Re: Metroid Prime Remastered Switch Box Art Unveiled, Here's A Look

readyletsgo

Damn! I was so excited (and had a few wines) when this was announced for immediate release that I bought it digitally.
Now that it's morning, I really want to physical copy.

But I have a feeling when the next system releases they will release the remastered trilogy physically too. So, I think I'm good for the next while.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is Finally Getting DLC

readyletsgo

@xerneas I bought on the WiiU too.
I have held out up until 5mins ago and bought Deluxe, on sale at €39.99 on eshop now, so, I think I got my €59.99 worth out of the WiiU version 8 years ago.

Also, I have the NSO, signed up to it a few weeks back, so the new tracks will be 'free' along with the other DLC for other games and the NES SNES N64 and MD games.
I think its all working out to a good deal, finally.

Re: My Nintendo Europe Is Giving Away Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Postcards - Just Pay Shipping

readyletsgo

@DarkTron Oh yeah I know, just thought with Ireland listed on the list of countries, thought they would have a checkout setup for each country.

In fairness, I haven't been on mynintendo in years, just find it pointless ever since Club Nintendo shut down. Could never figure out how to order things on it and UK store never let me post to Ireland. Its just a weird setup I guess.

Anyway, I got the cards, hope they are nice

Re: Feature: Why Was Among Us Translated Into Irish?

readyletsgo

I found Irish very difficult to learn back in the 80's and 90s as I couldn't follow it at all, being dyslexic. I only know a few words now which is a shame. But I know my niece and nephew love Irish now. I feel it was taught to us so badly back then up until the early 2000s that people just hated it from primary and secondary school and just moved away from it in their 20s.

It seems now that there is a resurgence in learning Irish now with all walks of life in Ireland, which makes me very proud.
Maybe I should try learning it again.

Great article NL!

Re: Nintendo Confirms New Camera Controls For Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

readyletsgo

Would it not have been a better idea to do a dedicated 10 min Zelda SSHD Direct, explaining all the QoL updates etc maybe a week or two ago, instead of people speculating and Nintendo drip feeding it out? They kinda went around this all wrong for some reason in my eyes.

Seems like they have put in a good bit of effort into this port so, now, I'm looking forward to it, a couple days before release.

I've been on the fence since February about this game, even though I enjoyed it on the Wii originally, even with all its flaws.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch OLED Model

readyletsgo

One preorder up on Ebay Europe for €600. LOL

I pre-ordered one this morning in Ireland. I really dont know if I want it, but I will see how I feel about it by Oct 1st and make my decision then, either to keep or cancel it for someone else to get it at normal RRP.

Re: Limited Run Games Confirms E3 2021 Livestream

Gave up on LRG a long long time ago. Not worth the stress and long wait times for release.

LRG, make the switch carts first (2000 or whatever). THEN announce the game for preorder for a couple weeks then send it out. This whole announcing the Switch cart game, taking preordered then releasing it nearly 6 months after. Hard Pass.

Re: Review: Before I Forget - A Poignant Portrayal Of Dementia

readyletsgo

This is a tough one, My Father had Alzheimer/Dementia (Lewy Body), he just past away in January in a nursing home after 5 years of it in there. It was very hard and difficult to watch him completely change as the big farmer man I knew growing up in the 80s and 90s, to a very frail man, confused, failling all the time, no balance, hurting himself.

Tough as nails though, he got covid in September last, and he was fine, at 85 years old, just kept going.
At least the nursing home let me and my brother in for the last few days to say goodbye in full PPE.

So, I think i'll pass on this game for now, maybe in a year. But, if you have never been touched by dementia or alzheimer, I'd recommend this game for sure. To get an idea for yourself or just to know for the future for friends and family.

Its very sad.

Re: E3 Announces Its Digital Event Hosts For 2021

@darkswabber Yeah always like Colin over Greg. After all that 'hullabaloo' with Colin (which, I cant even remember now), he just kinda disappeared. Unless, thats what he wanted to do.

Side note, haven't seen Greg in a few years, dude lost a lot of weight, fair play to him!

Re: Konami's Classic Coin-Op Shooter Thunder Cross II Hits Switch This Week

@YANDMAN no, the price stays the same on Nintendo eShop, doesn't go up or down for Europeans with exchange rates. Same on American eShop and UK eshop. Just be nice to see it on here like the two other currencies. Nothing to do with exchange rates.

This site used to list the Euro price, then just stopped a few years ago. I'm just wondering why. Since a lot of Europeans read this site. Same as UK folk and American people too. For convenience mostly.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Worth Buying A Nintendo Wii U In 2021?

readyletsgo

Have mine since Launch, supported Nintendo with every game that came out over the 5 years. Now I use it at least once a week. Modded it, it plays every system going back to NES up to WiiU. Even at €200 secondhand, completely worth the price.

Hardly ever use my Switch tbh, but thats just me.

@earthinheritor 'Ya know whats crazy? Remembering that if Nintendo never entered the video game business there would be no video game market now. They single handedly saved the entire industry'

Nah, that was just in America. Rest of the World (which is very big) was enjoying Video games, and was a very healthy market in the 1980s. I should know, I was a there, lol.

Re: Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness Is Coming To Netflix This July

Looking forward to this! Set in 2006, after RE4, Sweet!

Just pre-ordered Village this morning. Ressy is the only franchise I pre-order games for. Only bad pre-order I ever had with Ressy is RE6, and even that was an ok game over all.

Now, RE4 in VR, I'm really not sure about that. On Facebooks oculus, hmm... hard pass. Hope it gets ported to PS4VR in the next year. Then I'll pick it up.

Re: Review: FEZ - A Mind And World-Bending Puzzle Platformer That Deserves A Second Look

readyletsgo

The guy who made it, cant remember his name at all (bit of a knob). Didn't he sell this game onto the company that own it now, because the development was hell for him? (I know, he’s mean, I saw the film).

I bought it back in the day, on a few systems, great game. If you haven't played it yet, give it a go, BUT, I would wait for it to go on a 50% sale (which i'm sure will be pretty soon) as the OG dev doesn't get anything from it now.

Side note, the soundtrack is incredible! Its the same guy who did the soundtrack to 'It Follows', amazing horror movie if you haven't seen it also.

@bobzbulder Seriously? Their own back gardens? Thats a bit much. But I see your first vaccines are going very well so far, same for the UK. But my god, in Ireland, they are SO slow with the roll out of the vaccines for the over 70s here. We have something like 700,000 first jabs done so far and even less second jab done. Like, we are only a nation on 5million. IDK

We are getting an announcement from our Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) in 3 hours of what restrictions are going to be lifted next week. Sounds like the 5km distance rule is staying for a bit longer though.

Anyway, the Switch is selling amazingly well here over the year so, thats good
