I have to be honest though, when I saw the beginning of the trailer with the very feudal Japan motif I thought we were getting another Pokemon Conquest game and I was SO here for that.

Also, Pokemon Legends is a stealth game even if they didn't outright say it.

They categorized this as an action RPG, but there were turn based battles...it'll be interesting to see how this comes together. I like the concept.

Four Swords Adventures is consistently underrated now that Minish Cap is getting some love.

Twilight Princess is consistently overrated.

I hope we'll get an Indie World presentation in the next few months showcasing Sports Story, Silksong, and the Cuphead DLC/physical release.

Aggelos is only $4.99. I downloaded it and am having a great time so far.

@SeantheDon29 Minimally enhanced is more accurate. There are a lot of people that don't have access to an emulator, nor the time or ability to do what you're describing. And that's setting aside the legality of it, depending on if you actually own the game and ripped it yourself, etc. Those people might be more eager to pay for the work that was done by someone else.

Again, if you don't want it then don't buy it. That's kind of the point here. Speak with your wallet. Until a game like this bombs for Nintendo they'll keep doing it.

I would be happier if the price was cheaper too. However, I understand why they're doing this. In their mind, the game has a $60 value and a large majority of people will pay for that. Anti-consumer is such a broad term that's used way too often in cases where the consumer just disagrees with the business practice and shouts about it being anti-consumer. Businesses are created (and stay open) by making money and serving their best interest. Anything they do can be labelled anti-consumer.

Say I'm a plumber. I fixed a pipe at your house 10 years ago for $100. You call me today and I fix the exact same pipe. Is it anti-consumer for me to charge you $100 for doing the exact same thing I did 10 years ago?

@SeantheDon29 "No Enhancements" is factually incorrect. And this is not anti-consumer, it's normal business practice. If you don't want it, don't buy it.

If you don't want to pay $60, then don't buy it. A game's value shouldn't be based on how old it is. DKC:TF is absolutely worth buying even at $60. Will you get $60 of value personally from Skyward Sword? If so, buy it. If not, wait for a sale. Nintendo will charge the price that they believe people will pay for it. That's supply and demand.

Twilight Princess has slowly fallen down the list over the years in my eyes yet I still bought both that game and Wind Waker on Wii U. I will probably buy both for Switch as well.

It really depends on how long they feel the Switch's life cycle is. If they're only halfway through now it makes sense to release a mid-gen refresh. If they plan on releasing the Switch successor in 2023 as some have speculated, it would make more sense to just ride the current models and put the R&D into that instead. I would feel a little burned if I got a Switch "Pro" this year with mildly upgraded features and then the new successor came out in less than 2 years.

I learned a lot from video games as a kid. Lots of reading comprehension and problem solving skills in games like Ocarina of Time and Pokemon. Harvest Moon 64 was my crash course in time and resource management. Mega Man X was where I learned patience and anger management skills.

Yeah, have to agree on those above questioning 10 hours as "short". I have limited gaming time and that's a significant commitment. Sometimes I prefer a shorter game that isn't full of padding. I don't need to spend dozens of hours in a game to enjoy it.

Never got into the actual physical card game besides buying a few packs, but I played the crap out of the GBC game. I'd love a new one. Heck, release the old one too.

Tropical Freeze is too low. It's one of the best games of all time, let alone a top 5 Wii U game. I guess no Funky Mode was the deal breaker.

I love the old AKI games, so I was eager to download the demo. I tried it and couldn't get past the way the game feels. I respect that it was made by one person and is a love letter to wrestling in general, but I didn't have any fun actually playing this game.

As much as exercising helps and is important (it is), diet is a bigger factor in how you look and feel.

You want to avoid this? Create your own IP.

I have such great memories of DKC3 as I got it for Christmas in 1996. Still a very good game too when I played it a few years back.

Nintendo focuses on "fun" first an foremost. Always have, always will and that's why I continue to be a fan.

This is why I'm waiting on Immortals. It'll be on deep discount within months and then I'll pick it up.

It's not just Australia. Many places in the world (including where I live) don't have access to reliable high speed internet. It took me literally 3 days to download a 14ish GB game. This is why I don't play online multiplayer either.

This was a highlight for me.

Sounds like The Messenger. That game was great, but would've been even better if they didn't try to shoehorn Metroidvania concepts into it.

This is cool. I thought the first one was fun enough and it seems that they've been dealing with the Zelda team from Nintendo much more closely this time. What a great way to expand the lore that they set up in BOTW and allow more time for BOTW2.

I will get some of these things, but all I know is if they do the same thing for Zelda's 35th next year I will end up spending an ungodly amount of money.

I played every generation, sometimes multiple playthroughs like both Gold and Silver, and I didn't encounter a wild shiny besides the guaranteed encounters until Let's Go Pikachu. Granted I wasn't specifically hunting for them, but you'd think after hundreds of hours I would've seen at least a few. It was genuinely surprising when it happened. It was a Golbat by the way.

This possibly means the rumored Mario 3D collection is a holiday title. While it may not be exciting for everyone, that will sell like crazy.

If you notice the branding on the last 2 presentations, it may be a monthly occurrence. Nintendo Treehouse Live July 2020 and Nintendo Direct Mini July 2020. Maybe they'll tie the first party games into a Treehouse Live segment? Either way, we know there are more in the future and stating July 2020 for each makes it seem like a monthly or every other month schedule instead of something quarterly like Summer 2020.

Yup. More constant communication. I think a general direct will happen, but they were talking about finding alternate ways to get their information out. This is one of those ways.

Man I love the PoP trilogy from the Gamecube. The Wii one was ok too. Just give me HD versions of the trilogy and I will be happy.

@MrPerson0 That's a fine opinion, but I don't agree and that's the great thing. Super Metroid is the best Metroid IMO.

I think Metroid Prime 4 will sell well and I hope it's a good game, but that doesn't mean 2D Metroid should go away.

3D Metroid is fine. 2D Metroid is great. Both should co-exist.

@antonio2244 Not necessarily. He'd be under an NDA and wouldn't be allowed to speak on it if it was actually in development. After the reception of the Tropical Freeze OST and his prior work on the series, I highly doubt a new DKC game would be made without trying as hard as possible to have Wise work on the music.
