@OrtadragoonX I have two kids.

@electrolite77 affordable portable systems have been selling like crazy yes. The gameboy was cheaper than the nes. Advance cheaper than a snes. 3DS cheaper than a wii u. The software on portable games was cheaper too. Now we’re in a different ballgame. This system costs the same as the ps5 digital. And the games are the same price too. Switch 1 did sell gangbusters. There’s no guarantee that will continue.

Nintendo won’t confirm who even is making their games and or ports. The only thing they know how to confirm is their prices.

@OrtadragoonX I don’t know where you live. But in North America many of us have TVs in so many rooms we arent confined to a single tv. I grew up with a tv in the kitchen. Now you can buy a fridge with a tv. On my main floor alone there are four tvs. One in the office, one in the dining room, one in the kitchen, one in the living room. I don’t know how another screen makes any difference.

@OrtadragoonX the pc handhelds are such a small percentage of the market. It’s barely worth mentioning. Also if I have a game on the pc handhelds I can play that same game on an actual pc desktop with significantly more power. So the pc player has options. The switch players have none.

@OrtadragoonX how about putting yourself in direct competition with the series S. Besides we buy Nintendo not for the form factor. I promise you this is my sixth switch (5 OG switch’s and 1 switch 2) with zero intention of ever using any of them portable. We buy the system for its first party games.

@OrtadragoonX could have released a tv only pro model. It would have been less money and more powerful. I guess Nintendo can’t have that can they.

@OmnitronVariant does the museum have a love hotel section. Or better yet a love hotel beside the museum for visitors. I want the entire Nintendo experience since I’m a real fan.

@OrtadragoonX maybe. But maybe you just need to put more work into it. Maybe developers simply did the cost benefit analysis of this and other games and said it’s simply not worth it. But if they had stronger hardware it wouldn’t take nearly the work so they would have gotten it done. If we have a whole generation where we have to home for the panic buttons, or Ferals of the world to port games other wise we get this…. We’re in big trouble. Those guys can only do so much. The vast majority will give us this.

Really wish they had just released a tv only switch to either improve the performance or to reduce the cost of the system. Currently paid way to much for this performance.

@OrtadragoonX maybe the switch 2 can’t do much better. Maybe that’s just the sad fact.

@CupidStunt I don’t understand this either. Even if you couldn’t get 4k why not 1440p at 60fps. This is depressing.

30fps. “Good enough”. $70 also good enough.

Don’t worry everyone. The competition does the same. So Nintendo is still not as bad as our mortal evil enemies.

@Smackosynthesis I thought we were paying expensive prices as a charity to Nintendo. Seemingly Nintendo doesn’t seem to want to be a charity to their customer support team. Don’t worry. Nintendo will never use ai or shut down studios. They are your best friends.

BTW… People are mad because they expect more from Nintendo… the company who was about complete games not that long ago.

In conclusion this game is the same price and longer than donkey kong DLC.

@N00BiSH I’m sure you would have liked the OG GameCube Metroid prime as well because it’s “good enough”. When are Nintendo fans going to embrace the fact that we can be respectful to the past while embracing the present.

@OrtadragoonX this whole launch has been propped up by switch 1 backward compatibility. If this system didn’t play those games there would be riots in the streets.

@X68000 the exact same thing Nintendo fans made fun of Sony and Microsoft fans for. Nintendo follows tradition. Pretending it’s an actual launch but really it’s a soft launch. Yet I swear this site said this was one of the most loaded launches in history.

They should have cut the giant number 70 into a single frame every 10 seconds or so.

@raymond23 the Mario party dlc got roasted too. Both can be bad. This isn’t a competition of what’s the worst. It’s simply a take on this dlc.

please explain how you access value other than directly comparing something to the equivalent competition?

It’s just a big coincidence that PlayStation 5 and Xbox series X are essentially the same price where I am. 599 vs 579.

Maybe there is no direct comparison to Mario but this is the competitions remakes in two or three packs and I think there’s considerably more done than ai upscaling. Maybe that’s subjective too.

Anyways everyone can make their own decisions but I’m can’t help but think most people see a growing difference in what you are getting for the same dollar versus at other video game companies.

To be clear this game will sell because Mario, video games biggest mascot, is attached to it. That doesn’t automatically mean there is any price Nintendo can charge for it whatever they want without customers raising their eyebrows and keeping their wallets in their pants.

@electrolite77 except I think you have to use the average joes finances and you still need to compare cost of remakes on Nintendo versus other systems. Even if I can afford it I can feel being taken advantage of.

To those waiting for a deep digital discount. The OG switch Nintendo launch games still only go 33% off once a year or so and they are 8 years old. Maybe you can wait if you consider that a deep discount.

@The_Nintendo_Pedant the only thing I can say is when I let my six year old play donkey Kong bananza there are just soooo many more buttons today than before. But you should be able to make a two button game for kids without being bread dead difficulty.

I got this game and beat it at 6. And I’m not sure how long it actually took me to beat but I can do it in just under 7 minutes so tbh out really sweating. I don’t understand the yoshi games and or Kirby games because I think if I figured this out at 6 then I don’t know how much earlier games should be designed for. But I’m a snobby gatekeeper.

What the heck is “up to” 4k resolution. It should be locked 4k docked if all they’re doing is porting it.

@Dogorilla don’t worry. Mario kart world DLC is coming. Right in spring when the Mario movie gets released. And it’ll be paid.
