Earlier on, French video game publisher and accessory maker Nacon held its 'Nacon Connect 2022' broadcast. While The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was arguably the highlight, there were a handful of other Switch games shown off by the developer.
For your convenience, we've rounded them up into this single post. Enjoy!
RoboCop: Rogue City - Gameplay Reveal
This game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in June 2023. Here's a bit about it, along with a first look at the gameplay look:
Welcome to Detroit; crime runs rampant as the city lies on the edge of ruin, people fighting for scraps as others live extravagant lives of luxury. Control of the Detroit Police Department is given to the Omni Consumer Products corporation in an attempt to restore order. You are that solution, RoboCop, a cyborg tasked with protecting the city. The triumphant return of RoboCop wouldn’t feel right without the man who brought so much life into the role, and we’re excited to reveal that Peter Weller will be performing voiceover work on the game. Enjoy this first look at gameplay and for the record, “dead or alive, you’re coming with me!”
Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator - Commented Gameplay Trailer
This restaurant simulator will be released on 2nd February 2023. Here's the description and a gameplay trailer:
Create and manage your dream restaurant! Menus, purchasing, décor, staff, equipment, customers… and don't forget the actual cooking! Experience the daily life of a restaurateur and earn your awards from the MICHELIN Guide.
Blood Bowl 3 - Blood Bowl for Dummies Trailer
Blood Bowl 3 got a new trailer. There's no release date just yet for this bloody fantasy football game set in the Warhammer universe, but if we hear anything we'll be sure to let you know.
Brutal, crazy, tactical… this is BLOOD BOWL! The iconic death sport returns with the new video game of fantasy football faithfully using the latest board game rules and new content.
Crown Wars - The Black Prince - Reveal Trailer
This tactical turn-based strategy game is coming to Nintendo Switch at some point in 2023 - here's the reveal:
As the Hundred Year War rages on, assume the head of a noble family and seek out glory in this tactical turn-based strategy game. Fend off enemy factions and battle an evil force that has corrupted the highest echelons of society, exploiting the conflict for its own gain through a violent and mysterious cult.
From your castle, recruit, equip and train soldiers to fight your enemies and protect the population. As you face the challenges thrown at you, your skills in management and diplomacy will be put to the test. With the world on the brink of collapse, there is only one solution: Evil must be defeated.

I already play Chef Life: A minimum wage Simulator everyday at work
I need to see more actual gameplay of Chef Simulator. 🤔
Wat, a new RoboCop game?! With Peter Weller no less? I would definitely buy that for a dollar.
That Robocop trailer looks really good, I wonder what the mechanics of the game will be, especially since the character is not a fast walker as most character in these games are.
Really nice to see a new Robocop game, been a long time since we got a Robocop game not on phones. Definitely gonna keep my eye on that.
Robocop looks great. I hope it runs properly on Switch.
“ While The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was arguably the highlight”
Noooope. Robocop totally stole the spotlight here. What a great trailer!
I had no idea there's a Robocop game on the way. I really hope it's as good as it looks and has the potential to be.
Not to be that person but yikes... Gollum looks way more rough than I remember it looking a year ago. Like an early PS3 game. Could've sworn the older trailer looked a whole lot more polished. This... this looks like a proof of concept trailer. Something a dev team might pitch a publisher. With frame drops and rough character models and so on. I honestly, usually, don't care about this sort of thing as long as the gameplay looks fun (and tbh it's really not important). But that was just jarring.
The original uncut Robocop is one of my favourite films ever. I'm not really one for modern first or third person shooters, but very intregued about how they handle this one. Looks like they are sticking fairly faithfully to the film... as noted by others, Robocop moves very slowly, as does ED 209 - that would give a very different feel to most modern fps/3ps.
There's been some fantastic Robocop games over the years... (including a Gameboy one who's music ended up being the "And on and on and Ariston" commercial from the 90s!) though I've got to say, part of the "coolness" of Robocop is the look of his design and weapons, and how he moves - of course that's lost as soon as you switch to these kinds of views. Still, I'm interested to see how this one turns out!
Thank you Nacon for bringing so many of these games to Switch. This was way better for my tastes than the decent Nintendo directs. I love playing AA and AAA games on my switch.
Looks like Robocop is a 1st person shooter? It looks pretty awesome already.. even though I'm not as big into this genre as I used to be.
Robocop better move like it did back in the day. Also that trailer could have been a lot better... Instead they used generic theater music.
Robocop looks really nice. Meanwhile, Gollum.... Oh dear. Terrible is an understatement
It'll never happen, but I kinda wish we could get something akin to the Cowabunga Collection for Robocop, or at least the Data East arcade game and Genesis version of Robocop vs. Terminator. Pretty please?
Crown Wars for the win! Day 1 !
@samuelvictor totally agree, a slower moving fps would be quite unique as well as fitting in with my old person reactions 😀 I actually saw the 35th anniversary edition on the big screen in May as its also a fav of mine, and the game looks quite faithful in a lot of ways. Fingers crossed for this one
@samuelvictor Agree with your comments as usual. I totally forgot about the Robocop Game Boy music reference! For me, I really enjoyed the first two movies. The NES and arcade games were also done well.
I, for one, am excited about this HD Switch game. The game better get the license to the movie music! It would complete the package….here’s hoping they knock it out of the park.
Wow that robocop trailer was a big suprise!
I wonder why they choose for first person and not third person.
Robocop does look cool, reminds me of a light gun shooter.
Robocop is one of my favourite films ever, I just watched the trilogy again recently for the first time in a while!
Can't tell by looking at the trailer what genre the Robocop game is, my bet's a 1sr /3rd person shooter, it looks cool. Worries me that it says PS5 Xbox series x/s and steam, could this be a Cloud game?
Robocop looks great, let’s hope it’s as brilliant and ultra violent as the original movie.
That Robocop game looks good but will we have gyro aiming on the Switch and one thay works? Not really bothered about any of the others at the first look. Coming from an LOTR fan as well, by the way. Crown Wars is a maybe
Crown wars has my attention.
“Gollum was the highlight” only for people of a certain age. Anyone old enough to remember the first Robocop only that can steal the show!
Robocop is giving me The Conduit on Wii vibes.. (t’was decent game that deserves another entry)
… Wun can only hope.
@Juzztn How's the replay value?
@BigE Oooh wow I've never had the opportunity to watch it on a big screen. My parents would have had a fit if I wanted to watch it as a kid, and I've not been anywhere near a screening since. Jealous!
@Magrane Thank you! Yes the third movie really watered things down to the point of farce - sadly that and the various tv series etc make people forget just how excellent the first movie was. I still like them all in a way because I have a fondness for the character and the designs but I can't help but feel if the only media was the first movie, it would be far better appreciated as an excellent (and brutal) piece of futuristic political satire by the mainstream who are a little younger and weren't "there at the time", rather than vaguely remembered as something cheesey that kids liked and was made to sell action figures... Oh well, those who know, know!
@samuelvictor my feelings are the same. I appreciate your candor and knowledge in your NL replies! Robocop back then, even part 2, was so shockingly violent back then. Now….not so much, so I’m curious what this generation thinks of that movie. I only saw part 2 on the big screen as a kid. I was rooting for the 90’s TV series and the cartoons to work out. I’m just glad Peter Weller continues to own it!
@The-Chosen-one exactly,, that ruins it for me. Why wouldn't u want to see ur bad a** character when playing as robocop?
@twztid13
Yeah or an option to switch from third to firstperson mode. Than both sides are covered lol.
@Magrane Yes, Weller is a legend and should be justifiably proud!
Thank you so much for your kind comments, very much appreciated.
