I think this doesn't mean a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g. If they would work on a 2D game that has nothing to do with Mario, of course they would use Mario for the job's ad. It's their mascot and what better way to hide what they are really working on ?
As for the 3D Mario game, of course they are working on one. They're always working on at least one or two 3D Mario at a time since 1994-1995.
@Ladasta You have exactly nailed my problem ! I think I got lost by thinking a lot of games are interesting (which is true) and I SHOULD play them (which is not true). That's why I have so many games I don't play and I don't feel anymore the pleasure I had before while playing. Thanks !
@dugan To make the decision harder, I'm asking myself the question if I shouldn't take that time to play Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3, which I still haven't touched...
The bottom of my thoughts is that I think I had a better time with video games when I had only the money to buy one each 3 months than today, where I can buy 2-3 a month. A good Zelda, a good fighting game and a good puzzle game : maybe that's all I need to enjoy myself with video games.
I played 120 hours, beat the 4 main dungeons and Ganon but have still 60% of regular dungeons to visit (!). And a lot of places to visit.
But I stopped playing more than a year ago. And since then no other game has offered me as pleasure as BotW.
On top of that, I realized recently I've never visited a village (the one from Windwaker).
Now I'm really asking myself if I should start this game again from the beginning and enjoying it as much as possible, even if that means spending 300-400-500h hours on it. And forget about other video games releases. It would mean such a change in my habits (I buy 2-3 games a month - almost never finish them), which is a little scary, but that would open me to more immersion (and pleasure) into one fantastic game. Big dilemna !
@MrBlacky I guess you're right. A patch has been released on Switch August 1st or something like that. As a XBox One 1 player (for that game), I focused on the delay of the X1 patch. And I've concluded wrongly the Switch patch was also delayed. (I've read some comments that imply that too).
So to be fair, it's not delayed, you're absolutely right : it's still not announced. Thanks for the clarification ! It's a Switch patch release update which says "We still don't have any date to announce". As Nintendolife wrote correctly in its article.
@MrBlacky "As mentioned in the last update, the bulk of our development resources are still being put into the major Switch update. We donβt have an ETA to share with you on the full revamp, but we are on track to deliver on our internal dates."
And for the record, the Switch patch is not the only one being pushed back. Xbox One patch was planned for late august and is now announced for last week of september. At least it has a release window, unlike switch patch. (I don't know about the PS4 patch)
Xbox One's patch was due for the end of August and is announced now for last week of September. I don't know about PS4 : maybe it has been released like it was planned at the beginning of August ? Maybe not.

That's nice but that's not the first time an exclusiv game gives a nod to another. Sony's Uncharted Trilogy had a "The Masterthief Collection" trophy which was a reference to Microsoft's Halo Masterchief Collection.
And I think there's a lot of other exemple like that.
I tried Sonic on Friday for the first time and Crash on Saturday and it's day and night : CTR is immediatly fun and TSR is ... interesting but not very fun.
@Wavey84 Haha. My worst nightmare was on Final Fantasy Tactics : after 50 hours of game, I arrived in front of a boss who was wayyyy too strong for my characters. But the save point was juste before him. And there was no way to go back to upgrade my characters : the f$*%Β£ing door that got me here was now locked. I tried 40-50 times to kill him with different techniques. There was no way. I never finished the game...
@Tsurii Do you think even Project Zero Maid of the Black Water would fit on another system than the Wii U ? (it's a real question not irony : I haven't played the game)
Hahaha, I love this video !
Gameplay still seems a little odd and slow to me but it looks like a fuc**** great hommage to Castlevania by its own creator.
And I want to encourage that.
Day one for me. But not on Switch.
I need it to be smooth and I guess Switch is only 30fps.
@sixrings I had also in memory the last Yoshi on Wii U : beautiful but a pain in the a** to watch animated in 30fps. Look at the mod someone made to make it run emulated at 60fps on PC (and 4K !). It changes totally the feeling of the game.
That's the real reason I'm glad Switch's Yoshi is in 60fps.
@sixrings OK, I replied a little too fast, sorry : I have absolutly nothing about giving the choice !! They should indeed. For exemple I'm so sad that they don't give a performance mode in Sekiro on XBox X to have a locked 60fps in 1080p (it's only 1800p with 40fps). So yep, we should have the choice. The "nightmare" I was talking about was a pure question of taste : I would should the performance mode every time.
And no, I'm not the kind of gamer you're mentionning : I'm not a huge fan of the latests CoD or every football game ever, but I'm glad they exist. The more the merrier !! π
@BlackenedHalo Your comment is a nightmare for me π 60fps will always be the best choice as far as I'm concerned ! The gameplay feels so much more precise.
Looks great ! I bought the Xbox One X version but when I see that footage, I'm thinking I would have bought the Switch version instead. Portable mode rules.
I totally understand they don't show the Switch version for now. And I totally understand it doesn't mean it's a bad port. It might be a great port. But it will be obviously far less beautiful than the XBox and PS4 versions. And general public don't get that.
So trailers have to show the game in its best versions. General audience won't care if it's the switch or the PS4 version : if the game looks like a PS3 game, they will think it looks like that on PS4/X1. Even if it's a switch labeled trailer. Public don't understand the difference of power between those machines like you and me in this comments section.
I'm not even sure we'll have a public switch trailer. Maybe a trailer that show PS4/X1 AND Switch versions, making its point it's not the same. That would be smart.
@60frames-please I would love that but I think it will be harder (and more expensive) to go back into the code of 3D games than 2D. Because their are a loooooot more complex !
So if SNES remixes is definitily possible, I wouldn't bet on N64 or GameCube.
