The Switch is tapped out and was a few years before they released it. N needs a Switch 2 pronto.

I can understand that but this is what should have replaced pixel art. Not that flash looking stuff we see a lot of the time.

Pixel art can be good too but it has to be REALLY detailed and very well animated. If not I can't stand it.

I agree. N doesn't and is a horrible company honestly.

Sure we all loved the NES/Snes but that was where they ended for me. I gave the N64 a shot (garbage) and the Gamecube (more garbage) and the wii (super trash dumpster fire).

I wish they'd just release the games on the PC. Don't have to give Sony or MS anything on their boxes but PC wouldn't hurt them any. Just think of what they could do with all that power.

I guess when only 10 people bought the system then there's a lot of games they can re-release.

I hated the wii so much I couldn't justify every buying the wii-u. They got me back with the Switch but the inability to deal with the internet and the lack of focus/upgrade on the Switch means this will probably be my last N device.

Yep. N should be iterating every 2-3 years. Maybe not as fast as phones but faster than the home consoles. I still think they hitched to a wrong horse with Nvidia. They're basically at the mercy of those guys which is not a good place to be as MS found out with the original Xbox.

I kinda wanted this one but if it has performance issues then nope.

Maybe these guys are just really bad at coding.

The epic store is a mess.

I only have free games from it. I won't spend 1 penny on actually buying a game. Steam is where the friends/voice chat/and all that lives. Epic can do what they want but the minute they started buying exclusives they turned into trash.

Sweeny can blow me.

I'd grab 2 if it were on the Switch but oh well.

Dunno if I'd be so sure of that. For one there's been some whispers the PS5 may be pushed into 2021. Rumors are rumors though.

Add to that the Covid junk and the high price these boxes are going to come in at and I wouldn't be surprised to see both pushed into 2021. Not even manufacturing issues; just the fact that so many lost jobs the sales will be abysmal.

But then again if they only release like a million then they'll sell out no matter what price.

It's a great Indie/2d portable. If I want to play big boy graphics I'll stick to the PC.

Sadly N isn't seeing it. Console generations aren't 7 years or whatever. PS4/PS4PRO/XB1/XBX and on and on. The ps5/xbsx will have a better system in 3-4 years. Why is N sitting on that? Mobile chips roll much faster so Switch/Switch2/Switch3 every 2-3 years.

Yeah I know N doesn't like that. Oh well. N has always been behind the times and whatever. Rabbids is fun.

We can agree to disagree. The Switch 2 should be at least announced sometime this year. Then again I guess as long as N sells enough Animal Crossing stuff then they probably don't care. Heck they didn't seem to care when 3rd parties were fleeing the Wii and then never showed for the Wii-U so I definitely don't know what they're going for.

Still waiting on the death of N's consoles and them to go 3rd party. Zelda on a capable PC would be awesome!

If they're targeting the Switch it ain't 'next gen'.

I mean I guess it could be the same engine with flat colored polygons running 15fps. UE4 on the Switch ain't no gravy that's for sure..

I have a soft spot for #2. First one I played (over at a cousin's house) and it was fun but yeah; really really vague.

I actually enjoyed the PS2 'god of war' type castlevania. I forget which one I have (it's all boxed up) but it was fun enough.

No fun whatsoever. They could run 4k on an engine not yet ever created and the games would still be super bleh.

All games by N are physical (get em used) but nothing else for me. Digital all the way.

I may try this at some point (on PC) but I'm not really into this type of game. 4$ on Steam I may give it a go.

Driving/sports games are very simple compared to a lot of games.

Let's see xbx work something actually complicated at a full 4k/60. Red Dead 2 or something like that. Hint; nope.

Also remember details. Red Dead 2 is 4k/30 on the xbx around medium detail.

Well the Sony comment was dumb but he's right about the switch.

Portables never really have competed against the home consoles. Even portables that have a tv out.

I've never played the game but 4k/60 is in the realm of the highest end PC (unless the graphics are trash that is).

You ain't getting that on a ps5 anytime soon (maybe some tile-based shenanigans and some 2d side scrollers/flat ps2 type 3d games.).

I really think N at least needs to release on PC. Maybe not give Sony anything but the PC ecosystem/users are so far off from the console folks that I don't feel there's too much overlap.

It wasn't the graphics that bugged me; it was the play.

I couldn't get into it at all. Too much 'stuff' going on and nothing felt right to me.

I'm ok with a 4 year cadence but that would be the longest I think they should string it out.

It's a cellphone; that tech moves lightspeed. N needs to get on the train and quit being so stupid about everything they do.

My inner child cries but I'd love it if N just became a software shop and put the games out on PC/PS4/XB. I don't think they need to be a hardware company anymore. They don't have the management or the chops to do it. The SNES was the end of their heady hardware days imo.

The issue for the big 3-4 is that it's probably just too much trouble to downgrade the games for the Switch.

PS5/XBXXX will be even worse. I mean; if I were EA/Activision I wouldn't spend a bunch of money dumbing down whatever game for a cellphone. Especially since you'd be hard pressed to present that those games would even sell to the Switch audience.

I know if I were a big COD fan I wouldn't want to play the game on a Switch. Why take the massive quality hit as well as the horribad online experience N released.

Indie and low end games are perfect for the Switch. Same as it was with the gameboy, gba, ds, psp, vita, and so on.

Sure but if you need a cartridge you have to bake in whatever that costs.

A ps4 disc; 10cents, a Switch cart; maybe 5$ or more. I can't find a rundown if N ever released what they're charging for the stupid things.

Could also be that N takes a bigger cut than sony/ms as well so devs go digital since they're getting less on the sale. Why add an expensive plastic fob to the price?

They definitely need to at least announce new hardware is being developed.

Of course Nintendo hasn't know what to do with it's hands in forever so they'll do something stupid as always.

I'm really surprised they're not doing some of the bigger arcade/dreamcast stuff and are sticking to old stuff that would run on a toaster. Very odd unless there are massive licensing issues (which would explain it).

Sure they can say there's 1000 beeelion PC games and they'd be correct but only 1000 of those games can use a controller so what; you carry a bluetooth kb and mouse everywhere? Doesn't sound so cool imo.

I'd like a smooth 1080 (keep 720 for the portable is fine with me).

More power is what I want. The rest can stay the same for all I care. Just update the cpu/gpu to something that can at least do ps4 quality at 1080/60. I don't know if that's something we can get in a portable though. Heat/battery/etc..

It also sadly depends on if Nvidia really wants to do anything. MS got kinda screwed by them back in the Xbox days so I don't trust em. I won't be surprised if N has to shed Nvidia at some point.

Heh. if people thought the Switch's battery life was bad. This thing's can't be much more than a couple hours at best unless you're playing some old game. That and the performance can't be very good. I'll expect there's a silly intel onboard video chip in there.

Cartridges may be an ok idea for a portable but N should've been giving them out free instead of charging (more than they should I'll bet).

If something simple like a background pic bogs the Switch down then we're even MORE in need of an updated model.

Sony/MS are bringing the guns to bear next year. Let's see if N is still in this or if they've decided to not care anymore. I'll wager the Switch sees a MAJOR drop in sales once the new shiny hits the market.

Not look like an oddball PC, a toy, or anything like that.

It was fine back in the day because they were basically thought of as toys but now they're multi-media boxes that play games. Make it look like an AV box.

I wasn't going to buy it anyway so I guess I have no dog in that fight.
