I just finished act 3 last night. What a game. Simply blown away with how Team Cherry delivered such an amazing product at such a low price. I never encountered any of these issues but glad they’re staying on top of it all.

@stinky_t to be fair to Nintendo, a lot of new game features are included in the free update. They could have charged for that and they’re not going to.

@milonorth the developer is probably making the same amount from digital as they are physical - what with Switch 2 carts being as expensive as they are.

@Bizzyb the frame rate is uncapped. This is why the PS4 code runs at 60 FPS on the PS5. There is no way it runs at a 30 FPS lock.

So… I literally just bought Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma. It caught my eye because it was full on cart. Never played a Rune Factory, story of seasons, or harvest moon game. With the paltry selection of full game on cart releases, I imagine my physical collection will be a lot smaller because I do not support game key cards. That said…

Wow, Guardians of Azuma is pretty good so far. Kudos to Marvelous for giving customers what we are asking for and actually want. I’d probably not have this game on my radar if it weren’t for the GKC blunder yet here we are. And I’m looking into further Marvelous games. I imagine I am not the only one.

@DonkeyKongBigBoy Nintendo first party games often don’t need patches - because you know. Nintendo actually does quality control and beta tests their games - unlike literally everybody else.

Why oh lord can’t we have these expensive things have user replaceable batteries? For the love of all that is holy…

@Suketoudara to be fair to developers who are not Nintendo EPD - EPD (who made BotW, TotK, Mario Oddyssey, etc.) and are wizards at what they do. They are hands down the best at squeezing out every bit of performance possible given the hardware they have. Neither Link’s Awakening nor Echoes of Wisdom was made by EPD. They were developed by Grezzo, using the unreal engine of I recall.

They could do what valve did with the steam deck.

1) announce pre orders will go live at a specific date and time, exclusively sold from Nintendo
2) instead of pre orders selling out, when the first batch is sold, start selling second batch with target deliveries (Q1 2026, Q2 2026, etc.)
3) allow people to pre order to get in line

@Lizuka we’ll have to agree to disagree there. I hated it. The original is better in almost every way. Especially the soundtrack.

@echoplex I think you’re mistaken. Secret of Mana was never remade. It sure was not. And nobody can convince me otherwise. That said, I’d love an HD-2D remake of secret of mana.

Curious. Has anybody’s Pro controller drifted? I’ve only had drifting in a dual sense controller. Never a switch controller. But I rarely use the joy con. Mostly use the pro controller.

@RiasGremory incorrect. Nintendo did control the game price of this one when they published it. Now that they aren’t the publisher and Square Enix is, Square enix sets the price. Publishers set the price of video games. Not the developers.

Maybe if they didn’t discount their games two weeks after release, they wouldn’t have gotten into this mess. Notice Nintendo never drops the price of their games. And when they ever go on sale, it’s a year plus after release.

Don’t devalue your product. Also, um. Make a good product.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t care. I don’t get credit for work I did at past jobs either. I collected my paycheck when I worked there, and now I work somewhere else and collect my paycheck from my new employer.
