Re: FC 26 On Switch 2 "On Parity, Basically" With PS5, According To EA Sports Dev

@electrolite77 the series S sold itself on being a 1440p output resolution machine…. Nintendo did its utmost to say 4k over and over meanwhile even the majority of switch one games with upgrades aren’t actually 4k. Unless the marketing department thought we would be excited to play NSMBUD in 4k. While the second Nintendo published switch game (DK) is 1080p. That’s a far stretch from 4k. I don’t know why it’s the consumers fault if the manufacturer over promises.

@electrolite77 in the Nintendo switch 2 overview trailer they talk about a 4k dock for compatible games. If the least demanding games aren’t compatible I don’t know what to tell you. Then they shouldn’t have highlighted the 4k the same way PlayStation shouldn’t have said they could do 8k for compatible games. The hdr on the system is a mess and what was the fuss about 120fps screen if we can’t even get games at 60fps. So clubhouse games or something at that level can run better. But wait they advertised the 120 fps with Mario showing how smooth it would be. Are there any Mario games at 120fps? Well I guess we know why digital foundry never got to see the system before launch. Maybe just maybe they are actually neutral and were the honest of everyone in their expectations.

@electrolite77 fallen short of a hybrid console powerful enough to run 3rd party games decently. Again I was talking about ea sports games and fighting games. Two forms of games which are generally less taxing then say an open world game like gta. A fighting game is essentially one angle and so is fifa or nhl. Car racing games are known to be easy for systems to do which is why I have some hope for f1 despite the lack of analogue triggers on the switch. Another mistake. I’ve said on these threads for years just give me 1080p 60fps and my tv will do the upscaling. So this is not exactly a huge ask. Yet here we are acting like it is one while at the same time praising games like street fighter, and cyberpunk.

@michellelynn0976 i would take lower performance on one device if I could play somewhere better for free. Instead you’re asking me to pay for the middle and then if I want better pay again. We could debate who’s moving a goal post but the one constant is that Nintendo likes us double dipping into our wallets. As a consumer I would guess that would bother you.

@Flashlink99 I expect series s performance through DLSS just like street fighter. why is the goal post moving? they are not giving Nintendo fans a discount for buying a game with half the frame rates. In the 3ds and game boy eras portable games got a discount. OK that's a fair trade. Here I am expected to pay the same price for something lesser. Again I am looking for series S levels of performance.

my problem is that when this thing was launching everyone on here was telling me this was actually on par if not better than a serious s... this site crucified digital foundry for saying it was closer to a ps4 based off of cyberpunk. Now game after game underwhelms and we are I guess supposed to call every developer not Nintendo lazy for not utilizing the hardware. Well the hardware has limits. Which is why even switch 1 games are running mostly at 1440p vs 4k. It is a problem this soon in the life but I guess I am a troll for pointing out the obvious.

All I would like to do is be able to sell off my xbox and get out of that ecosystem and play EA Sports games as well as fighting games on my switch. That shouldn't be a huge ask.

Once again I have owned every Nintendo ever available minus the virtual boy but I made up for it by owning a DK arcade cabinet. I am a fan but there sure is a line between love and hate.

@electrolite77 The PS5 digital is cheaper where I live and the PS% with a disc drive is $20 more. I question the value of the cartridge slot if we are getting game key cards. And I did not ask or force them to make a portable. My switch 2 went straight from the box to the dock and it will be there until the switch 3 comes out where again I will be asked to pay for upgrades that the other systems have.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give 'Kirby & The Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World'?

@Airsqueeble that was a different world where cartridges actually cost money vs something were digitally being loaned. It was also a different world because each of us had a blockbuster down the street so we rented more games than we owned. It was also a different world because there was less gamers to sell the actual games to. But yes. It’s exactly the same. Let’s pay $114.99 (CAD) for a game and be ecstatic.

Re: Developers Reportedly Still Struggling To Get Switch 2 Dev Kits

@NintendoWife at some point if Nintendo realest their consoles in between Xbox and ps5 and their shipping dates change there is a world where Nintendo releases their system right beside ps5 and Xbox. Expect being one generation behind it will be two generations behind. That will open a whole new world of ancient ports.

Re: Developers Reportedly Still Struggling To Get Switch 2 Dev Kits

@Dee123 once the system, which allegedly has been produced for over a year in order to have enough supplies, the dev kits should have been released to every developer that requested. The exact same day. There’s nothing to hide anymore. Unless Nintendo doesn’t want any actual third party competition to their own software.

Re: Developers Reportedly Still Struggling To Get Switch 2 Dev Kits

@SoIDecidedTo I absyhatr back log comments. The system is delayed. Doesn’t matter… I have a back log. There’s no games. It doesn’t matter I have a back log. There isn’t any development kits. Doesn’t matter I have a back log. Why did you even buy a new system. I think all these back logger commenters should be banned from buying a new system until their back logs are complete. Guess what. We wouldn’t need new systems because we live in a consumer society and most of us bought way more than we could ever play through. Stop deflecting with back logs. These are legitimate issues.

Re: "Somewhat Mixed" - Digital Foundry Delivers Its Technical Analysis Of Donkey Kong Bananza

The problem with this and every other Nintendo article about digital foundry on Nintendo life is that Nintendo fans love when Zelda is all of a sudden 4k 60fps. It’s apparently game changing. But then when their new game comes out between 1080-1200p with drops down to 30fps it’s good enough and digital foundry has its priorities wrong. Again my problem is that if this dk game was on either a ps5 or a Xbox series X it wouldn’t have had for sure run at 4k 60fps. With the Wii era Nintendo fans would say our games are innovative and waggle waggle they can’t be the same on a dedicated system. Since the Wii u the only thing Nintendo is offering is portable play and there’s nothing notable to explain why we can’t have these games on a better system. So some of us do have to wait for the switch 3 and god forbid that thing is t backward compatible.
