Re: Fans Reckon Nintendo Has "Killed" Mario Kart World With Its Latest Update

turmeric16

This update is a boon to the YouTuber influencers making bank off this game. The emotional negativity machine is going strong around this game and it's making me disconnect from the "community" I really don't understand how people engage with games nowadays. It's like they want to control the content in the game rather than just engaging with what the game devs wanted to make. Why continue interacting with something you dislike or hate? Leave the rest of us to enjoy the game in peace.

Re: Drag X Drive Switch 2 eShop Price Revealed

Unless this game has deep mechanics, good online ranked mode, and some series of unlockables, like character customizations, etc, I don't see how this game will retain a player base. Looks fun, but seems like we are getting what they have shown, which is just a basic 3v3 basketball game with nothing else going on.

Re: Review: Nintendo Switch Online GameCube Controller - The Return Of The King

I have large hands and I just move my grip down a bit (bottom tip of grips touching middle of my palms) and my fingers line up perfectly fine. The only downside of this controller for me is how the buttons cannot be remapped in the OS settings. With the ability to remap, the lack of the select button could be mitigated, but for whatever reason, Nintendo didn't want us to remap this controller outside of the NSO GameCube app.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Mario Kart World

I sometimes feel like I live in a different universe when reading others opinions on free roam and on other changes in this game. I've put in about 30 hrs, 80% in free roam, and I'm only now feeling like I'm getting a good grasp on the mechanics of charge jumping and grind rails. I think a lot of people are not appreciating how high the skill ceiling is here and just want to drive in circles. To me, there is a lot more strategy and skill involved. Free roam is perfect for practicing tracks and shortcuts. Searching out the collectables is the perfect way to learn the tracks in great detail. Many collectables require learning the tracks and alternate paths. All this knowledge makes the racing part of the game that much more enjoyable. The world is so lively and cartoonish. Hundreds of things to do in free roam. A lot of challenges take many many attempts because of how they make use of advanced skills. I don't know. I mean people will feel how they feel, but it seems to me that many players have lost the plot. What are you trying to get out of the game? To me the most important thing is how driving feels and they absolutely nailed the driving. Since it is so enjoyable to play, I love having the ability to drive outside of races, where the competition and frustration can sour the play session. Free roam is what I always wanted, a mode to just enjoy the mechanics of the game without the competition.

Also, in regards to the price. To me 80 bucks is a dinner for 2 at a mid restaurant, less than an hour of enjoyment and food I'll drop in the toilet the next morning and never think about again. I'm gonna be enjoying this game for years and obviously offers way more entertainment than other things. Relatively speaking, this game is "worth" a lot.

Re: Review: SPIKEY WALLS (Wii U eShop)

Well I think it is fun and helps clear one's mind, it is somewhat meditative in that sense.

I just hope everyone can give the developer a break if and when he publishes a more substantial game. He is one of the more dedicated developers for the Wii U and will hopefully come out with games that are more exciting.

@Quorthon

You directly asked me to prove that you blindly supported bad games. How is this assuming that we were talking to each other. I made the statement first and then you responded to me. You apparently cannot remember something from a couple of hours ago.

PLease don't try to demean me by calling me young man, you have no idea how old I am. Whatever we will probably never see you on this site again.

Re: Review: SPIKEY WALLS (Wii U eShop)

@Quorthon

The first time you responded to me you said "I'm critical of this kind of crap in the eShop. Can you prove that, outside of here, I blindly support bad games?" Which seems to suggest that I must of claimed that you hypocritically support these games. In another post you again defended yourself against the claim that you might buy bad games.

"The point isn't necessarily that you SHOULD make it yourself, only to illustrate that he is scraping the bottom of the barrel and lazily releasing literal tutorial projects as games, and having the arrogance to charge money for them." This is where you make claim that I misunderstood your argument. This is where you introduce the mistake of equivocating could and should.

