Re: Fortnite's Latest Trailer Is An Unsettling Realisation Of Its Crossover Ambitions

slider271

So while I think The Simpsons crossover has been pretty good fun and visually very well realised, I’m concerned that Epic may be making shorter, 1 month seasons a more regular thing. This means paying for the Battle Pass more regularly, where my wife and I have both been able to pay for each Battle Pass using previously earned Vbucks without forking out any cash…

While I can see how Epic may not like this, we do buy in game content when it grabs us (skins, music, etc) and if it comes to the point where we have to buy the Battle Pass for money due to the frequency of new seasons we’re more likely to lose interest.

Also, changing the seasons more often will make it harder to reach level 100 without paying to skip levels, something which I’m not willing to do, and I can’t give up more time to the game than I already do. I know it’s not essential to reach 100, but it’s a good goal to aim for.

Re: Opinion: Banjo-Tooie Is Pure Nightmare Fuel, And I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way

As soon as I saw the title of this article I hoped it was going to be by @alanahagues I agree with everything said here. My wife and I played Banjo and Tooie together quite recently (after having played both on original release) and it’s noticeable how much harder Tooie makes things! Jiggies are out in the open so often in Banjo but in Tooie right from the start they’re much trickier to acquire. Fantastic game, and just makes me wish that Nuts & Bolts had been a more traditional 3D platformer (even though. I did like its ingenuity).

@mattitudemf so I’m not being argumentative here, I’m genuinely wondering what sort of tasks you do get AI to help you with to be more productive? Like, can you give an example of a prompt you use often which saves you a lot of time in your work? Without including anything company-specific obviously, which could get you into trouble.

Re: Talking Point: Does Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Rollout Of Event Updates Make It Feel 'Incomplete'?

As someone who doesn’t time skip, I don’t mind the regular updates to add events, since I won’t be trying to play them early anyway.

The downside is that, years down the line, when Nintendo turn off their Switch servers, anyone playing this as a retro game with no updates installed is going to get a very slim experience compared to anyone who sticks on, for example, GameCube AC even now.

“ slimey, manipulative, deceptive, un-Nintendo-like” I feel like we’re playing different games here. Yes, it has micro transactions that are insanely expensive if you’re daft enough to buy them, but frankly it’s not hard to ignore them. I’ve been enjoying it as a pick up and play game, not taking it seriously but just having quite a decent amount of fun.

I think it’s a shame at IAPs have taken over mobile gaming but it’s happened and as long as games like this come out which don’t force you to buy stuff to progress then I’m not totally unhappy.

@Snakesglowcaps I don’t agree that the ads are affecting their judgement on the preview, but I do agree that the Xbox One version had some dodgy frame rate issues (only played the first hour or two when I had a trial of Xbox Games Pass) which means it’s worth waiting for a more technical preview or review before putting any cash down for this.

I do love the premise of the game though.
