@MaSSiVeRiCaN Yup, agreed. I don't trust the scores on here. Game deffinately is on my radar, though looks like May will a bountiful month of interesting releases.
The review score seems to mimic the lack of direction of the game protagonist, a masterpiece of video journalism if it's a sign of homage - however I think not. The game clearly sounds interesting.
@Eric629 Good to hear! Unfortunately, I don't play it as often as I should. I think most I ever got to was 4th or 5th level. But, as said don't ever remember encountering anything bad.
@Eric629 No, I've not experienced any of that. I downloaded the game from the eShop, reason being I had it years ago on the PSP. It plays very smoothly and to be honest it has some of the best joycon feedback. It's like you can feel every note of the music in your hands.
If it plays good, that's what matters. One of the things I find curious about comments on here is when a non-frostbite 3d game appears - it looks bad, terrible etc... Neolithic era heavily pixellated 2d platformer appears - everybody raves about it.
Most likely day one. I'm hoping this is "the one" that will prove you can race on the Switch without worrying about turtle shells or be constrained to karts.
I was keen and excited (BIG Stardew fan), but I'm a bit weary now after reading the reviews on Metacritic. Might wait for a price drop or more reviews. I specifically looked at non-Switch reviews to get a feel of what the game offers. Too many dodgey marketing stuff going on in the industry and £25 is a fair amount to lose when there are big sales going on at the eShop.
Couldn't care less about retail, I buy most of my stuff from the Nintendo eShop. I do care about this hybrid console getting half decent race games. Bonus it's not 8-bit.
1. Super Smash 2. V Rally 4 I took a leap of faith and bought V Rally (physical), yesterday. Twitchy yes, but otherwise brilliant racer for the Switch. Detailed car settings and race replay was what sold me.
@Itzdmo Yeah, I always found 2D Mario more charming. The N64 version was good though. Odesey I sold. Having MK8, I thought a lot of the graphics and design sub par.
I'm devoting time to Smash Bros. Loving the depth of content. The fight stats and replay are brilliant in analysing weaknesses. Also loving the audio section. This and MK8 are my favourite flagship games. Other than that, Civ6 and trying to see my Spartan civilization through to the end.
@nofriendo BOTW is a critically acclaimed masterpiece winning numerous awards, sitting at no1 on Metacritic, has been camping at the top of the eShop charts... a terrible excuse of a Zelda game? Has there been a better acclaimed Zelda game?
I see advertising, interludes, count down timers, banner ads on game menus. I don't see better consumer experiences. Glorified pay-to-win phone business model.
@Aneira Have you played any Stardew, Harvest Moon? The graphics for Portia look standard, better than average (3d as opposed to sprite). What type of graphics were you expecting!?!
I'll be mostly expanding fields on an 8 year old Stardew farm. Waiting for a replacement left joycon. Looking at more Civ6 also. The Motorsport game looks interesting, had it on mobile.

A very interesting and worthy story. Like others have said, it's been a good week for articles at NL. Well done!

Re: EA Has “No Plans” To Release Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order On The Switch
@GrailUK Yeah hate it when NL has one of these episodes. One min they're happy writing about what everyone is playing and, and... then this!
Re: EA Has “No Plans” To Release Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order On The Switch
So what now we become? Depressed? Sorry NL, gaming is a small part of my life. Who cares about EA and their Loot Box business.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 20th)
My time will be spent across Super Smash, Minecraft (downloaded yesterday) and possibly Rive, which I got on Wednesday. Glorious Bank Holiday weekend!
Re: Limited Run Games Teases Lumines Remastered Physical Release
@TME Huh??? Lumines runs brilliantly on the Switch. The Joycon feedback from the music has to be felt to be believed.

Re: Ubisoft CEO Remains Tight-Lipped About Possible Sequel To Mario + Rabbids
Rabbids is a great game. Love the graphics. I got stuck after defeating the fridge boss as no path opened afterwards. One day I'll figure it out...
Re: Star Wars Pinball Is Coming To Switch With Exclusive Features And A Physical Edition
Had some of the tables on Android, worth double dipping.
Re: Talking Point: Super Mario Maker 2 Should Finally Enable Us To Craft The Perfect Mario Mixtape
@Dilated Exactly my thoughts! I'm a sucker for anything creative and can see myself spend days just creating.

Re: Talking Point: Super Mario Maker 2 Should Finally Enable Us To Craft The Perfect Mario Mixtape
Deffinately interested in this. I much prefer the classic side scrolling Mario over the 3D ones.
Re: Criterion Games Founder Says Nintendo Never Asked The Studio To Make A New F-Zero
Geez, what an awkward interview. Ward seems extremely agitated.
Re: Wolfenstein: Youngblood Might Come With A Download Code Instead Of A Game Card
Here in the UK apparently download only is about 50% of the market vs boxed which is about 25%. BBC news article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-47783558

Re: Here's What You Get For Pre-Ordering My Time At Portia On Switch
Sad to hear about the load times. I had high hopes for a 3d type Stardew experience.

@ramu-chan apologies, did not realize that.
Re: Review: GODS Remastered - A Timely Update That Sticks Too Closely To The Original
@ramu-chan You do realize that Gods was a 1990's game and Wonder Boy Dragons Trap is a 2017 game?
Re: Video: Here's Your First Look At Moto Rush GT And Its Labo Motorbike Support
Deffinately not worth $10. It's a canned mobile port.
Re: A Dark Room Brings "Unique" Text-Based Adventure To Switch Next Week
Hard pass if it doesn't have 4k ascii art and not have a physical release.
Re: Team Sonic Racing Finally Gets A New Gameplay Trailer
Like others have said, this needs to stand out from MK8. Graphically it does look good.
Re: Feature: The 50 Best Nintendo Switch Games So Far
@nofriendo Apologies friend, my device get overwhelmed on this site. Looking at what you wrote, I am in agreement about BOTW.

Re: Feature: The 50 Best Nintendo Switch Games So Far
I've got 14 of the 50. Not a bad list. Shame Skyrim isn't on there.
Re: Review: Xenon Racer - A Spluttering Speed-Fest That Lags Well Behind Its PS4 And Xbox One Siblings
@nofriendo Yes, looks most likely. Would be very interesting to see if that happens.
Re: Review: Xenon Racer - A Spluttering Speed-Fest That Lags Well Behind Its PS4 And Xbox One Siblings
It's a disgraceful cash-in attempt. There really should be local consumer laws to combat "Bullshot" material that clearly is designed to deceive.
Re: Six More Sega Ages Games Announced For Nintendo Switch
Herzog Zwei! Day one. Switch was best gaming decision ever.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 30th)
Super Smash, if it's in stock locally. Otherwise Civ6 and trying to get to the modern era.
Re: Super Blood Hockey Brings Brutal Arcade Action To Switch Next Month
This looks really interesting. It's got a nice old school vibe and Switch needs sports games. Will deff pick this up.
