Recently started playing this again. It's a really good entry in the series. I'd played it a bit for a few hours when it came out, but hadn't touched it since. I put a ton of hours into Stardew Valley in between. Coming back to it now, it's interesting to see how much of this version of HM is similar to SV, which came out 3 years later. The gameplay loop with crafting the blueprints is very addicting. Very fun game!
I hope this is true. I just rage quit the original yesterday actually. Got to a ridiculous difficulty spike and it really put me off. Otherwise, I was really enjoying the game.
Even if they are planning on releasing a new model, they wouldn't tell us until shortly before launch. Otherwise, they run the risk of losing out on sales. It's a business after all.
I really enjoyed this game. It was familiar, yet different enough from the Harvest Moon games that they stand apart and each are enjoyable in their own way. I'm always up for new, good games in the genre.
I enjoyed my time with the game. Didn't quite reach the highs of the DKC games for me, but the fact that I even considered it in the same breath is encouraging. That impossible lair though? Blech. Honestly my least favorite part of the game. I eventually cleared it, but I didn't have fun doing it. The actual levels were much more fun and satisfying.
This was my game of the decade as well. I own every Nintendo console and play a decent number of games, but BoTW was the first in a long time that became an obsession. Seriously, I thought about the game all the time when I wasn't playing it. Trying to figure out some of the clues to make a shrine appear without resorting to a guide (proud that I didn't have to). I savored every moment of it. I was able to get lost in that world for hours at a time, or even a few minutes if that's all I had. Playing BoTW reminded me of being a kid again and rekindled those feelings of wonder.
While I still prefer Zelda games in general, I loved Witcher 3. I read all of the books before the Switch release and loved how they adapted the characters. This game was everything I was hoping for when I bought Dark Souls and more.
Probably a Feb/March Direct then. Get some last hype for Animal Crossing and preview what's to come before E3. Maybe show a snippet of the big Holiday 2020 title that will be the focus for E3.
@BongoBongo Same thing here with my US account. I guess one can use platinum coins for a 7 day Japanese online trial period to coincide with the download and play it that way if someone is so inclined.
Not every direct needs to be earth shattering. There are a ton of games coming for the rest of 2019, so why take the attention away from those before the Holiday sales push? They gave updates a few early 2020 games. Animal Crossing slipping to March might have pushed back some other games because it will be a HUGE focus and system seller. They'll outline future games in the Jan/Feb direct and then again at E3. People keep expecting them to announce games years in advance, but at this point its seems they'd rather talk about games coming in the next 6 months which makes absolute sense business-wise.
I wonder if the progress will carry over if the full version you purchase is a different region than the demo? I'm probably a weird case. I'll be downloading the demo on my US account, but preordered a European retail copy because I could get it quite a bit cheaper. Hopefully they play nice together. I thought I read that things like DLC need to be purchased and downloaded from the same region that the game card is from. If so, I guess I'll have to make a European shell account to go along with my Japanese one.
Already have this preordered, but I'm very excited to get a start on this! 10 hours is awesome especially considering the other games coming out soon that I'll want to budget time for...a nice head start for sure.
Already preordered and am reading through the books in preparation. This will probably be wrapped up and waiting under my Christmas tree as a present to myself considering I'll likely be deep in DQ11, Link's Awakening, Spyro Trilogy, and the countless other games that release around this time. Seems like a good Winter game to me!
Dr. Eggman spinoff. A psychological thriller where he deals with bi-polar disorder brought on by the confusion between being called both Dr. Robotnik and Dr. Eggman.
If that rumored date is true and it's sandwiched between Link's Awakening and DQ11, may God have mercy on my soul for the lack of free time. At least I know I'll have games to last me until approximately mid 2020!
@Haxxor I'm confused...did you read all the books or just 3 of them? Because there are 8 in total. 5 in the main saga, 2 separate short story compilations that were referenced in the article, and one somewhat separate novel set between stories from the first compilation.
While I have no interest in this personally, good move by Nintendo. These will sell like hot cakes throughout the holiday season. Now 2020 can probably bring a redesign of the original model.
I had the first 2 Turok games on N64 and never got very far. I know there was a "reboot" already, but this is always a series that I thought had a cool premise and could be revived in an exciting way. This...is not what I had in mind.
I'll echo the main sentiments here...I hope it's later for the well-being of my wallet and free time. Spyro Trilogy, Link's Awakening, DQ11SEoaEADE(hope that's right...). That's not even mentioning physical of Collection of Mana at the end of August and possibly Astral Chain. Also want to get Ni No Kuni some time. Oh, and I wanted to read through the Witcher books before playing and just finished book 2 of 5, but still need to read the short story collections in between. Have mercy please and do a November or December release!

Re: Nintendo Expands The Switch Online SNES And NES Library With Four More Games
The longer it goes without DKC representation, the more I think there'll be some sort of collection sold separately. I know I'd buy it.

I hope this is true. I just rage quit the original yesterday actually. Got to a ridiculous difficulty spike and it really put me off. Otherwise, I was really enjoying the game.
Re: Xbox Boss Doesn't See Nintendo As A "Main Competitor" In The Next-Gen War
They're not competitors because they're BFFs.
Re: Random: Nintendo's Selling Empty Boxes Of The Animal Crossing Edition Switch
This is ridiculous and I actually kind of love it.
I just wish the box was bigger, so the box with an actual Switch could fit inside it.
Re: Start Your Island Life With This Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch
Yeaaaaah, this is going to sell a few units ladies and gents.
Bring on that BoTW 2 version of the Switch and I will gladly open my wallet.

Re: Cuphead Gets A Limited-Time Discount On The Switch eShop
Also waiting on the physical release. I almost bit on the $9 sale at Target for digital, but the deal was already gone when I got to the website.

Re: Switch Online Users In Japan Will Soon Be Able To Play Fire Emblem Warriors For Free
@patbacknitro18 Seems like they're pushing games that weren't huge sellers in the first place. Maybe Kirby or Yoshi this time?

DKC is one of my favorite franchises, so I'll be getting this. It will be a good mixer between sessions of DQ11SEoaEADE and Witcher 3.

With a few 2020 teasers sprinkled in.

Swerve...this game will save on the cartridge just like old times.

This looks like a good game to rotate in with the hour-eaters coming out like DQ11S and Witcher 3.
Re: Curse Of The Sea Rats Is An All-New Metroidvania Headed To Switch
@Yodalovesu I just checked and apparently there's an episodic Redwall game that's been partially released on Steam. Huh, who knew?

Give it a Redwall skin and I'd bite. Eulalia!
