Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase To Air Tomorrow, 11th August

Silksong would be cool, but I doubt it. Sports Story seems more likely and I would love that. Cuphead DLC and physical release date is another pipe dream, but a guy can hope right? Oh, and a release date for TMNT: Shredder's Revenge would be neat. Can't wait to be disappointed tomorrow and blame Nintendo!

So was the "Zelda" figure her son played with as a child created by a Japanese author? Or was the "Zelda" figure created by a Japanese author that her son played with? Phrasing is important. I mean, it would be cool if I had a kid that played with Shiggy, but that would make me pretty damn old.

Re: Feature: Our Most Treasured Zelda Memories

tzahn

Lots of memories with Zelda, but the one that sticks out most is related to Ocarina of Time. I was so excited for the game and preordered it to get the gold cartridge. I remember getting stuck in the Lost Woods and not knowing how to advance. We had a school trip and I was gone for the day. My older brother was home from college for the Holidays. He always watched me play and knew that I was stuck. He took the time when I was gone to play it and help me out. When I got back from the trip, he told me that he figured out the Lost Woods trick and showed it to me. I was so excited and dove further into the game getting immersed in everything. Still remains my favorite Zelda game and overall video game to this day.

@Clyde_Radcliffe I will second what everyone else has said so far and say yes I think you'd enjoy it if you liked OoT and WW. There's no cooking you have to do, the weapons don't break, and as the others said the world is much more streamlined and linear. Be aware that this is a pretty hefty game though in terms of time to play through and you will be revisiting locations multiple times. If you like story, this is arguably the game that focuses on it more than any other.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch OLED Model Looks Lovely, But May Also Disappoint

tzahn

Personally, I hope this signals that there won't be a "Pro" model and the OLED Switch will just bridge the gap between now and when the Switch successor comes out. I'd much rather they get a few more years out of the current family of models and then release a meaningful, substantial upgrade in the form of the next Switch. I understand Nintendo said they see the Switch as halfway through it's life cycle, but they have to be cognizant of waiting too long to release the next one and have the software start to run dry. Late 2023/early 2024 has always seemed like a good window for the next Switch to me.

Re: Nintendo "Holding Back" On Name Of New Zelda Game To Avoid Revealing Too Much

tzahn

What if Breath of the Wild 2 is the conclusion of the whole Ganon/Link/Zelda story arc? There seem to be pretty obvious Skyward Sword connections and Nintendo seems very intent on people playing that game to see where the origin story starts. We already know the original BoTW is the last game in the timeline, so naturally BoTW2 will at least partially take place after that. Maybe they tie back to the beginning and actually give a conclusion similar to what they're aiming to do with Metroid Dread? They could always slot games in between if they still want to revisit the characters and story.

Re: Nintendo Resumes Distribution Of Switch System Update 12.0.3

@Mr_Humpf I tried all the fixes you mentioned and a few others I found online last night for over an hour. No success at all. This is pretty frustrating that there's been no fix. I can only assume it's such a small portion affected by it that it's not a huge rush. It sucks.

Re: New Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Footage Shown, Aiming For A 2022 Switch Release

tzahn

I loved this! Seems like it might be destined to be the big 2022 Holiday title, though I guess it still could be earlier depending on how their work progresses.

So, Zelda falls in the pit that was at the end of the first trailer and does all the underground stuff while Link does the overworld and sky stuff? Sounds like fun.

As for people wondering about more Zelda games and merch for the anniversary, they don't want to cut into Skyward Sword sales. That's likely why they only mentioned the Game & Watch. I'm anticipating a Zelda anniversary focus after Skyward Sword is out with other games, merch, etc. Here goes all my rupees.

Re: There's A Zelda Game & Watch Coming This Christmas

tzahn

Well, here's one of the first Zelda anniversary things I don't need but will definitely buy! I'm sure they'll talk about more anniversary things after Skyward Sword is out. Possibly have an anniversary specific Zelda direct like they did for Mario.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch 'Pro' Reveal Expected Before E3, Out This Year

tzahn

Well now, this potentially makes my thoughts of BoTW2 slipping to 2022 totally wrong. Maybe it launches earlier than I expected with the new model...that'd be one heck of a launch title for it.

It's too bad they likely won't have any special editions at launch. I want to upgrade, but only for a Zelda model.

Re: The Apple Vs. Epic Lawsuit Has Sparked 'Xbox Game Pass On Switch' Rumours Again

tzahn

Microsoft wants Game Pass on everything, so of course they want it on Switch. The ball is obviously in Nintendo's court. If (and that's a big IF) Game Pass comes to Switch it will be on Nintendo's terms. Possibly a highly curated lineup that features only games not already on/not possible natively on Switch or maybe just Microsoft exclusive titles. Nintendo won't do anything that will harm sales potential on their own system.
