Re: Talking Point: Which Nintendo Series Are You Most Excited To See Return On Switch 2?

pikachupikachup

@Yosher (Big splatoon fan FYI) I don’t think grinding is a big deal in Splatoon 3. If you played 2 (which most people did, or they just played single player like my friends), then you could just get any 3 weapons you wanted, or even if you didn’t, it didn’t take too long to get 3 tickets. And the only grindy part is the Catalog, which you would only care about if 1) you want to 100% the game, most likely meaning you have 100%ed other games and are used to the grind, or 2) you care a lot about the game, but you would get the items just by playing if you liked the game that much. I played for appx. 4 hrs/wk for a few months, got lvl 30.

Gonna try getting charging grip. I rarely play on my tv, so pro controller is an unnecessary expense, but the normal grip feels very good to me (smol hands), and the back buttons will be very nice, just for the option. Couldn’t get a pre order, so gonna try to go to Costco day 1 for the Switch 2 + MKW + NSO+expansion pack bundle. My NSO recently ran out, so this would be good timing. Since it comes with NSO+, gonna also try for gc controller.

@westman98 Well, Cyberpunk had to work very, VERY hard to compress their game, since they have the only devs that care enough about physical media to put the entire thing on one game cart. Split Fiction and Madden don’t have to worry about cart limit, they can just pass that cost off to the consumers. I personally think that Cyberpunk will have 720-1080p graphics on the cart, with an optional 4k installation for those who want it.

I’ve never played either, so I can’t be talking. I’m hoping to get the Switch 2 + NSO Expansion pack bundle from Costco, because what single player game are you supposed to play before DKB? And I can just play the 3rd party games on a discount on my PS5.

@eltomo I heard a lot of people are like that. The Wii U version has higher highs, but lower lows (of visuals).

Re: Poll: GameStop Offers A Tempting Switch 2 Trade-In Deal, But Is It Really Worth It?

@Runex2121 @MamaSymphonia Custom firmware. It basically lets you hack your switch without having to go inside the hardware and physically mod it.

@Spoony_Tech I have a Dec. 2018 switch, and the worst that happened to me was a few scratches on the back and joy con drift (and even that was because my younger sister LITERALLY THREW MY SWITCH INTO THE WALL). I am scared to see how bad day one switches were with what you are saying.

@FishyS I’m not saying trade your switch to gamestop. Their prices are horrible. I’m just saying that if you want to sell your switch in the near (or even far) future, there’s options to still charge you joy cons. Plus, while $29.99 is pretty bad, at least it you’ll know any future switch 1 joy cons will work with it (or else they’ll get bad publicity, and nobody will buy them).

@MamaSymphonia You realize that if you had a launch unit, you probably could’ve gotten a similar amount to all of you items combined with just it, since it has CFW. And not all switches have CFW, only OG launch units (any before appx. summer 2018), so they are worth a lot more.

@dskatter @FishyS You guys realize that Nintendo started making external joy con (1) docks late last year for this specific reason right? I know it probably won’t make you not trade it in, but it is something to keep in mind when the time is right.

@Spoony_Tech @Kynwal That sounds brutal to (both of) your OG switch(es). What happened?

@Kiliomp My sister absolutely ruined my rails by just ripping the joy cons out. 🙃

Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Is Confirmed As A Launch Title For Switch 2

pikachupikachup

@AussieMcBucket Nope. Switch one version still has the save. But any progress made on the switch 2 version will not automatically transfer to switch 1 version (not sure you’d care about it doing so but…) and vice verca (no word on manual transfer, but the switch 2 version of BOTW and TOTK has some suspicious language that imply that you can do that)

Re: Every Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release

pikachupikachup

@Medic_alert Ah, ok. I’ve been catching up on a ps4 backlog, and playing those plus my current ps5 games (from like, launch with my ps5), so I haven’t been in the loop on physical games. Thanks for the info. Sad they didn’t just put HD full game on disk and make 4k a day 1 patch.

Re: Every Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release

pikachupikachup

@mattesdude Nah. Disk games (like on my ps5) come 100% on disk. You just download them for faster loading, since SSD speeds vs disk read speeds are much faster (for SSD). The worst case scenario is a day 1 patch for a bug discovered late in development, after a bunch of copies are manufactured. (Source; My Ghost of Tsushima Director’s cut copy)

Re: Every Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release

pikachupikachup

@missingno_fgc There’s a rumor floating around that there are only 3 physical sizes of game carts (key, 8 gigs, and 64 gigs), so many publishers would most likely rather pay for a cheap key card, rather than an expensive 64 gig cart, to either 1. maximize profits, and/or 2. they can’t afford the 64 gig price, especially if the game is like 20$ or something.

Re: Marvelous USA Confirms Its Switch 2 Physical Releases Will Contain The "Full Game"

pikachupikachup

@NintendoByNature Nah, people just assumed that they were, because before today, there was only 1 third party non key-card physical release (Cyberpunk), combined with the rumors that there are only 3 different physical cards—key card, 8 gigs, and 64 gigs—made it so (at least I think) false information didn’t spread, more like everyone reached the same conclusion on their own, that ended up being (thankfully) wrong.
