The Chad Cadence of Hyrule VS the Virgin Luigi's Mansion 3.

CoH: A good challenge even for seasoned gamers. Endlessly replayable. Drops free content update like it's nothing, offering an Octavo Story Mode and a Dungeon Mode. It also added lots of achievements and other options in the previous update.

LM3: Way too easy even for casuals. Not much to come back to after you 100% it. Pre purchase paid DLC for costumes and multiplayer content split up into two parts which wont be released for some time yet.

Now both are very different games and are good in their own ways but LM3 is yet another 1st party Switch release I am disappointed in. Also Switch games should be $40 at the most, the $60 price point for most 1st party titles is absurd. I can get way more playtime and enjoyment from cheaper games like CoH compared to LM3. Smash, BoTW, and Odyssey are the only major first party releases worth the price IMO.

Positives:
The game is visually impressive. The achievements system was a smart inclusion. The fact that most objects have their own physics is great fun. I love how each floor has its own unique theme. Game has a solid length; it took me about 16 hours on my first play through.

Negatives:
The gems are far too easy to get in this game compared to 1 & 2. Feels designed with 2 players in mind and sometimes is a slog playing alone. Money is mostly pointless in Story and completely useless in Multiplayer (compare to LM2 where Collecting money would upgrade your tools in both modes). No Hidden Mansion or New Game Plus. No ghost descriptions... this one really upsets me as I enjoyed reading about the ghosts in 1 & 2. Why not have an option to purchase a ghost's description? That could have been a way to spend your money but, sadly, the money is primarily for a rank at the end (as well as 3 types of lame items). The rank doesn't mean much because you can just go back to your same file after beating it and come back to the last floor and beat the boss after collecting more money to get the best rank, so there isn't much purpose in starting a new game.

Sorry, got a bit ranty but overall there are some decent design choices mixed with a LOT of questionable ones.

Re: Poll: Have Your Joy-Con Been Drifting?

My joy-cons that came with my Switch were the neon blue and red and neither one has any issues. Not sure if it's worth mentioning but my younger brother's black, left joy-con has the drift issue but not his other black nor his neon blue and red that came with his. I'm wondering if this issue is somehow more common in certain color variants or perhaps when they were manufactured?

@BlueBlur101 No I don't want to ruin my screen nor have any actual physical objects obscure my screen or make marks on it when I'm trying to build levels. There really is no reason it shouldn't be a changeable setting in the first place. Even that port of Scribblenauts had optional touch controls and didn't force you to use them in handheld. I know you can take the joy-cons off and play it in tabletop but I don't want to have to do that and prop it up somewhere.

Re: Poll: Have Your Joy-Con Been Drifting?

I've been using my original joy cons since I got my Switch 2 years ago, haven't experienced this issue even once. I am very fortunate with this as I usually have such bad luck and get these sorts of tech/device issues.

SMM2 is pissing me off for two major reasons: The online play is unbearably laggy and it's a shame because you have to pay for Nintendo's horrid online service and even worse than that YOU HAVE TO USE TOUCH CONTROLS IN HANDHELD MODE - this killed my enjoyment for this game. Never trust Nintendo to do anything right they're out of touch in their hardware, software, AND network departments.

Re: Site News: We Want Your Help To Become Even Better

All the Fortnite news and guides bother me and I would rather see less of that stuff. I also dislike (on twitter) the retweeting of the same news and articles that I've already read.

I still like the site, been checking it regularly for a long while and I think I always will.

Re: The Original SteamWorld Dig Will Tunnel Onto Switch Next Month

Even though Dig 2 is a much longer and mechanically superior to the first, I still really enjoy the first one and feel that it has more replay value as it's mines are procedurally generated. I played through Dig 2 once and have tried to play through a second time, but I just can't get into it again. I have around 250 hours logged on the original on 3DS and only about 20 on Dig 2.

Re: Rumour: Mother 3 Will Be Unveiled for the Switch VC at the Switch Reveal Next Week

@MitchVogel It's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Earthbound. It has a much deeper and unique story and the battling mechanics are more involved and fun rather than just being a chore to fight enemies. you can land combo attacks by timing your attacks to specific enemy rhythms and the whole hp clock thing goes down slower allowing you to actually use healing items rather than just having someone in your party die. Also, the game's not at that weird isometric angle that Earthbound was so the game looks and feels more real.

Re: Feature: Catch Up With the Animal Crossing Direct and New Leaf's Fresh Features

I'm trying to start a new town and I can't for the life of me get one with a good layout. There's too many rocks, river is in a bad spot, too many ponds, clustered houses, buildings blocking areas. etc. I know nobody will believe me but... over the course of 3 months I've started the game up around 2000 times to start a new town that fits my requirements. I've cycled through 4 maps each time, typically choosing one that has a decent layout only to find that in person it's features are greatly flawed. I seriously wish there was a way you could design the layout of your town instead of it being randomly generated.

Re: Video: Animal Crossing Noir Continues to Explore the Mysteries of New Leaf

It was originally a cart and it did corrupt once with that so after that incident I started my second town. Later in the year, I got a downloadable version from Club Nintendo when I was at platinum status so I transferred my second town from my cartridge onto the downloaded version. Then after a few months, it corrupted out of nowhere. So then, I started my third town and had it for quite a long while until I transferred my old 3DS XL data to my New 3DS XL and all of my software, system memory, and all that stuff was there (or so I thought, because like an idiot I didn't check my animal crossing) and so I added some eShop balance and bought some games. Then a few days later I wanted to play some ACNL and discovered my town data did not carry over. I still had to wait a couple days for a system transfer (and still do) and now I don't know whether to try the system transfer process again or if it will erase my newly downloaded games and eShop balance... so I'm kind of in a bad situation.

and no, neither my new or old system is modded in any way, shape, or form. I also had not altered the data of my cartridge or downloaded version.
