Wait, thats actually a better name. I’ve only read The Hobbit for required reading though, and it was a while ago. I don’t get why they want this one group having power of the IP. Just let them use it. What if they break apart from you?
@pipes They might add CD games to the Genesis library. Also, I really hope they add Dreamcast games. One of the coolest consoles in my opinion (never had one).
@Yoshi3 NGL, I feel like OOT is much worse than BOTW, and the Tutorial for TP made me not even start the game. I tried to use the horse but couldn’t figure out what I needed to do and noped out. OOT, while it seems like a good game, I think requires an original controller to play well, something I don’t have the budget to do. Not comparing 2d zeldas because 2d and 3d zelda are 2 completely different types of games.
I think they meant digital only? Because only the eshop seems like too low of an audience for a racing game when the platform has one of the best racing games ever exclusive to it (Based on my opinions and total sales of MK8). And when you consider what happened with the Saturn, yeah that makes sense.
@Anti-Matter Publishers would make that a thing anyway, with the “download required” being somewhere on the box. At least now all consumers will know that, instead of just the ones that understand that “download required” means that the game isn’t full on cart.
@gamma64 Even when there are a lot of rumors confirming that, you can never know if that is true until the switch 2 launches. Don’t spread unconfirmed misinformation. Also, what about Hitman or Street fighter, games that would already use the 64 gigabyte card? What’s their excuse?
Good idea, especially because they most likely don’t have a dev kit yet, this will allow them to make use of the switch 2’s extra horsepower if it can, it it won’t use it if it can’t.
@MamaSymphonia (SNES/N64/GCN?) Also the first generation in a while for Nintendo to have steady profits (Wii was a fad, Wii U flopped, 3ds had to support the entirety of Nintendo for a while, and even then, they were losing money), so for them to make a big leap in power isn’t that surprising, to keep their winning formula with a reason to upgrade.
@NFrealinkling Just saying that his info is not ENTIRELY incorrect, but he still probably got his info from one of the rage bait YouTubers (not saying they are all rage farming, just the one he probably got his info from).
@MrDocena Hey, I’m trying to support Nintendo myself, I’m just trying to stay as neutral as possible, and saying that while he may be horribly misinformed, that’s not wrong for everyone, and everyone doesn’t live in the US. In fact, since Nintendo (most likely) is shipping China manufactured Switch 2s to everyone but the US, more people may play the switch 2 in other places (such as the EU, which I meant instead of UK), meaning that they may pay 90 euros anyways. Also, MKW technically costs 50 (US/EU), so all ‘MKW is overpriced bc it costs 80$’ arguments are out of the window, but no one making that argument cares.
@TheExile285 NGL, my icon is the main Xenoblade Chronicles X icon (if you understand what I’m saying). I don’t play Xenoblade, I don’t even like most RPGs, but that icon was too sick for me to not get/use it
I mean, he’s right. I see so many physical switch games at my local target (in the electronics section in the back, but they are there), theres even a decently sized section with just physical games on one side, accessories on the other, but no such thing for PS/XBX
@Magician Yeah. Nintendo shines with single player, especially with their lack of dedicated servers, and Playstation has much better online, but from the few games I’ve played on my PS5, a lot of the single player gameplay feels very similar between games, with their lack exception of Astro’s Playroom (waiting for a sale on Bot)
@metroidprimed Get it on more than one account then put it on multiple switches? Plus, we aren’t even talking about VGC, we’re talking about game key carts. The ones with a physical cartridge, but a downloaded game.
@Teksette If its the easy way out for Nintendo, why aren’t they using any key cards? Plus, third party devs have done this before, just now Nintendo is getting shade for calling out everyone who does that. They are doing a pro-consumer move (by forcing key carts to have a large, noticeable label), and are getting shade for it.
@vincentgoodwin Yeah, I kinda agree with you. I don’t understand why people are giving Nintendo themselves shade for doing a consumer friendly practice (forcing game manufacturers to let you know when a game is actually on cart or not), but I do think that people have a right to be mad about them (the idea of game-key carts, not the branding itself), since it takes away a big draw of physical games.
@Lizuka Exactly the same for me except for game #2. Never played WW, before my time. Very excited to do so without pirating! And also play OOT, since I’m planning on getting the Costco switch 2 bundle which includes NSO+.
@johnedwin Can’t speak for you, but my local target has a decent aisle for Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox (they each have their own aisle in the electronic section), mostly filled with physical games, with a few digital codes for specific games. I don’t look for video game sections anywhere else, but I have a feeling that my local Walmart also has a similar scenario.
@Yoshi3 I’m not saying Nintendo is completely in the right, but I think that the only reason they made MKW $80 is to make the bundle seem better, to enhance early console sales. So it’s not an open world tax. Want any proof? Check out DKB. That’s their 3d Mario replacement, and it’s only $70. Nintendo stayed at $60 so long, and when they changed to $70 for ToTK, nobody blamed Sony or Microsoft, everybody just said ‘ok’. Now when Nintendo is charging $80 for ONE GAME that you can get officially for $50, everybody is mad at them. Yes, I am a Nintendo ‘fanboy’, but you’re a Sony/MS fanboy.
@johnedwin It’s for people that want to give a physical gift that’s not a gift card (which they basically are but it just looks better). Also so the companies have store presence.
@Spider-Kev That’s one game at $80. And nobody is complaining about the MINIMUM 1 game at that price on Xbox (and PS/PC when it comes). And that doesn’t even take into account the fact that Xbox wants to release games on Switch 2, so those games may be $80 on Switch 2!
@Pa1nbow It is an exploit, since the feature is meant to allow people to play their games on multiple consoles. I don’t know if you know this, but Nintendo tries to kick you out of your game if you try to join on another system. You have to join multiple times before it allows you to play with another person. That’s exploiting how Nintendo is trying to be at least a LITTLE nice to you, in case you want to be offline.
I’m feeling kinda salty that as far as I can tell, nobody is complaining about Xbox or PS raising their price, but when Nintendo just releases a new console with a decent price for a PORTABLE CONSOLE with it’s specs, everyone yells at them, calling them greedy, when they’re on of the few companies (that I know of) that reduced executive salaries during hard times.
Nice to see they’re letting people trying out Undertale in case they want to try Deltarune. Haven’t played Undertale, if the trial is available in the US (rip 8bitdo) then this might get me to buy Deltarune.
@Dfua82 @Dfua82 @antlion @Eduardotaz @Pa1nbow Well, think about it this way. If you buy a game, you buy a digital license of said game. You are paying for one copy of of that game (such as a physical copy). If you try to play 2 copies of that game (by playing it twice at the same time), then that is piracy. Yes, PS lets you do that, but as far as I can tell, that is only for YOUR account (source: my Uncle’s PS account on my PS5, while he has his own PS5). The ability to play online games together is an exploit. Anyone saying that you can find that in Nintendo FAQ, that is just the ability to play YOUR games on multiple devices. It is not to let you play one copy of your game online with a friend/family using the same license as you. People are just used to using an exploit, and when said exploit is patched, they are mad. And in case you think I don’t use this, I did. I used to play Splatoon 3 with my brother online with one license.
@smeggysmeg Yes, but that system is technically cheating Nintendo out of a game sale, so I’m impartial, partially because they solved a bigger issue that more people had. (And yes, I used to play Splatoon 3 with my brother so I used the ‘hack’ too. I’m not just telling you something I didn’t do/use myself)
