gillan" who's 5' 11" and dye her red hair blonde.
Please no Brie Larson or Scarlett Johanson for the love of all that is holy.
We owned a power glove for like 3 days in 1989. My brothers and I quickly realized how useless it actually was at playing most of our games and we traded it in for store credit at our local game shop. Good times!
I have the OLED and can confirm this IS definitely a problem for me. I cannot get the flap open with my fingers at all and I had zero issues with the original Switch's flap. My wife cannot open it either. Something as thick as a DS stylus point will not fit in the space to open it either.
I have a small plastic pry tool I use to open controllers/electronics and now I keep that in my Switch case and use that to open the flap carefully everytime. It's a pain, but I'll live with this solution for now.
I loved the first game and 100%'d it. To me it kind of felt like what a SNES sequel to Final Fantasy VI would have been. Speaking of which we need a FF1-6 collection on the Switch!
@Petew I was wondering this exact thing because I use a Fixture S1. I'd be willing to upgrade for the OLED screen but I bet many grip accessories will no longer work.
@PikaPhantom I was thinking the same thing about the red color being slightly off. I wonder if it's just the lighting/studio in the pictures that makes it seem more orange or neon red than the deep Mario red. We may have to wait and see actual unboxing and comparisons for the true colors.
@Buckyooliver I agree with you. I've held off on buying digital and have been waiting on a physical release of the actual game. Maybe the controller is a sign of a physical to come soon?
@Dezzy I couldn't agree more and I've been waiting for these. Give us FF1-6 Collection on Switch asap before all these other games. Even if they are the unretouched originals I'd buy it day one, especially physically.
I cannot obtain a physical standard copy of this game in the U.S. as it is sold out everywhere even after the first few days of release. Not sure if they just didn't produce enough copies or if the scalpers got to them first.
I just 100%d the game last week, which was surprisingly quite difficult to do. I enjoyed it, but the battle system just got extremely annoying for me.
I've never liked solving little puzzles like that and to have to do it hundreds of times throughout the game, for every battle, on a time limit is torture and I will most likely never play through the game again because of it.
@sanderev @X-blades @electrolite77 I see your points about VC/Gamecube/Wii games not bringing hardware sales, but I respectfully disagree for a couple of reasons.
Sure we've played the heck out of NES/SNES/N64 games over the years. But, Gamecube and Wii games would be a new thing and to be played on the best current portable screen, on the go? I think this alone would add immense value to the console, not just for the hardcore folks. That's one of the reasons we all went nuts for Mario 3D all stars recently and I know for a fact that title moved systems on its own.
Port over Metroid Prime Trilogy widescreen for example or some of the other recently done Zelda titles and see what it does for system sales. The portability just makes it very attractive.
These numbers would be even more ridiculous if they opened up a proper virtual console and ported GameCube games. They are definitely leaving money on the table there in my opinion.
The sad part is Sword/Shield has sold very well despite the developer's laziness with aspects of the game and not having all Pokemon in it. Now this sets a precedent for them to just do this everytime and sell piece-meal DLC later.
I spoke with my wallet and did not buy either of these games. Messing with their money is the only way they will listen.
@doctorhino Agree 100% on Devastation from 2015. The art style was like the generation 1 80's Transformers that I loved. I'm praying for a Switch port.
So now wouldn't be a good time to mention "Risk of Rain 2"? Lol.
On a serious note, I've never heard of the game until the comments in this post. Also BOTW and any/all coverage of it is welcome in my book. My favorite game a in a long time.
@KingBowser86 What was wrong with Fire Emblem? Not asking to be a troll, just legitimately asking since I had never played any of the Fire Emblem games before "Three Houses" and I adored that one.
@Slowdive I agree with you 100% that there should have been a great collector's edition like this for Super Mario 3D All Stars.
Luckily they made my purchase decision very easy with this Fire Emblem edition since I have zero desire for it because no physical cartridge is included. I hope no else else falls for it and scalpers get stuck with all of it.
@dil_power I liked it too and 100 percented it and the included Luigi U game. I enjoyed the original Super Mario Bros Wii more though and wished they had brought that over too.
Im waiting for a Final Fantasy Collection of the original 1-6. A couple of those are better than all the ones 7 and up in my opinion and I'm shocked they haven't been ported to the Switch already. Come on Square, take my money!
@Arckadius I know what you mean. I know I'll get my money back if it doesn't release, but I was still hoping for the physical U.S. copy.
On another note, wasn't 505 the same company that botched the port of "Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night" on the Switch originally? I still loved the game and 100%'d it in the Switch upon it's release, but I admit this was a poor porting job. Very noticeable difference when I went back and played it on the PC.
I've never heard of these and I absolutely love old school turn based RPG's. I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on any of them due to all the "mediocre to negative" comments I'm seeing.
Picking up my pre-order at my local GameStop here in the U.S. today when they open at noon. We made sure with the management in person last week that they were holding the pre-ordered / paid-for copies in the back so they can make sure to fulfill those customers on day one.
@Haida Hey I don't have Twitter, did they really say they were releasing both physically as standard editions at some point in the future for the Switch? I can't justify spending $150.00 for these but I'd spend $60 no problem.
I half-jokingly suggested an unlockable Galaxy 2 after completing the other 3 games in a post days ago. If this is true it's gonna rock the gaming world upon discovery.
I loved Sands of Time on the GameCube in the early 2000s. I played the original on the SNES when I was about 12 and I remember I could not get past the first few screens because of the puzzle solving and difficulty.
Anyone know what Prince of Persia game exactly that this is a remake of?

