Feels like every series under the sun is getting a beat-em-up. Honestly, I've been crossing my fingers for a Transformers game in the genre but this works.
@Fulgor_Astral I understand where you're coming form but me personally, that's what I like about it. The Switch form factor and hybrid nature is great, just needs better internals
@CRB1984 You're thinking of Splintered Fate (which is good but suffers from slowdown on Switch so I would recommend the Steam version) As for this game, I haven't played it but it looks a little generic but I'm a TMNT mark so I'll probably grab it on sale
@Kang81 for me, they're fine but one feels way too derivative of other games. It's trying be Uncharted, God of War, and Shadow of the Colossus all at once so it ends up sacrificing so much of Castlevania's identity to fit in with the AAA cool kids
Good to see this collection getting some loves. I assume the last collection is gonna be 3D. 64/Legacy, Lament, and Curse. I guess you could do Lords but all of those games are already on Steam, maybe just a bundle on Switch would surface with each game available separately.
Honestly, still think we're gonna get an 'Ultimate Deluxe' either through an update or a re-release. Probably not a lot of new characters. Maybe one or two new characters but mainly better online and some modes that are missing in Ultimate (break the targets and Smash Run for instance) and some balance tweaking.
I mean, makes sense it's in the same timeline as LTTP/LBW considering the similarities. Personally, I wish it was sometime after Zelda-2 with a completely new Hyrule that doesn't need to take cues from predecessors but aw well.
Honestly, the more of this game I see, I do soften towards it a bit. While not quite my type of game, the character designs are fun and it's cool to see a little more variety in the hero shooter market. Good on ya, Hunters, shame you're a Zynga game and funding...evil but ya know, whatcha gonna do?
Honestly, I suspect this'll be similar to Iga's Castlevania games. Once you beat the main game as Zelda, you get to do a truncated second playthrough as Link where the gameplay is closer to what most folks expect out of 2D Zelda. Just my theory though and I could easily be wrong.
@Solomon_Rambling I could imagine it's split between two gameplay styles. One is your typical 2D Zelda gameplay but with Ganon/Ganondorf and the other is Dungeon Keeper style base building where your minions are used to build out an evil lair
For me NA wins easily, fits with the vibe of the original Turtles (the comics) and leans more towards what I prefer. I'll admit I can be a unfair to the 1987 adaptation though since I don't like how it's taken focus away from the Mirage Turtles and colored popular perception of the TMNT. It's like if every modern Batman still looked like Adam West, just doesn't feel right to me
@AndyRogan Not wrong perse, just closer to the original Turtles (the comics) Honestly, they should have taken the blue off Leo and made them all red like the comics.
@BulbasaurusRex Which is even funnier when you consider Saki already had a brother in the original comics the show is (loosely) based off. That brother's name being Oroku Nagi, which is closer to actual Japanese naming conventions
Still, this looks cool and I might grab it later or wait to see what Deck 2 looks like after 2025. Hell, I'd be interested in a more powerful Steam Machine is Valve ever brought that back
A D.K line would be nice. Dixie, Candy, Tiny, Funky, Cranky, Swanky, and Chunky for the Kongs and Kudgel, KAOS, Krusha, Gnawty, Klump, Manky Kong, and Kritter for the Kremlings
Sounds good but I recently went through this game on my Steam Deck and did damn near everything, including all the DLCs. I think I'm good on a replay lol
I feel like Ganondorf is sort of like Megatron. Yes you need him to be evil and end up the main villain but you can show his downfall. Humanize (or these cases, Gerudoize and ... Cybertronianize) the character by forcing to watch his moral compass twist and break until they're finally driven to villainy.
Yes, it does. If you leave behind the massive amount of people who already own a Switch then good luck with that. Backwards Compatibility is expected, if not almost standard with both the Ps5 and The Series-X/S having backwards compatibility. If the Switch-2 doesn't have that then it's in trouble. It need Backwards compatibility, simple as
@Spider-Kev fun fact, that was a mistake the 1987 adaption made as well. Miyamoto Usagi actually originates from Stan Saki's independent comic 'Usagi Yojimbo' and the since Stan was friends with Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the creators of the Ninja Turtles and Mirage comics. Stan was able to not only get a comic crossover but even saw the rabbit samurai adapted to the T.V screen. However since the 1987 adaption of Ninja Turtles was unfortunately kind of shoddy so when the character was put in the show, they didn't look at the actual character's name, just the title of the comic. It's essentially like having Samus show up in Captain-N but just calling her 'Metroid' during the entire episode.
@OwenGamer22 She actually appeared in the original comics that started off the Ninja Turtles. However, she skipped the 87 adaption and first appeared in the 2003 one. She's also had some different origins. In the comics, she was a high-ranking Foot Clan member who brokered peace with the Turtles after Shredder's death. In the 2003 adaption however, she was actually the adopted daughter of Shredder and eventually took the mantle after his defeat
@Wexter Cryptographic keys are legal distinct from Bios, that's why there was a suit between Sony and George Hotz, which was settled out of court. The problem is not that the use of the keys is illegal but rather that there's been no legal precedent on the matter and neither Dolphin not Nintendo want to settle that in court. Right now, what Dolphin is doing is perfectly legal, but only because there's not been an official ruling on the matter. Now, Dolphin could go to court and win, securing legal protection for the keys, but they could also lose and make things harder not only for them but for all emulator developers. Same with Nintendo, if they lose then they cede quite a bit of ground to emulation so no-one wants to take their shot and risk missing so to speak.

@Clyde_Radcliffe I thought the rumor was that the game was 2.5D and honestly, I LOVE DK but I don't think that gets prioritized over Mario
