@Truegamer79 they are the king even if they are stubborn. Dual analogues was the right choice and it took a while to get there. Some choices also didn’t have the longevity such as motion control. And they are absolutely last to the online scene which if you didn’t notice is a big scene. They passed on mindcraft so they are capable of making mistakes but they aren’t as dumb as Xbox which thought it bought the dk franchise.

@cvrator I love Nintendo games. I don’t want to get into this nonsense. I have owned every Nintendo since 1985. I have owned a donkey Kong arcade cabinet. I grew up with Mario wallpaper and Zelda bed sheets. I memorized issues of Nintendo power. Won video game tournaments. Nintendo games are of course good games. I don’t know what reality you think I made up. I am a docked player. Almost exclusively. It is my preference. As a result I have no use for paying almost twice as much for a system then it should be just because it’s portable. By the way I had 5 Nintendo switches for a lan party room. But I personally am out at this price. I’m also annoyed that all of a sudden graphics seemingly matter to Nintendo fans. If graphics don’t matter than we didn’t need a new system because that’s literally what this system does. Prettier graphics. We could have had these graphics a while ago if the switch one wasn’t a hybrid. But what do I know. You’re the true fan.

@Narrator1 the problem is nintendo was always the affordable console. And now I can buy a series S cheaper than a switch 2. So it’s not the affordable system that it once was. Also a lot of Nintendo portable players end up buying multiple systems. I don’t know why a Zelda portable is a must have but for some people it is. So that’s more money into Nintendos pockets. People realized that and wanted to March. Or at least type “drop the price” on repeat.

5 years ago when Xbox and PlayStation fans pointed out why was BOTW sub 30fps and less than stellar resolution Nintendo fans mocked Xbox users and PlayStation fans as “not real gamers”. And switch was “good enough”. Fast forward to 2025 Nintendo releases a new switch and Nintendo fans are drooling over their 4k 60fps botw. Less than a week later Xbox drops a new handheld and here we are back to Nintendo is “good enough!”

@DTfearTheBEARD hey did you manage to get two. I’d really like to know how the wifi is for local wireless play. I used to have to put all my switches side by side in their docks to not lose connection. I’m hoping that won’t be an issue with switch 2 and they can play further apart.

@Haruki_NLI all we were asking for is to be able to message people and to chat with a headset. No one asked for this. Oh look Nintendos doing it so it’s cool. Wait a second this is going to effect games performance. Now you have to ask yourself is it worth it. Nintendo clearly thinks it is. But Nintendo also thinks a whole bunch of other ideas of theirs are great which I’m sure many of us would question.

This is like how Xbox one has resources dedicated to Kinect. Even when they stopped selling Kinect the resources were lost and the ps4 games ran better. For instance black ops 3 is 1080p on ps4 and only 900p on Xbox one and you can notice the difference. This isn’t a feature I will use and guess what I’d always rather the performance.

@Monkeido not too long ago you were paying $60 a game. It wasn’t that long ago. They sold 68 million copies of Mario Kart 8. How much do you think it cost them to develop MK8? How much do you think it cost them to develop MKworld? Well according to this price increase at the same sales rate they will make an extra billion dollars in sales. I highly doubt that’s about inflation. It should be obvious it’s about profits.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Has Sold Over 1 Million Copies On Switch

Make way for Nintendo to keep justifying porting games at full price while even companies such as EA or Activision, which this community hates, remasters and releases games in a 2/3 pack bundle at often less price.

Or is this just inflation again. I have a hard time understanding when it’s greed versus, shrug everything costs more and live with it, inflation.

Re: Shuhei Yoshida On Higher Switch 2 Game Prices: "It Was Going To Happen Eventually"

@jfp I think we picture corporate scenes from the movie “elf” or “big” where companies are there to make as much money as possible. I’m ok with that but don’t pretend you’re our friends and anytime you explain why prices go up I can’t just accept that as truth since I know that making money is the ultimate plan so you will likely lie in order to make that end goal.

“According to Activision’s current Call of Duty head Patrick Kelly (via the court filings,) we now know the development cost for those three specific CoD titles ranged from $450 to $700 million. These figures were included in files for a lawsuit against Activision surrounding the 2022 Robb Elementary school shooting filed in May 2024.
For Black Ops III, the game was developed over three years for over $450 million and has sold 43 million copies since it launched in 2015. 2019’s Modern Warfare remake had a similar multi-year development cycle but jumped to over $640 million in associated costs and is now around 41 million copies sold”

Sports illustrated.

Are we suggesting that Nintendo is spending 200 million developing a Mario game? I highly doubt that.