@nbell31b that's exactly what I was thinking. We'll see what happens.

I would love a New Game + with all of Samus'Metroid abilities or her final suit from the beginning.
Re: Random: Uh-Oh, Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack - Overview Trailer' Is Generating A Lot Of Dislikes
For this much money, I need both Smash DLC character packs to be free as well as Gameboy/Advance & Gamecube games. Then we'd be talking.

Re: One Of The Rarest Mega Man Titles Is Getting A Physical Reprint
@LinktotheFuture Have to agree with you. I would've bought the physical had it been brought to the Switch

I still haven't gotten around to playing this. I have the physical Switch version in my backlog. I know I'm super late.
Re: Feature: Best Super Nintendo (SNES) Games
Final Fantasy VI (III U.S.) is better than Chrono Trigger imo. But, I can understand the argument for the other side on that one.
Still waiting on a FF1-6 collection on Switch. Take my money all day on that release.
Re: Review: Sakuna: Of Rice And Ruin - A Unique Farming Sim Which Requires Vast Reserves Of Patience
This game's physical standard edition is already sold out everywhere in the U.S. about 1 week after release.
I hope they make more because I don't want the collector's or digital edition.
Re: Sega Ages Team Reveals The Most Popular Games In The Series
Phantasy Star without a doubt for me. I wish they would re-release those Phantasy Star remakes that were on the PS2 in the 2000s.
Re: XIII Remake Was Received So Poorly That The 2003 Original Actually Sold Better Last Week (UK)
No cell shaded graphics? No purchase from me. That was the one thing that really stood out about this game.
Maybe on their "roadmap" plans they can just include the original game as an option for free and I would buy this then.

Re: Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues Launches On Switch In November In Europe
This is the best current TV show on right now period. If you haven't seen it and you've seen the 80's Karate Kid movies you are missing out.
As far as the game, I'll wait for a discount/reviews.

@arekdougy That would be awesome. Even if they just did widescreen support for 1-6 and left the rest alone I'd be happy.
Re: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Has Received A New Update On Nintendo Switch
@ozwally For me BOTW was better, but I did play it first so that may have something to do with it.

@Arckadius Just got another email from Best Buy in the U.S. stating the release has now been moved to Tue, December 1st, 2020.

Re: Random: Someone Made A Manual For Super Mario 3D All-Stars To "Complete The Physical Set"
@RCGamer Yes, go to Etsy. In the search box type the seller's name MBPUK and it will take you right to his store.
Note: It's $20.06 with shipping to the U.S. at the moment for the Mario All Stars booklet, so it can get pretty pricey.
Re: 505 Shuts Down Indivisible Production After Lab Zero Closure
@Arckadius Same here. I've had this pre-ordered since May from Best Buy in the U.S. and they sent me on email on September 29th stating the following:
"We were just informed that the release date for (Indivisible, Nintendo Switch) has been updated to Tuesday, November 17, 2020.
You don't need to take any action at this time. We'll keep you posted if anything else changes, and we'll let you know as soon as it's ready."
I hope I get it.

Re: Ori 1 + 2 Getting Standard Physical Releases On Switch This December
@Valdney I was asking the same question. No preorders up for the regular physical editions anywhere that I can find.
Re: Ori 1 + 2 Getting Standard Physical Releases On Switch This December
Where can these be pre-ordered in the U.S.? I checked with GameStop and Best Buy and neither have them up yet.
Re: Poll: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?
Picking up my pre-order at my local GameStop here in the U.S. today when they open at noon. We made sure with the management in person last week that they were holding the pre-ordered / paid-for copies in the back so they can make sure to fulfill those customers on day one.

I loved Sands of Time on the GameCube in the early 2000s. I played the original on the SNES when I was about 12 and I remember I could not get past the first few screens because of the puzzle solving and difficulty.
Anyone know what Prince of Persia game exactly that this is a remake of?

Re: More Than 20 Million Courses Have Now Been Uploaded In Super Mario Maker 2
@Yosher I played through and 100%'ed the story mode, played a few player created stages and I was done with the game.
I enjoyed my time with the game, but I don't like creating the stages. I imagine for the people who like to make their own levels the game is a dream.