You must be too dense to understand what I am saying. You call me a troll yet you are the one that created an account a few hours ago just to campaign against a single game. Give me a break.

Re: Review: SPIKEY WALLS (Wii U eShop)

@Quorthon

You once again claimed that I am making a general statement about everyone when I clearly stated, when I said that people aren't making campaigns against other bad games, that I am only referring to this website. I do not go onto other games sites very often at all.

I never claimed you support games you think are bad.

You equivocate could and should. I don't find the "you could make it yourself" argument compelling because sometimes I don't want to make it myself. You act like I was claiming that you were saying we SHOULD just make the game rather than buying it, when I said nothing of the sort. The argument is not a compelling basis for rejection of a game because there is no imperative to make something rather than just buying it.

Once again I invite you to stick around NL and continue to campaign against games you think are bad.

Re: Review: SPIKEY WALLS (Wii U eShop)

@Quorthon

I don't really find the 'you could make it yourself' argument compelling. I can make a damn good sandwich but that doesn't stop me from going out to buy a sandwich once in awhile.

As for your claim that I am making assumptions. I don't see people making campaigns against every cheap bad game that comes out on a nintendo platform on this site. It is not an assumption. I am sorry I don't follow your online commenting on other sites. I wasn't referring to you, but to the site in general. As for the assumption that people only bash flappy bird because it is popular. It is pretty obvious this is true. There are countless bad games on mobile platforms, but I don't constantly hear about them. I do think the popularity of flappy bird is adding to the hatred SPIKEY WALLS is receiving.

And as for the developer of SPIKEY WALLS. He is not betraying customer trust. He was merely tired of the hypocritical bashing he was receiving, some of it was getting personal, so he made a post basically saying to not buy the game if you don't like it.

Everyone complaining will be hypocrites if they don't complain about every bad game that comes out. Time will tell.

Re: Review: SPIKEY WALLS (Wii U eShop)

turmeric16

I hope all of you people complaining make an strong stand against the next crappy game. There are a lot of them. Or do all of you just like bashing on flappy bird because it got so popular? It isn't a bad game just because it is simplistic. All of these grandiose proclamations that SPIKEY WALLS is the downfall of the eShop reeks of hypocrisy.

Re: From the Forum: To Buy or Not to Buy? SPIKEY WALLS Fires Debate as Developer Defends Project

turmeric16

I find it ridiculous that people are freaking out about this little game that plays as advertised. There are bad games on every console ever made and Wii U is no exception.

I don't see the uproar when corporations put out movie tie in titles that are barely playable and only exist to rip off little children that want to play a game based on their favorite movie. RCMADIAX is not the right target.

Re: SPIKEY WALLS is Flapping Its Way Onto the eShop on 18th September

turmeric16

There are much worse games than flappy bird. While it is simple, and not exactly appealing to look at, it does have a addictive game play gimmick. At least it doesn't have in-app purchases. So for @RCMADIAX to make a flappy bird clone is not the end of the eShop like some seem to be suggesting. People that enjoy the mindless simple game play, something reminiscent of an Atari game, that do not want ads all over their screen might like to by SPIKEY WALLS, and good for them.

Re: Miyamoto States That Nintendo Is Sticking With "Revolutionary" Hardware For The Foreseeable Future

@Legromancer

Comparing smartphone and facebook games to full nintendo games is like comparing commercials to film.

Anyway, if video game makers realize that the market is smaller than what they believe they can structure their business as such instead of spending too much money on a budget which creates a situation where risks and interesting things can no longer happen.

Re: Miyamoto States That Nintendo Is Sticking With "Revolutionary" Hardware For The Foreseeable Future

I think a great idea like the gamepad will simply take a few years to come to fruition. People demand immediate greatness, and while they have already done great things with the gamepad, I think it may even take until the next Nintendo console to truly see how a touchscreen on a controller is really awesome. Though I already love just being able to play a game without the television.
